00:00Good afternoon, everybody.
00:02How are we?
00:04It's a newsy day, indeed.
00:06Does the President plan to send new and additional
00:09flights of Venezuelan gang members, now designated
00:12as foreign terrorists, from the U.S.
00:13to El Salvador or elsewhere?
00:16Can Americans expect to see those flights
00:17sometime soon?
00:18Americans can absolutely expect to see the
00:21continuation of the mass deportation campaign that
00:24has been successfully led by this President,
00:26Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, and
00:29also our Secretary of State, Marco Rubio.
00:32Since you brought up the judges, I would like to
00:34point out that the judges in this country are
00:37acting erroneously.
00:39We have judges who are acting as partisan
00:42activists from the bench.
00:44They are trying to dictate policy from the President
00:47of the United States.
00:48They are trying to clearly slow walk this
00:51administration's agenda, and it's unacceptable.
00:54As the President said last night, we will continue
00:56to comply with these court orders.
00:58We will continue to fight these battles in courts.
01:01But it's incredibly apparent that there is a
01:03concerted effort by the far left to judge shop, to
01:07pick judges who are clearly acting as
01:10partisan activists from the bench in an attempt to
01:13derail this President's agenda.
01:15We will not allow that to happen.
01:16And not only are they usurping the will of the
01:19President and the chief executive of our country,
01:22but they are undermining the will of the American
01:24public.
01:25Tens of millions of Americans who duly
01:27elected this President to implement the policies
01:30that are coming out of this White House.
01:31The Press You said the mass deportation campaign
01:34would continue, but she asked about the flights
01:36specifically.
01:37Will those flights to El Salvador continue while
01:39this case is being appealed?
01:40Ms. Sanders We don't have any flights planned
01:42specifically, but we will continue with the mass
01:44deportations.
01:46And I would just like to point out that the judge
01:48in this case is essentially trying to say
01:50that the President doesn't have the executive
01:52authority to deport foreign terrorists from our
01:56American soil.
01:58That is an egregious abuse of the bench.
02:01This judge cannot — does not have that authority.
02:03It is the opinion of this White House and of this
02:06administration, and that's why we're fighting this
02:07in court.
02:08And it's very, very clear that this is an activist
02:12judge who is trying to usurp the President's
02:14authority.
02:15Under the Alien Enemies Act, the President has
02:17this power, and that's why this deportation
02:19campaign has continued.
02:20And this judge, Judge Boasberg, is a Democrat
02:24activist.
02:25He was appointed by Barack Obama.
02:27His wife has donated more than $10,000 to
02:30Democrats, and he has consistently shown his
02:33disdain for this President and his policies, and
02:35it's unacceptable.
02:36The Press You took me right where Judge Boasberg was
02:37originally appointed by George W.
02:39Bush and then elevated by Barack Obama.
02:42I just feel like I should clear that up.
02:43Ms. Sanders The exhibition brings new meaning to
02:45President Trump's promise to always look out for
02:47the forgotten man and woman.
02:49Well, look, the President has made it clear that he
02:51believes this judge in this case should be
02:53impeached.
02:54And he has also made it clear that he has great
02:56respect for the Chief Justice, John Roberts, and
02:59it's incumbent upon the Supreme Court to rein in
03:02these activist judges.
03:03These partisan activists are undermining the
03:06judicial branch by doing so.
03:08We have co-equal branches of government for a
03:10reason, and the President feels very strongly
03:11about that.
03:12The Press Can the administration provide any
03:13more details on how authorities determine that
03:16each of those men were, in fact, members of a gang?
03:19And if the White House can publish images, photos,
03:22videos of those men, why can't the administration
03:24just release basic information like their
03:26identities and names?
03:27Ms. Sanders We are not going to reveal operational
03:29details about a counterterrorism operation.
03:32But what I can assure you, as I said on Monday, we
03:35have the highest degree of confidence in our ICE
03:38agents and our Customs and Border Patrol agents who
03:40have committed their lives to targeting illegal
03:44criminals in our country, particularly foreign
03:47terrorists.
03:47And they had great evidence and indication.
03:50They have the highest degree of professionalism,
03:52and they were 100 percent confident in the
03:55individuals that were sent home on these flights and
03:57in the President's executive authority to do that.
03:59The Press Just to follow up, I know in the last
04:00briefing you cited privacy concerns as a reason why
04:03the administration may not be able to reveal the
04:05identities.
04:06What exactly are the privacy rights of immigrants
04:09who were deported that the administration says were
04:11dangerous enough to be sent to El Salvador and sit
04:14in a prison?
04:14Ms. Sanders Again, as I just said, we're not going
04:16to reveal the operational details of a
04:18counterterrorism operation for quite obvious reasons.
04:21We're trying to combat terrorism here in the
04:23United States of America.
