00:00:00The End
00:01:00In that vast expanse of rich country, west of the Mississippi to the Pacific, the American Indian rules supreme.
00:01:27That is, until the coming of the white man.
00:01:31They came in wagons and on foot with all their worldly possessions.
00:01:37These people, the pioneers of our golden west.
00:01:41Time and distance were so great as they plotted on to their destination that often with the dawn came the cry of new life.
00:01:49As each day neared the end, there were many tired and toil-worn people.
00:01:56The circle camp was set up for the coming night in hope of rest and protection from the dangers that lurked in this new land.
00:02:03So far from their home, they had left behind.
00:02:07All this happened before the eyes of the red man.
00:02:13The American Indian saw a new people entering the lands he had known as his own.
00:02:18Some were friendly, some were hostile, and some moved on.
00:02:24Another morning, each day brought new hardships and toil, a burden that would have crushed weaker spirits.
00:02:34But for some, there was no morning.
00:02:37Their journey ended before their destination was reached.
00:02:39All who ventured west encountered the hazards of sickness, violence, hunger, and thirst.
00:02:46Only the stronger, with saddened hearts, moved on.
00:02:51Others perished, leaving no history of their passing.
00:02:56The only evidence of their fate is what the buzzards left.
00:03:01As the west developed, the cavalry often came to the rescue of the distressed,
00:03:06restoring peace where there was neither law nor order.
00:03:08Soldiers and scouts, such as Daniel Boone, Lewis and Clark, Pike, Crockett,
00:03:14Fremont, Kip Carson, Custer.
00:03:17These men made the journey of our pioneers less hazardous.
00:03:22The trailblazers of the west were these pioneers that helped make our country what it is today.
00:03:27Farmers, traders, trappers, craftsmen, missionaries, soldiers, and scouts.
00:03:34Men and women who dreamed of a better world in which to live.
00:03:37The scouts protected the migration of livestock, where it was most needed.
00:03:46A friend, both to the white man and Indian, one of the foremost scouts was William Cody,
00:03:53better known as Buffalo Bill.
00:03:56The first chance I get, I'm through.
00:04:04I'm through, I'll tell you.
00:04:05There's your chance, Cactus.
00:04:16Oh, now, Bill, don't be too racy.
00:04:25Besides, I don't think that flagging train's going in my direction.
00:04:28Direction or no direction.
00:04:30You still make a good nursemaid to a calf.
00:04:31Yeah, well, Bill, I didn't mind fighting Indians with you.
00:04:35I didn't mind crossing the Great Divide.
00:04:37But when it comes to being nursemaid to a journey north and calf, I'm going to draw the line.
00:04:42Maybe you look like a motherly type.
00:04:45Hey, you forgot to burp it.
00:04:47Oh, Bill.
00:04:49Look, Indians.
00:04:50They're going to attack the wagon train.
00:04:57Let's get to our horses.
00:05:20Let's get to our horses.
00:05:50Let's get to our horses.
00:06:20Let's get to our horses.
00:06:50Watch yourself, Bill!
00:06:59What is it?
00:07:01Females!
00:07:02Females!
00:07:04This must be a marion plane!
00:07:20This must be a marion plane!
00:07:50That's pretty good cutin' for a female, ma'am.
00:08:20Well, ain't no doubt about you, critter as big as you couldn't be a woman.
00:08:40Oh, you think I am too big, moron?
00:08:42What do you want?
00:08:43Skin and bone?
00:08:45You have nothing but a skinny man.
00:08:47Oh, you're hot!
00:08:49What a man!
00:08:50That woman is a woman!
00:08:54Ha ha ha!
00:08:55Woo!
00:09:00Maria's our cook.
00:09:01She's been with us for years.
00:09:03And there's a better shot than most of us.
00:09:04I can understand Maria wearing a dress.
00:09:06This is the first time I've ever seen soldiers in skirts.
00:09:09Ha ha!
00:09:10My name is Bill Cody.
00:09:11Buffalo Bill!
00:09:12Well, this is a pleasure.
00:09:14I'm Lieutenant Bryan in charge of the post at Fort Randall.
00:09:17I guess you're wondering about a little masquerade.
00:09:19The settlers here about left us for protection.
00:09:22There's been four wagon train attacks in the past few weeks.
00:09:25We thought we'd give those two something that looked like easy picking.
00:09:28The sheriff of Sue is calling the peace treaty with us.
00:09:31I was there in White Cloud, and the other chiefs agreed to the truth.
00:09:34Yes, I know.
00:09:34But you can see how they keep their treaty.
00:09:36I don't know.
00:09:38There's something strange about this attack.
00:09:40What do you mean?
00:09:41Look out there.
00:09:44No representatives?
00:09:45There are no dead or wounded Indians.
00:09:47In all my years of Indian fighter, I've never seen redskins pick up their wounded and dead.
00:09:52Neither have I.
00:09:53Sir?
00:09:54We're ready for move.
00:09:55Bryan.
00:09:57We'd be proud to have you accompany us to Fort Randall.
00:10:00Thanks, Lieutenant, but we haven't heard of cattle to deliver to White Cloud in their car.
00:10:04Cattle for White Cloud?
00:10:06You see the treaty calls for the government to deliver these cattle to the Indians.
00:10:09That means trouble.
00:10:11Oh, what do you mean?
00:10:12You'll have to drive them through Fort Randall.
00:10:14Folks there feel that the Sioux should be run out of this country.
00:10:17Not fed.
00:10:18Until I receive orders to the contrary, White Cloud gets these cattle.
00:10:22I'll see you in time, Lieutenant.
00:10:23No.
00:10:24Jack, let's go.
00:10:25Come on.
00:10:25Come on.
00:10:25I thought you know there was a trap down there.
00:10:51I thought you knew what you were doing.
00:10:53I had it straight on the other wagon trains.
00:10:54You think if I knew they were dressed up like women, I'd stick my neck out?
00:10:57You're supposed to know.
00:10:58That's why I'm paying you.
00:10:59Who are those men that rode in to help the white Indians?
00:11:01I recognize one of them.
00:11:03Buffalo Bill.
00:11:04He's bringing in a treaty cattle.
00:11:06If the other gets them to white crowd, we'll never get the Indians off the land.
00:11:09You want me and the boys to stop them?
00:11:12I've got a better idea.
00:11:14Where's Running Deer?
00:11:15He left with the other Indians right after the attack.
00:11:18The good citizens won't like the idea of cattle being given to Indians who are massacring wagon trains.
00:11:22As soon as you men finish dressing, get into town and spread the news.
00:11:26I guess the lieutenant was right.
00:11:54Let's try it in and see what it's all about.
00:12:08You folks are going to have to move aside.
00:12:11I've got a herd of cattle coming through.
00:12:13You're mistaken, Mr. Buffalo Bill.
00:12:15You're not going to deliver any cattle to those bloodthirsty Indians.
00:12:20Go back and tell the boys to stop the herd.
00:12:22I'm sorry to disagree with you, ma'am, but it's my job to see that our treaty with White
00:12:29Cloud is fulfilled.
00:12:30Well, then why doesn't White Cloud live up to it?
00:12:33His Indians have been attacking white men.
00:12:35Only last week, my father was wounded and barely got away with his life.
00:12:38There's no proof they were White Cloud's grave.
00:12:41My father's wounds are proof enough.
00:12:43Anybody can tell they were Sioux.
00:12:44I've never seen Sioux fight the way they did today.
00:12:48It's just not Indian style.
00:12:50Now, please clear the way.
00:12:52Those cattle have to go through.
00:12:54They'll have to go through these first.
00:12:56That special world tough.
00:13:09Get in there!
00:13:14Let's go!
00:13:19Get in there!
00:13:23What's the matter with you?
00:13:37Hey, could you more tell you they collied the point?
00:13:53Hold it, Blake.
00:14:09All right, everybody, disperse. Go about your business.
00:14:15You forget, Blake, this town is under martial law.
00:14:18Martial law? All you and your fancy blue legs have done is ride around and look pretty.
00:14:22That very detail for Corporal Small this morning didn't look so pretty.
00:14:27Further bloodshed won't solve any problems. We'll reach a peaceful decision.
00:14:32All right, Lieutenant, we know you've got a job to do, but if your method fails, we'll try ours.
00:14:39I know you've got your orders, Bill, but there's no denying the fact that you trust these redskins a lot more than I do.
00:14:45I know them a lot better than you do. That's true.
00:14:47But I can't sit idly by while attacks happen every day.
00:14:50Before you take any action, Lieutenant, let me go and see Whitecloud.
00:14:55If I find the Sioux really is causing this trouble, I'm with you all the way.
00:14:59All right. That's fair enough that the cattle stay here until you prove that the Sioux are innocent.
00:15:05All right. We'll bed the cattle down outside of town.
00:15:08You give them back my stones!
00:15:09Get out of here, kid!
00:15:10You give them back my stones!
00:15:11You give them back my stones!
00:15:12You give them back my stones!
00:15:13You give them back my stones!
00:15:14You give them back my stones!
00:15:15What's going on here?
00:15:17You take my yellow stones! I want them back!
00:15:19You got that stone?
00:15:20No, it's really a long time ago.
00:15:21I want him back!
00:15:23You got that stone?
00:15:24No, I threw away a long time ago.
00:15:28Hey, Cactus, let me have your harmonica.
00:15:30Huh?
00:15:31Come on.
00:15:33Pin feathers.
00:15:34How would you like this?
00:15:35Hey, that's my harmonica, Bill!
00:15:40Me don't like!
00:15:42What did you expect to come out, Yankee Doodle?
00:15:44Okay, Bill, you and Cactus can get cleaned up at the post.
00:15:47Thanks, Lieutenant.
00:15:51I have nothing further to say to you as long as you're in that uniform.
00:15:57I can't understand you.
00:15:59When we first became engaged, you were proud of my uniform.
00:16:02That was before I learned the full meanings of the words Army-wise.
00:16:06I don't want to sit home each time you go out and patrol
00:16:09and wonder whether or not you're coming back alive.
00:16:12But I'm a soldier. It's my job.
00:16:14Father offered you a job as wagon master last month,
00:16:17but you had to rejoin the cavalry.
00:16:20Just exactly like Corporal Small.
00:16:23Did you see his widow this morning?
00:16:25I did.
00:16:26I had to break the news to her.
00:16:29Can't you just picture somebody breaking the news to me?
00:16:32About you.
00:16:34Goodbye, Lieutenant.
00:16:36If Buffalo Bill and that partner of his get the white cloud, they may learn that Yellowstone is gold.
00:16:47I don't see how.
00:16:48Even the Sioux don't know that there's gold on their land.
00:16:50They don't know now, but if that treaty's fulfilled, sooner or later somebody's going to find out.
00:16:55I think we'd better talk to Running, dear.
00:16:58You contact him and meet me at the hideout.
00:17:01Yeah.
00:17:02Two birds with one stone.
00:17:04And not yellow, either.
00:17:06If Buffalo Bill and Cactus are ambushed for red again,
00:17:10it proves to the people here in town that the only good Indians are dead Indians.
00:17:23We're good grub.
00:17:24I'll saddle the horses while you finish eating, Catcher.
00:17:26I'll help you, Bill.
00:17:31You eat a meat plateful grub.
00:17:33Well, to tell you the truth, the more I tell them eats very much,
00:17:36I never could stand my own cooking.
00:17:39But when I run on the vittles like this, I just can't stop.
00:17:43If a gal that could cook like this, I'd marry her in a minute.
00:17:46I'd go get him.
00:17:47Oh, wait a minute.
00:17:48You mean to say the gal that cooked this food ain't married yet?
00:17:51No, but you want him, husband.
00:17:53Oh, she does, huh?
00:17:55Well, son, is she pretty?
00:17:57Pretty?
00:17:58You know, is she nice-looking?
00:18:00Nice-looking extra-wasta.
00:18:03What's that mean?
00:18:04Eyes that shine like stars.
00:18:06Oh, eyes that shine like stars.
00:18:09Pats and Hota.
00:18:10What's Pats and Hota?
00:18:12Gin like frosted honey.
00:18:14Ooh, gin like frosted honey.
00:18:17Grunta seita.
00:18:18There you go again now.
00:18:19What does that mean?
00:18:20Looks like a fresh strawberry.
00:18:23Fresh strawberries?
00:18:24Why, she sounds good enough to eat.
00:18:26Why don't you go fetch her, son?
00:18:28You betcha.
00:18:29Well, we should be back in a couple of days.
00:18:42Do you want some of my troopers to go with him?
00:18:44No, I'll just save cactus with him.
00:18:46I'm sorry, Bill, but you'll have to go alone.
00:18:48What do you mean?
00:18:50I'm fixin' to marry and settle down.
00:18:52Oh, eyes that shine like stars.
00:18:55Skin like frosted honey.
00:18:58And lips that...
00:18:59You love my cooking, no?
00:19:01You're cooking?
00:19:02Gee, pinfellas say you like marry with me.
00:19:05Oh, well, uh...
00:19:07If you said good, I'd make a good wife.
00:19:09We settle down.
00:19:10I have many more chances.
00:19:12Well, I'll tell you the truth, ma'am.
00:19:14I'm just a little young to settle down.
00:19:16Hey, Bill!
00:19:17What are you waitin' for?
00:19:18Don't we have to go see White Clyde?
00:19:28He probably won't stop running
00:19:29till he reaches Ogallah Spring.
00:19:31Good luck, Bill.
00:19:33Maria!
00:19:34See?
00:19:35Him come back.
00:19:37You'll get to meet.
00:19:38My stomach.
00:19:39Oh, see?
00:19:40Oh, no.
00:19:44Oh, no.
00:20:12Here they come.
00:20:14We were to meet again at the sign of the full moon.
00:20:19Why do you send for running deer today?
00:20:21This couldn't wait.
00:20:22All right, Steve.
00:20:23There's a herd of treaty cattle outside of Fort Randall.
00:20:25They're to be given to your people if White Clyde can prove
00:20:27that the Sioux hasn't been attacking wagon trains.
00:20:29Who goes to White Clyde for this proof?
00:20:31Buffalo Bill.
00:20:32I know him.
00:20:34The White man who brought the promise paper to the Sioux.
00:20:37Mm-hmm.
00:20:38And if he don't reach White Clyde with that paper,
00:20:39it'll be worthless.
00:20:40Yes, you too.
00:20:41Yes, you too.
00:20:42Thank you, our deal.
00:20:51I know him.
00:20:52Thank you, by the end of the season.
00:20:55Please, they can't.
00:20:56Don't forget the anchor.
00:20:58No, dear Mr. Members.
00:21:00Hey, Bill, how about sending up some smoke signals to White Cloud to sort of let him know we're coming?
00:21:22You know, I'm not anxious for these trigger-happy Indians to see us and figure we're sneaking up on them.
00:21:28All right, Jack, this will make you feel better.
00:21:30Well, the way I figure it is, it's sort of polite to knock before entering, especially when you don't know how you're going to be received.
00:21:36You've got to get some brushes.
00:21:38All right.
00:21:58Let's play around.
00:22:12Let's play around.
00:22:34I sure hope all them braids know how to read this smoke talk.
00:22:38There it is.
00:22:40White Cloud welcomes us and knows we're coming.
00:22:43Now, Bill, are you sure that's what they said?
00:22:46That's what they said, Jack.
00:22:48Well, I ain't had no learning, but when the smoke all clears away, and maybe you're scalped with it, there ain't going to be no right and left to prove that they said welcome.
00:23:00I'm so glad to see you.
00:23:24I knew it, I knew it all the time.
00:23:53You and your smoke signals, Bill.
00:23:55I thought that first puff was a little shaky.
00:24:08You know a good bunch of thieving pollcats?
00:24:10Blake was right.
00:24:11You can't trust the farmers, Bill.
00:24:14Two arrow, all right.
00:24:16There aren't too many.
00:24:17Just a few.
00:24:21Hey, Bill, you better count again.
00:24:23Oh, to think I could've got married and settled down.
00:24:26Well, so long, Bill.
00:24:27It's been good to know you.
00:24:29I don't understand it.
00:24:30White Cloud has never broken his word before.
00:24:33Come on.
00:24:48White Cloud!
00:24:50Wake up!
00:24:55That's funny.
00:24:56Looks like our welcome team is leaving us, Bill.
00:25:02That's Wakehart himself.
00:25:04Bring back the paceless ones!
00:25:20My scalp feels a lot better.
00:25:24Looks like you'll have plenty of time to settle down now, Captain.
00:25:27Yeah, sure does.
00:25:29What?
00:25:30Me settle down?
00:25:31Oh, no, Bill.
00:25:46Greetings, White Cloud.
00:25:47White Cloud greets his rudder.
00:25:51Your smoke talk welcomed us.
00:25:53Yet we were attacked by Sioux.
00:25:55The ones who attacked you had lost faith with us.
00:25:59Return to the teepee of the Sioux in peace, my brother.
00:26:03Leader!
00:26:20The smoke of peace is sweet, White Cloud.
00:26:32Yet the Indians have been attacking white man's wagon train.
00:26:35White Cloud gives words.
00:26:37He's brave not paint faces, since he placed mark on Palmer's paper to wear cattle.
00:26:43The people at Fort Randall do not know White Cloud.
00:26:46They have asked me to get proof that it were not to sue.
00:26:50White men at Fort Randall fear a shadow.
00:27:00The three before you, and others like them, broke my word.
00:27:05You take them to your people.
00:27:07They have broken White Cloud's word.
00:27:09Let them face White Cloud's justice.
00:27:11In the teepees of your fathers, they will be wailing for the dead tonight.
00:27:18White Cloud beats the drums of death too soon.
00:27:25Every Sioux brave has the right to speak.
00:27:30Before the mantle of death covers you, speak so all may hear.
00:27:39I am not a coyote who cries when he is trapped.
00:27:42I will not speak with my hands bound.
00:27:45Give them their hands.
00:27:55Why do my people turn their face from me?
00:27:58I am not their enemy.
00:28:00There is the enemy.
00:28:02His people have driven the buffalo away.
00:28:06And now he comes with White men's cattle to soften the belly of the Sioux
00:28:09and take away the stink of our hearts.
00:28:11The world of the buffalo is gone.
00:28:14We have fought the White men long enough.
00:28:17The war pass is not our answer.
00:28:20We are not squaws.
00:28:22This is the land of the Sioux.
00:28:24Our fathers and their fathers' fathers fought for it long before the White men came.
00:28:29It is better that we die on a war pass than sit here like squaws begging for food.
00:28:34We are not beggars.
00:28:37The White men came to us with promised papers and asked for peace.
00:28:41He who eats of the White men's meat becomes his dog.
00:28:47As long as breath runs in my body, I shall fight the White men.
00:28:53If there are other braves among you who wish to fight with me, I welcome you.
00:29:00If there are none, I'll fight alone.
00:29:04Your days of fighting are finished, Running Deer.
00:29:08You have broken my word and you must die.
00:29:12Running Deer is a warrior.
00:29:14It is not fitting that he be put to death.
00:29:16I ask that he be permitted to live.
00:29:19I will not owe my life to a fight.
00:29:23I know your code, Running Deer.
00:29:25Fight for your life.
00:29:31Fight for your life.
00:29:33Fight for your life.
00:29:38Fight for your life.
00:29:40Fight for your life.
00:29:41Fight for your life.
00:29:42Fight for your life.
00:29:43Fight for your life.
00:29:44Fight for your life.
00:29:45Fight for your life.
00:29:46Subscribe for your life.
00:29:48Luckers have been freed.
00:29:49Like this.
00:29:50Your kijumer number of planks have been meant for luck.
00:29:51Your crispy sound and said he isицate.
00:29:53THE END
00:30:23THE END

00:31:01THE END
00:31:03THE END
00:31:05Beat the drums of death!
00:31:35Why do you inflict the wound of mourning on yourself, White Cloudy?
00:31:39Running, dear, my son is dead.
00:32:05The wind is still here with a loss, White Cloudy?
00:32:10The wind is still there, with a lot of money in it.
00:32:17And the night lights are still there, with a lot of money in it.
00:32:23So when you sit down, you lay the words in it.
00:32:29So the great peacemaker's back, scalp and all.
00:32:54Keep quiet, Skokie.
00:32:56We've been waiting for you to get back.
00:32:58Did you see White Claw?
00:32:58Yes.
00:32:59I'm absolutely certain he had no hand in attacking the wagon train.
00:33:02That's interesting.
00:33:03Have you got any proof?
00:33:04Well, the fact that we're here speaks for itself.
00:33:07Then you had no trouble seeing White Claw?
00:33:09None at all.
00:33:11The Sioux are living up to their end of the treaty.
00:33:17With arrows?
00:33:18The Indian who shot that arrow is dead.
00:33:21Condemned by his own tribe for violating the treaty.
00:33:24With Roman Deer, White Claw's own son.
00:33:26I'm delivering the cattle in the morning.
00:33:29Well, it looks like we're going to have peace at last.
00:33:33I think this calls for a celebration.
00:33:36And everybody, bring your women, folks.
00:33:39Hooray!
00:33:40What are we celebrating?
00:33:41Losing that gold?
00:33:42Losing some cattle?
00:33:43Losing some cattle?
00:33:44Oh, Susan, don't you pardon me?
00:33:45I come from Alabama where we're going from.
00:33:46What are we celebrating?
00:33:47Losing that gold?
00:33:48Losing some cattle?
00:33:49What are we celebrating? Losing that gold?
00:33:54Losing some cattle?
00:34:19I'd love to see those gentlemen Hair Honkly wife?
00:34:22Oh Susana don't you strive for me I've doubled down above the мел

00:34:36Well, for it!
00:34:38Folks, we are going to hear from the Broom Brothers-
00:34:40Lalee and Joes-
00:34:42On a very popular number, Top Goes the Weasel
00:35:56Here's the treat we've all been waiting for.
00:35:58Janet is going to sing about her bow and herself on the old Panhandle Trail.
00:36:04Hooray!
00:36:12On the old Panhandle Trail, on the old Panhandle Trail.
00:36:18Sky seems brighter and my heart seems lighter on the old Panhandle Trail.
00:36:22Where the prayer is filled with quail and the Texas cotton tail.
00:36:27My gal's sweeter every time I meet her on the old Panhandle Trail.
00:36:32She sings to me as a strum my old guitar.
00:36:37And we agree that it's Lanzo, there you are.
00:36:42On the old Panhandle Trail, there's a ranch I know for sale.
00:36:47So we're heading for a happy wedding on the old Panhandle Trail.
00:36:52On the old Panhandle Trail, on the old Panhandle Trail.
00:36:59Sky seems brighter and my heart seems lighter on the old Panhandle Trail.
00:37:04Where the prayer is filled with quail and the Texas cotton tail.
00:37:08My boat seems lighter and my heart seems lighter on the old Panhandle Trail.
00:37:14She sings to me as a strum to those we try.
00:37:18And we agree that it's Lanzo, there you are.
00:37:23On the old Panhandle Trail, there's a ranch we know for sale.
00:37:28So we're heading for a happy wedding on the old Panhandle Trail.
00:37:33On the old Panhandle Trail, on the old Panhandle Trail.
00:37:58On the old Panhandle Trail, on the old Panhandle Trail.
00:38:05one.
00:38:06On the old Panhandle Trail, we have another pair of
00:38:28absolute total pledge in logos.
00:38:33With the help of your troops, we should be able to move the cattle faster.
00:38:45White clouds...
00:38:46White clouds and waste.
00:38:49I think there's more pressing business.
00:38:51What did you say, Bill?
00:38:52Come on, Lieutenant.
00:38:56Well, here, a pretty young lady like you shouldn't be sitting alone.
00:38:59Will you join me, Mr. Cotty?
00:39:01Thanks, Lieutenant.
00:39:02How about Lieutenant Vance?
00:39:04He's available.
00:39:15It's no use, George.
00:39:17We've been all through this before.
00:39:20But, Janet, your objections are no longer valid.
00:39:22The Indians are peaceful.
00:39:24But for how long?
00:39:25Until the next outbreak?
00:39:27No, George.
00:39:29I won't marry a soldier.
00:39:32You'd make a beautiful offer this way.
00:39:33What's that about this man, Lieutenant?
00:40:01Those cattle can be anywhere.
00:40:03They've had all night to disappear.
00:40:05Well, there ain't no tracks to follow here, Bill.
00:40:07This clay is as hard as a rock.
00:40:09We'll have to search anyway, Cassius.
00:40:11Maybe there'll be some tracks further on.
00:40:13I'll take this body back to the force, though.
00:40:15All right, Lieutenant.
00:40:25Sergeant, help me with this body.
00:40:31Cattle can be anywhere.
00:40:33Maybe there'll be some tracks further on.
00:40:35Cattle can be anywhere.
00:40:37Maybe there'll be some tracks further on.
00:40:39There'll be some tracks further on.
00:41:09Wait here. I'll get a telegram off to Washington to send some more cattle.
00:41:39Did you find the cattle?
00:41:54In area trades. What's Bill thinking I'm doing?
00:41:57He's sending a telegram trying to get more cattle.
00:42:00How long do you think it'll take for him to get here?
00:42:02Oh, I don't know. Took Bill and me four weeks.
00:42:05Well, there's no telling what'll happen now.
00:42:09Hold and the Kop.
00:42:10Please hold just a good taste.
00:42:11No.
00:42:12Well that's not a good sad battle.
00:42:13We've got några bands.
00:42:14But you can't get elders.
00:42:15Don't modelo.
00:42:16Againstugh ...
00:42:17Lights out!
00:42:18Lights out is coming!
00:42:19Lights out is coming, Boom!
00:42:20Lights out!
00:42:21Lights out.
00:42:22Saved us!
00:42:23Lights out!
00:42:24Lights out.
00:42:25Lights out, Pick up!
00:42:28Lights out.
00:42:30Lights out!
00:42:31Lights out!
00:42:32Lights out!
00:42:33Lights out!
00:42:34Lights out!
00:42:35Lights out!
00:42:36Lights out!
00:42:37Lights out!
00:42:38You're eye on the crowd. Don't let anyone shoot.
00:42:56We greet you in peace, old Red Brother.
00:42:58Why does your lance split the earth in anger?
00:43:01White Cloud places mark on promised paper of Great White Father.
00:43:05For many moons we live in peace, but White Man left his promise on paper.
00:43:13I have come to keep the promises.
00:43:15For five moons we wait, buffalo now gone, grass brown, my people starve.
00:43:23If you not speak with two tongues before, you come, but we not see cattle.
00:43:30They are gone, White Cloud.
00:43:32In the night they ran to the four winds.
00:43:34I have asked a thin writer to tell the Great White Father about this.
00:43:39Do not eat words.
00:43:41How children cry.
00:43:44Braves grow lean.
00:43:46We not wait much longer.
00:43:49When third sun hides face behind mountains,
00:43:52and you not bring cattle,
00:43:54I take back my mark from promised paper.
00:43:58If this happens, White Cloud,
00:44:00much blood will be spilled.
00:44:01It will be blood of White Man.
00:44:04My braves will ride with spirit of my son running, dear.
00:44:08We will drive White Man from our land.
00:44:11We will burn his houses,
00:44:14and dust will cover the White Man's sign.
00:44:17You must give me time, White Cloud.
00:44:20My mother herd of cattle will be here soon.
00:44:23You must not take back your mark from the paper of promise.
00:44:26Remove the landfill, brother,
00:44:27and let the earth show no sign.
00:44:30This is my word.
00:44:32When first star shines at end of third sun,
00:44:36and my people still hungry,
00:44:38the Sioux will ride.
00:44:46Aye, White Cloud, have spoken.
00:44:49I, White Cloud, have spoken.
00:45:08That shot may yet cost us our lives.
00:45:11What do you suggest we do?
00:45:13There's only one thing we can do.
00:45:15Fill our end of the treaty.
00:45:16What do you got on your mind, Bill?
00:45:19That buffalo herd we saw four days ago.
00:45:22We can get wagons from Walker.
00:45:24If we're lucky, we can bring back plenty of buffalo meat.
00:45:26Come on, cactus.
00:45:27Get that Indian paint on you and follow them.
00:45:47Stay out of sight and let me know when they start to come back.
00:45:52Let's get the men together.
00:45:54We're going to play Indian again.
00:45:57Still hungry, Bill.
00:46:16I think I'll get some more grub.
00:46:18Got to put some fat on me, you know.
00:46:20Maria said I was all skin and bones.
00:46:22Well, you're stressing it out, Maria, eh?
00:46:24Oh, Bill.
00:46:27Penny Feather, what are you doing here?
00:46:32Meet them grubs.
00:46:33Well, I can see that.
00:46:36She ain't here, is she?
00:46:37No, she's telling me to check them up on you.
00:46:40Well, the next time you see her,
00:46:41you tell her I already checked them down on her.
00:46:44I'm going to get some more grub.
00:46:45I'll get some more grub.
00:47:06Okay.
00:48:06Sure hope we have enough buffalo meat to satisfy a white cloud until the next herd of cattle get here.
00:48:24Well, where are you figuring on making camp, Bill?
00:48:26We're not stopping.
00:48:27We may be too late as it is.
00:48:28Get the horses.
00:48:29Up you go, pinfeathers.
00:48:44Take away, Joe!
00:48:45Joe, let's tell them about the buffalo.
00:49:04Hey, that fellow just appeared in a hurry.
00:49:15You sure that was a Sioux?
00:49:16There are the hoof prints.
00:49:17It wasn't a Sioux, Cactus.
00:49:25It was a white man.
00:49:26The Indians don't chew their horses.
00:49:31What do you suppose white men would be posing as Indians, sir?
00:49:35I don't know, Cactus.
00:49:36The Indians who attacked Lieutenant Byron's wagon train certainly didn't act like Indians.
00:49:40Let's get out of here.
00:49:41This is my word.
00:49:53When first star shines at end of third sun, and my people still hungry, the Sioux will rise.
00:50:02Tell the tribes of our nation White Cloud summons them.
00:50:09Let our brothers know White Cloud's land has slipped the earth.
00:50:15He has taken back his mark from promised paper.
00:50:18From this time on, Sioux and white men are no longer at peace.
00:50:32Let's go.
00:51:29Park, parking, lift!
00:52:29Don't get me!
00:52:31Come on!
00:52:32Get him!
00:52:50A running death.
00:52:52Two don't usually do this unless they capture somebody on their land.
00:52:55I wonder what he was doing there.
00:52:57Yeah, but Bill, that's only when they're on the war path.
00:52:59The sun has gone down three times.
00:53:01White Cloud usually keeps his words.
00:53:03We'd better look through his pockets.
00:53:04There might be some identification.
00:53:10Give me Yellowstone!
00:53:12Same as Stokey take from me!
00:53:15Are you sure?
00:53:16Surely sure!
00:53:17Me find him in old Galala Canyon.
00:53:18Why, that's only a few miles from White Cloud's camp.
00:53:22Stokey and Blake.
00:53:24Does Stokey know where you found in Yellowstone?
00:53:26Sure, me tell him.
00:53:27But he no giving back the stone.
00:53:30There's your answer for the Indian masquerade.
00:53:32Gold.
00:53:33See that this man is buried.
00:53:35Tell Simpkins to locate Lieutenant Byron and his patrol.
00:53:38I'm going to see White Cloud.
00:53:39The Buffalo wagons are on their way back.
00:54:08Where did you leave them?
00:54:09Over in the Stake Plains.
00:54:11They ought to be at Rimrock Canyon in 24 hours.
00:54:13Good, we'll meet them there.
00:54:14Come on, let's hurry.
00:54:14Good, we'll meet you.
00:54:44of Buffalo, not welcome in land of the Sioux. I come and peace the castle with White Cloud.
00:54:51There is no peace. Your long hair will hang in my teepee. I am a blood-beather to the Sioux.
00:54:58I have the right to speak. You cover yourself with mantle of our law. You shall speak as did
00:55:05running deer. You'll be punished as a Sioux, not white man. My heart is not afraid of White Cloud's
00:55:13justice. He is bitter because his people go hungry. From beyond those hills, I am bringing
00:55:18six wagons filled with buffalo meat. Once you said you were bringing cattle. We never see them.
00:55:25Evil white men stampeded the cattle because they wanted the Sioux driven from their land.
00:55:29All white men are enemies. No, White Cloud. Only those who have learned there is much gold
00:55:35on your land. We never see it. The sun has gone down twice since the Sioux caught a white man
00:55:41and punished him with a dragging death. That is so. I took this from his body.
00:55:51The Sioux does not carve the earth for gold.
00:55:58The white man, Blake, wants its gold. His men dress his Sioux to attack the wagons. I have
00:56:04seen the tracks of one who watched us. If they attack and stop us from bringing you the buffalo
00:56:10meat. No man will trust White Cloud. The great white father will send an army of Blue Shirts
00:56:16to drive the Sioux from his land forever. If this is so, why isn't this man punished?
00:56:23The white man law protects him until we can prove his evil.
00:56:26White man's law is nothing to the Sioux. Give us Blake.
00:56:30I'm sure Blake and his men will attack the wagons.
00:56:33White Cloud. White Cloud in his braids can move like shadows. We need but few.
00:56:38Your skin's still white. Your wagon may be jaws of a trap.
00:56:44I have spoken.
00:56:47Lower drum of death.
00:56:49War of death.
00:57:03Gideic.
00:57:04If I not return, let earth run red with white man's blood.
00:57:34I don't know, Cactus, we just have to keep our powder dry.
00:58:02They ought to be here by now.
00:58:16Make sure you get them all.
00:58:18I don't want any witnesses.
00:58:25I don't want any witnesses.
00:58:41I don't want any witnesses.
