00:17China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chinese Embassy in Manila remind its nationals

00:21in the Philippines to closely monitor local security, exercise increased caution,

00:25strengthen self-protection measures, avoid high-risk areas, and ensure personal and

00:30property safety. It also advises those intending to visit the country to conduct careful risk

00:35assessments before planning trips. The DFA in a September 1 statement added that crimes reported,

00:40including those perpetrated by Chinese nationals against their compatriots, are being vigorously

00:44addressed. Tensions remain high between the two Asian countries over the West Philippine Sea and Taiwan.
