'JUDICIAL ACTIVISM': Border expert slams federal judges for stymying Trump immigration crackdown A leading border expert accuses federal judges of “judicial activism” for blocking Trump’s immigration crackdown, arguing it undermines border security and national sovereignty. Judicial activism immigration
00:00Joining us now for tonight's big close-up is President of the Border Patrol Council, Paul Perez.
00:06Paul, can you give us any additional details on these immigration blitzes, and will the Border Patrol be assisting?
00:13Sure. What I can tell you is President Trump has made no secret of fulfilling his campaign promises to secure this country.
00:21And just like Secretary Noem said, we're going to surge resources. We're going to push more people out there.
00:26Yeah, that will include Border Patrol. Our agents on the line have done a fantastic job.
00:31We're able to send a little bit more help to ICE.
00:33They're doing a whole-of-government approach, and this is going to help Chicago and other cities across the United States become safer because of what President Trump is doing.
00:44Paul, while Chicago and other cities are resisting the federal law enforcement, including court-issued deportation orders, I might add,
00:52attacks on ICE officers are up 1,000 percent. Last week, a trans person, Olivia Watkins, tried to run over agents in Maine while they were apprehending a pair of illegal aliens.
01:05Also, last week, there was a bomb threat at a Dallas ICE facility, and a rioter in San Francisco threatened to stab an ICE agent.
01:13What's driving all of these violent attacks, Paul? And why do these people feel so emboldened?
01:19It's this dangerous rhetoric. And under the previous administration, they were allowed to do it.
01:27I mean, the president of the United States, the secretary and the vice president, they started that smearing of Border Patrol agents and ICE officers when they went after our agents and accused them of whipping Haitian migrants.
01:38They knew that was false. They knew that wasn't true, but they still spun that narrative.
01:42And it started back then. And so we're not going to stop doing our job.
01:46The DOJ is going to prosecute those people that come after our agents and officers.
01:50They're going to make sure that we can do the job without the repercussions.
01:54Paul, thanks for your time on this Saturday night.
01:56I have a pretty disturbing case to ask you about.
01:59An illegal alien and his girlfriend were recently sentenced to federal prison, 23 and 20 years respectively,
02:05for child sex crimes against at least one minor.
02:09This is California. This minor was in the foster care system.
02:12The details of this crime are pretty disturbing.
02:16The defendant in this case preyed on some of our most vulnerable members of our community, our foster youth, to include the victim in this case.
02:25They picked her up from another minor's home.
02:28She had already consumed Xanax while at that minor's home.
02:31They then provided her with alcohol.
02:33She was in and out of consciousness, and they thought she was overdosing.
02:38And in response to thinking she was overdosing, the defendant then blew methamphetamine smoke into her face.
02:45The Border Patrol ICE agents have done an incredible job getting people off of our streets here in America, particularly sex offenders.
02:52But, Paul, are we still at risk of these criminal illegals, like individuals like this, coming across our border?
02:58Unfortunately, yeah, that is the case, because of Biden allowing millions of illegal immigrants to come into this country unvetted.
03:08People that were released from prisons, from asylums, from places that they should have never been allowed into this country.
03:14And now we have to go find them.
03:16But, yes, this predatory behavior is just one example.
03:19It's a sad example of what these illegal aliens have been up to since they've been in this country.
03:24And we're doing everything that we can to get them out of here.
03:27But, yes, it's going to take some time because of what Biden did to destroy the border.
03:32Paul, thank you for your incredible dedication.
03:34A federal judge blocked the Trump administration from transferring unaccompanied Guatemalan children back to their home country.
03:41The DOJ called it a first-of-its-kind pilot program to reunite children with their families.
03:48Meanwhile, another federal judge halted the administration's policies aimed at expanding fast-track deportations,
03:54ruling that they violate the due process rights of illegals.
03:59Paul, what about our agents?
04:00How are these rulings hurting CBP's ability to enforce immigration law, and how do our agents feel about this?
04:07Yeah, they're not happy about it.
04:11This is judicial activism.
04:13These organizations that run to the courts to try to stop us from doing the job that's on the books,
04:18the laws that Congress have put on the books, we're not able to enforce them.
04:23In this case, they were going to be repatriated to their families in Guatemala and other Central American countries.
04:29That's exactly what we should be doing.
04:31And they're stopping us from doing that.
04:33It's ridiculous.
04:34Paul Perez, thank you so much for your perspective and for joining us tonight.
