00:00It's all about the complications and love in a family.
00:04And how Jewish mothers love their children in a very special, unique way.
00:11It is very culturally specific, but I think it also is universal.
00:19Like when you get very specific inside a culture and you don't avoid it,
00:24I think it's actually easier to relate to from the outside than if you're trying to sort of clean it up somehow.
00:34On a serious note, how much does this show even resonate even more?
00:37We know anti-Semitism is on the rise throughout the world.
00:42So how important is a show like this right now?
00:46I think it's always important to put out positive reinforcement about a people and a culture.
00:54It is really wonderful that Netflix wanted to do our show.
00:58The timing was really interesting.
01:01So it does mean a lot to me and the way they cast it was very meaningful.
01:07The way it's written is really beautiful.
01:10There are a few tears shed, believe it or not, later on in the season.
01:15And I just really love it.
01:18I think Raphael is an incredible writer.
01:20He's so intuitive.
01:22Do you worry about the trolling, the anti-Semitism against you, especially with the show?
01:29You know what?
01:30I posted an image of a challah I made and I got trolled.
01:34It's like, what can I do?
01:36You just have to learn how to separate yourself from it.
01:43I used to hide all those comments or delete them or block them.
01:48And now I've stopped caring because I feel like I'd rather people see what happens.
01:55A lot of times people will jump in and defend, which is very sweet.
02:01But ultimately, what can we do?
02:04We have no control over this stuff.
02:06And representing is really important.
02:07Were you Bob Miff?
02:08I was.
02:09Tell me about your Bob Miff.
02:11Well, I sang my Haft Torah like Ethel Merman.
02:15I was like, I got up there and I thought, none of these people can leave.
02:20So I'm going to go for it.
02:23So I really like belted my Haft Torah.
02:27Other than that, I can't remember much, but it was a really wonderful day.
02:33I want to hear you doing your Haft Torah as Ethel Merman.
02:36And he was like, Ka, Ma, Ma, Adonai.
02:39Yeah.
02:40It was good.
02:41You're 13.
02:42Oh, yeah.
02:43I knew what I wanted to be when I grew up.
02:46Thank you so much, Lisa.
02:47It's so good seeing you.
