South Korea indicted former first lady Kim Keon Hee on Friday on charges of bribery and market manipulation, according to CNBC. Authorities allege she amassed more than $720,000 in illicit proceeds, including from a 2010 to 2012 stock manipulation scheme. Kim is married to ex-president Yoon Suk Yeol, who was impeached and arrested over his December 2024 martial law attempt. Yoon faces insurrection charges carrying a possible death sentence. Kim is also accused of conspiring with Yoon to receive 270 million won worth of opinion polls data for free and taking 80 million won in bribes from the Unification Church in 2022.
