00:00Kedah Menteri Besar Sanusi Noor has confirmed that he will not be contesting for a past

00:05vice president post in the party elections next month.

00:09However, he did not elaborate on his reasons for turning down his nomination for the party

00:13vice presidency.

00:15According to Utusan Malaysia, Sanusi said he would only defend his position as a member

00:20of the past Central Leadership Committee for the 2025-2027 term.

00:25Yesterday, FMT quoted a source as saying that Sanusi was widely expected to turn down Delected's

00:31nomination for him to contest the past vice presidency next month.

00:35A source close to Sanusi said the two-term Menteri Besar might opt to vie only for a spot on the

00:39past Central Leadership Committee as he had obtained the highest number of votes two years

00:44ago.

00:45The source also said Sanusi did not want to challenge the three incumbents, Idris Ahmad, Amar Abdullah,

00:51and Ahmad Samsuri Mukhtar, as they had done well as party veeps.

00:55Sanusi said last month that he was not ready to take up the post as there were others more

00:59qualified for the role.
