00:00First of all, welcome to INS.
00:04First of all, you would like to know that you have a great honor of UNFPA.
00:10How are you feeling about this situation?
00:13I am feeling very good.
00:15It is a great honor, but it is a great responsibility.
00:19And I am very excited because I always thought that
00:24I would like to use my voice, my influence in any way.
00:31I would like to bring a change that I would like to bring,
00:34which is very close to my heart.
00:35And I feel that gender equality is an issue that is very important
00:42and is very broad.
00:44There are many things, whether you talk about girl-child education,
00:48whether you talk about gender-based violence.
00:51It is a great job.
00:53And I am glad that I can join UNFPA with this journey.
00:58Did you have your reaction first?
01:02It was an absolute yes, because it has been a dream for me.
01:07I have also wanted to represent my country globally in a meaningful way.
01:12And I have also wanted to use my voice for something deeper
01:18that has more soul, more purpose.
01:20And this was just a merger of both.
01:23Do you have any gender bias and equality in your career?
01:27I think at a small level, we all face it.
01:31Maybe there are very basic things of not getting the same kind of car as your male co-actor.
01:39Or not being respected in terms of your thinking or voice.
01:46Or not being heard in terms of your opinion.
01:50Also, I feel that when a girl asks a lot of questions on the set,
01:55she says,
01:56she says,
01:57she says,
01:58how are you involved.
01:59And when a girl asks a lot of questions,
02:01she asks too many questions.
02:03So,
02:04it's the mindset that the girl and girls see a little bit of a basic level.
02:09She says,
02:10she says,
02:11she says,
02:12she says,
02:13she says,
02:14So,
02:15you have got some believe all week we got paid right to your vehicle.
02:17Then you say this is how it is going to be as a acre funder.
02:18I've already said a lot.
02:19You have seen any recent interviews with the people who are getting caught at it.
02:23It can only be paid as a tax credit.
02:24see pay parity is actually a very it's an issue that one needs to understand why you know the
02:33why is also because your fee your payment is directly proportional to the number of people
02:41you can get into the theater and uh jo film me banty hain wo zada tar male lead banty hain
02:46female lead film me jo banty hain hunka budget bhi come hota hai toh budget kam hooga wo film
02:51ek tarah se dikhegi wo utnahi paisa leke aegi theater mein so it's a circle jo bort difficult
02:57hai break karna but dhere dhere jis tarah se log or uh female centric films bana rehen meaningful
03:03roles likh rehen a film like crew led by three women doing amazingly well in the theaters uh that
03:10is a ray of hope so i hope that these things keep happening and they keep leading to a positive
03:14change i would just want to say that uh know your value to every girl and every boy actually
03:26and stand up for yourself because it's very important um make sure that you're treated no
03:31less than anyone else because if you actually dream if you are if you work on yourself and
03:38if you work really hard you can achieve whatever you want to
