Chinese President Xi Jinping told Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday (Aug 31) that it was the "right choice" for New Delhi and Beijing to be friends, during their bilateral meeting on the sidelines of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Tianjin.
Modi is in China for the first time in seven years to attend a two-day meeting of the SCO, along with Russian President Vladimir Putin and other leaders from Central, South and Southeast Asia and the Middle East in a show of Global South solidarity.
