00:00We got a handful of songs to sing you, can't stop my voice when it longs to sing you, new songs and blues songs, the songs to bring you happiness, no more, no less, ba-do-da-do-da, ba-do-da-do-da, ba-do-da-do-do.
00:24Hello everybody.
00:25Merry Christmas to you all.
00:27Yes, I hope you had a lovely day yesterday.
00:29You know, Christmas is just like a great big party that goes on for days and days.
00:33But it all starts with Father Christmas bringing your presents whilst you're asleep on Christmas Eve.
00:38And look, here he is, with his sleigh laden with presents, drawn for us by Scott Moulding.
00:44Do you know the name of the reindeer that's pulling Santa's sleigh?
00:47Ah, yes, with that lovely red nose. It could only be Rudolph, can't it?
00:50And I've got another Rudolph picture here, drawn by Natalie and Joanne Ward.
00:54Not only has he got a lovely red nose, but also a bright green body.
00:59So you'd have no difficulty seeing him on a foggy Christmas night.
01:01So here's Rudolph's special song.
01:04Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer had a very shiny nose
01:13And if you ever saw it, you would even say it glows
01:20All of the other reindeer used to laugh and call him names
01:27They never let poor Rudolph join in any reindeer games
01:33Then one foggy Christmas Eve, Santa came to say
01:40Rudolph, with your nose so bright, won't you pull my sleigh tonight?
01:46Then all the reindeer loved him
01:50And they shouted out with glee
01:52Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer
01:56You'll go down in history
01:58Hmm, what a jolly song.
02:01Now, we've got some very special Christmas pictures
02:04drawn for us by the children in Form 5 at Cuffley Infant School.
02:07Starting with two more of Santa and his sleigh.
02:11This one, by Joanne Stannard, shows Santa arriving at some lucky person's house.
02:16Whilst Daniel has two houses and two reindeer.
02:20Neither of them have red noses, though.
02:21Rudolph must be having a rest.
02:23Tiring business, the sleigh pulling, you know.
02:25Hmm, so I hear.
02:27Now, here are some lovely Christmas tree pictures.
02:30First from Arlette.
02:31What a pretty name.
02:33And this one, from Gary Days, is loaded up with presents.
02:37And Father Christmas is bringing even more.
02:39Have we got time for even more Christmas trees?
02:41I've got two big watercolour paintings here.
02:43Oh, yes, of course.
02:44Hmm.
02:46Jane has painted a tree with a fairy on the top.
02:48Well done, Jane.
02:49That's lovely.
02:50And Helen here has got a banana-shaped tree.
02:52Very jolly, Helen.
02:53What song can we sing for the Cuffley children?
02:56Well, there's one Christmas carol that everybody sings at school.
02:59And that's Away in a Manger.
03:04Away in a manger
03:07No crib for a bed
03:10The little Lord Jesus
03:13Lay down his sweet head
03:16The stars in the bright sky
03:19Look down where he lay
03:22The little Lord Jesus
03:25Asleep on the hay
03:28The cattle are lowing
03:31The baby awakes
03:34But little Lord Jesus
03:37No crying he makes
03:40I love thee, Lord Jesus
03:43Look down from the sky
03:46And stay by my bedside
03:49Till the morning is nigh
03:52Be near me, Lord Jesus
03:56I ask thee to stay
03:59Close by me forever
04:02And love me, I pray
04:05Bless all the dear children
04:08In thy tender care
04:10And feed us for heaven
04:14To live with thee there
04:18What a beautiful carol
04:20Isn't it a pity that we only sing carols once a year?
04:23It is.
04:23Some of them have got very pretty tunes, haven't they?
04:25Mmm.
04:26I've got something pretty from Father Christmas.
04:28Would you like to see it?
04:28Yes.
04:29What is it?
04:30A scarf.
04:31Oh, yes.
04:32Isn't it pretty?
04:33Yes.
04:34And it's ever so long.
04:36It is, isn't it?
04:36How many times do I have to wrap it round?
04:38Well, it rather depends on how cold it is, actually.
04:40Mmm.
04:41I've got something to show you.
04:42Do you want to see my present?
04:42Yes, please.
04:43Right.
04:44Look at those smashing socks.
04:46Aren't they lovely?
04:46Mmm.
04:47Do you think these multicolour buns are warmer than the ordinary plain socks?
04:49Oh, I shouldn't think so.
04:51No?
04:51But they're more fun.
04:52Yes, aren't they, yes.
04:52Now, you haven't got time to put them on.
04:54Oh, no?
04:54Let's sing a jolly song for our friends.
04:55Have you got one in mind?
04:57Well, Maria Gibbs has asked for Old MacDonald's Farm
05:00and she sent us a lovely orange horse and a brown pig.
05:04Oh, yes.
05:04Look at that bird with one brown wing and one blue wing.
05:08Not to mention the multicoloured cat.
05:10Oh, yes.
05:11Now, I suppose you want me to make all those noises, don't you?
05:13Yes.
05:14Right.
05:15Do you think they'd help us at home?
05:16Oh, I think they will.
05:17Are you ready?
05:18Well, I'll try.
05:19Woof.
05:20Moo.
05:21Bah.
05:21Yes.
05:22Is that all right?
05:22Any more do you want?
05:23Well, we'll soon see.
05:24We'll see.
05:25Let's.
05:25Up we go.
05:27Old MacDonald had a farm.
05:29E-I-E-I-O
05:31And on that farm he had a big E-I-E-I-O
05:35With a here, there, here, there, everywhere
05:40Oh, yeah.
05:41MacDonald had a farm.
05:42E-I-E-I-O
05:44Old MacDonald had a farm.
05:47E-I-E-I-O
05:48And on that farm he had a sheep.
05:51E-I-E-I-O
05:52With a here, there, here, there, everywhere
05:56Old MacDonald had a farm.
05:59E-I-E-I-O
06:00Now, Old MacDonald had a farm.
06:03E-I-E-I-O
06:05And on that farm he had a cow.
06:07E-I-E-I-O
06:09With a moo-moo here and a moo-moo there
06:11Here, there, everywhere
06:13Oh, MacDonald, there, here, there, everywhere
06:17Oh, MacDonald had a farm.
06:23E-I-E-I-O
06:25Gosh, that was hard work.
06:27I think I've worn my out now.
06:29I'll never, I'll never moo again.
06:32Oh, well, it doesn't matter
06:33because you'll only have to squeak in our next song.
06:35Oh, that's a jolly good thing.
06:37Neil Pennington has requested Three Blind Mice
06:40and he sent us a smashing picture.
06:42Yes.
06:43And this song is especially for Jason Corrigan
06:45who's five years old
06:46and this is his very first Christmas
06:48at home with his family.
06:50So a very special Merry Christmas to you, Jason
06:52and to Neil.
06:53And here's your song.
06:54Yeah.
06:57Three blind mice
06:59Three blind mice
07:01See how they run
07:03See how they run
07:06They all run after the farmer's wife
07:08Who cut off their tail with the carving mice
07:10Have you ever seen such a thing in your life
07:13As three blind mice?
07:15Now we've got a song about three ships
07:19that went sailing by
07:20Can you remember when?
07:22Ah, that was on Christmas Day in the morning
07:24Quite right
07:25I saw three ships come sailing by
07:31On Christmas Day
07:33On Christmas Day
07:34I saw three ships come sailing by
07:37On Christmas Day in the morning
07:39And what did you think was in them then
07:42On Christmas Day
07:43On Christmas Day
07:45And what did you think was in them then
07:47On Christmas Day in the morning
07:50Three pretty girls were in them then
07:53On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day
07:55Three pretty girls were in them then
07:58On Christmas Day in the morning
08:00One could whistle and one could sing
08:03And one could play on the violin
08:06Oh, what joy were my wedding
08:09On Christmas Day in the morning
08:12Now our last picture has everything in it.
08:16Claire and Christopher Solomons
08:18I've drawn a snowman and a Christmas tree
08:20With green glitter on it, look
08:22And a sleigh with two reindeer and two Father Christmases
08:25Yeah, and a lovely red and yellow fire, look
08:29You see that?
08:29Oh, lovely
08:30Smashing
08:30I hope Mr Snowman doesn't melt
08:32Oh, no, of course he won't
08:34Not on the outside, he won't anyway
08:36Now, I think our Time to Go song
08:38Really ought to be a song about snow
08:40Do you know one?
08:41How about Jingle Bells?
08:43How about that? Good idea
08:44Jingle bells, jingle bells
08:48Jingle all the way
08:50Oh, what fun it is to ride on a one-horse open sleigh
08:54Jingle bells, jingle bells
08:57Jingle all the way
08:59Oh, what fun it is to ride on a one-horse open sleigh
09:03Dashing through the snow
09:05On a one-horse open sleigh
09:07All the fields we go
09:09Laughing all the way
09:11Bells on cocktail rings
09:14Then he stir it right
09:16What fun it is to ride and sing
09:18The flame's on tonight
09:20Jingle bells, jingle bells
