00:00Walt!
00:04Welcome to Ms. Mojo.
00:06And today, we're counting down our picks for the unresolved plot points and questions
00:10that weren't given good answers from the TV series Lost, at least within the show.
00:16So I would stare out the window into the alley, and I would see this cat looking for scraps.
00:24Number 10. How did Ben and the others have so much money?
00:28You just make friends everywhere you go, don't you?
00:32Well, I've found sometimes that friends can be significantly more dangerous than enemies, John.
00:37The mysterious island inhabitants known as the Others have access to a surprising amount of resources.
00:43Although a lot of it is left over from the Dharma Initiative after the Others killed them all,
00:49the group still has access to a surprising number of things on and off the island.
00:53Ben has access to millions of dollars in various currencies,
00:57and has apparently spent time in international hotels all over the globe.
01:02You've arranged this meeting so you could blackmail me?
01:06It's extortion if you want to get technical.
01:083.2, but why not 3.3 or 3.4?
01:11The Others have the funds to set up Shell or real companies in the USA,
01:15like Midilos Bioscience.
01:18Did the group use Dharma's research to earn their money?
01:21Did they just rob Charles Widmore?
01:23Or, where did they get the funds?
01:25Judging from the decomposition of the endometrium,
01:27I would say that the woman was somewhere in her 70s.
01:30No, actually, she's 26.
01:33What happened to her?
01:34What if I told you that you could have complete freedom and money to find out?
01:38Number 9.
01:39How did Christian slash the man in black appear off the island?
01:43I chased my father through the jungle, my dead father.
01:50Was that you?
01:53Yes, that was me.
01:54Dead people don't really stay dead on Lost.
01:57One of the most frequent apparitions is Jack's late father, Christian Shepard.
02:02Most of these appearances are the work of the smoke monster,
02:16aka the man in black, who can look like dead people on the island.
02:21However, given Christian's appearances off the island,
02:24and the man in black's inability to leave,
02:26we're left scratching our heads.
02:28How did he appear to Michael on the freighter just before it exploded?
02:32You can go now, Michael.
02:34Who are you?
02:38You could argue that it's still in the island's radius,
02:42but that doesn't explain Christian appearing to Jack at the hospital on the mainland.
02:46Was it simply a hallucination by Jack, or something more?
02:50Number 8.
02:51How does Eloise know so much about time travel?
02:54You may not like your path, Desmond,
02:56but pushing that button is the only truly great thing that you will ever do.
03:03Eloise Hawking is one of the most mysterious characters in the series.
03:08She's a former member of The Others and Daniel Faraday's mother.
03:12She also demonstrates a shocking degree of knowledge
03:15about how to get to the island and time travel.
03:18On the theoretical notion that they should stop looking for where the island was supposed to be,
03:24and start looking for where it was going to be.
03:29While the former can be chalked up to her apparent takeover of one of Dharma's stations off-island,
03:34the latter is less clear.
03:36True, her acquisition of her future son's diary in the past could explain some of it,
03:41but it doesn't explain all of it.
03:43How did she know the intimate details of Desmond's life leading up to him going to the island?
03:48Have you knew my name?
03:50Well, I know your name as well as I know that you don't ask Penny to marry you.
03:53In fact, you break her heart.
03:55Well, breaking her heart, of course, is what drives you in a few short years from now
03:59to enter that sailing race to prove her father wrong.
04:02How could she predict a death of a random stranger wearing red shoes?
04:06Did the island grant her time travel abilities?
04:09Number 7.
04:10What are Ben and Charles' rules?
04:12When one rang, I picked it up.
04:14A voice kept repeating code 14J.
04:18We need to get to the other house.
04:20It's easier to fortify and we'll have a better position on the tree lines.
04:22What are you talking about?
04:24They're here.
04:25There are many hidden sets of rules in Lost,
04:27to the point where it can be tough to keep track.
04:30But one of the most mystifying is the agreement between Ben Linus and Charles Widmore.
04:35Both men lead the others at various points.
04:37And when Widmore's man Kimi kills Ben's daughter Alex,
04:41Ben claims that Widmore has changed the rules.
04:44I don't think these people have any intentions of letting us walk out of here alive, James.
04:48No matter what we do.
04:49Well, I ain't got no intention of dying.
04:52He changed the rules.
04:54What's even more baffling is that when Ben confronts Widmore later off the island,
04:59he claims that he can't kill Charles, not won't.
05:02And yet, in the final season, Ben does just that.
05:06Were their rules merely an agreement not to kill each other or their families in their contest over the island?
05:11Or was there something supernatural preventing them from killing each other?
05:15Once she's dead,
05:17then you'll understand how I feel.
05:20And you'll wish you hadn't changed the rules.
05:26Number 6.
05:28Who killed the Ajira passengers?
05:30Don't move.
05:31Please don't hurt me.
05:34Who the hell are you?
05:38I'm the only one left.
05:40When Jack and company come back to the island,
05:42they do so on Ajira Flight 316,
05:46which lands on the smaller Hydra Island off the main island.
05:50Most of the main characters depart,
05:52leaving the confused survivors stranded there.
05:54Then, the man in black slash fake lock
05:57has Sawyer do some reconnaissance on Hydra Island.
06:00What's on Hydra Island?
06:02The plane.
06:03The Ajira flight.
06:05The same plane that brought your friends back.
06:07Unfortunately, they didn't come alone.
06:09There, Sawyer discovers that the remaining Ajira flight members
06:12have all been killed.
06:14Considering Charles Widmore arrived there on a submarine
06:17with several armed men recently,
06:19he seems like an obvious culprit.
06:21However, he denies responsibility
06:22and there are no obvious gunshot wounds.
06:26How little do you actually know?
06:28Well, I know you murdered all them people out there
06:30and dropped them in a ditch.
06:31We didn't murder those people.
06:33But I don't expect you to believe that.
06:35Good, I don't.
06:36Could fake lock have gone all smoke thing
06:39and thrown them around?
06:40He certainly didn't let on
06:42and we don't know for sure.
06:43Number five.
06:44What's up with the cabin?
06:46Look at the ash.
06:54Wait here.
06:54There are many strange and mysterious structures on the island.
06:58One of them is a cabin in the woods.
07:00It's initially believed to be connected
07:02with the island's immortal protector, Jacob,
07:05thanks to some deception by Ben.
07:07Help me.
07:08What did you just say?
07:19However, the cabin is actually used more frequently
07:21by Jacob's nemesis, the man in black,
07:24aka the smoke monster.
07:26There are many unanswered questions about the cabin.
07:29Like when was the circle of ash around it broken?
07:32The ash is meant to repel or maybe trap the monster.
07:35Also, who was the other person in the cabin
07:38when Hurley looked through the window?
07:40And how can the dang thing teleport?
07:42There's nothing here.
07:44There's nothing here.
07:46There's nothing here.
07:49Number four.
07:51What's the deal with all the unexplained objects and animals?
07:54You know that horse freckles?
08:00Yeah, I do.
08:01There are so many individual random objects
08:03and animals throughout Lost that receive no explanation
08:06that we thought we'd just lump them all into one entry.
08:10Several animals that appear in the character's flashbacks
08:12show up on the island with no apparent explanation,
08:15like the black horse that Kate recognizes
08:17or the cat from Sayid's past.
08:20Likewise, there are several bizarrely out-of-place objects
08:23that the show calls attention to that are unexplained.
08:26Why is there a toy truck in the polar bear cave,
08:28whose glass eye was in the Aero Dharma station?
08:31What was that? Get it.
08:37What else is in here?
08:40It's a glass eye.
08:42And before you say old patch face McHale,
08:45his missing eye is scabbed over.
08:47If these things weren't supposed to be important,
08:49why draw so much attention to them?
08:51Here's a better question to ask Cyclops.
08:53Why did your little friend Ben tell you people
08:56that this entire station was flooded when it isn't?
08:59Or, why these two have been jamming transmissions off the island?
09:02Number three.
09:04What are Mother's origins and abilities?
09:06Do you love me, Jacob?
09:13Yes.
09:15Then tell me what happened.
09:16For as mysterious as Jacob and the man in black are,
09:20the duo's adoptive, unnamed mother is even more of a question mark.
09:24According to her, she wasn't born on the island.
09:27So where was she from?
09:28She's the earliest known protector of the island.
09:31But who passed the job on to her?
09:33Was it her own dead mother?
09:34Perhaps the biggest questions of all relate to her attempt
09:37to stop the man in black from leaving the island.
09:40Please don't do this.
09:45Don't go.
09:46I have to go.
09:49Why?
09:49Because I don't belong here.
09:51To stop him leaving, Mother somehow manages to fill in his well
09:54and massacres his entire village single-handedly.
09:58Could she become the smoke monster too?
10:00Was the mother somehow both the protector and the smoke monster
10:03before both of her sons?
10:04Every question leads to another question.
10:07Am I good, Mother?
10:11Yes.
10:13Of course you are.
10:17Why do you love him more than me?
10:20Number two.
10:21Who shot at Locke's group in the Outrigger?
10:24How far is this place?
10:26Around that point.
10:28Not more than a couple hours.
10:30Oh, joy.
10:31During season five, a group left behind on the island
10:34after the Oceanic Six leave
10:36begins skipping through various time periods.
10:39During one skip, the group, led by Locke,
10:42arrives at their old camp at some time
10:44after the Agera flight crashes in 2007.
10:47They find two Outrigger canoes used by unknown people.
10:51Where did these come from?
10:53That's a good question.
10:54Pretty old.
10:56Not that old.
10:58Let me see that.
10:59Agera.
11:04Agera.
11:05It's an airline.
11:06After taking one row to the Orchid Station,
11:09they're pursued by the apparent owners of the canoes
11:11and shot at.
11:12While in the water,
11:13they experience another time shift,
11:15escaping their attackers.
11:17Battle harder!
11:18They're getting closer!
11:19Who these mysterious people were
11:28has never been officially revealed.
11:30Theories on their identities have ranged
11:32from the Agera survivors,
11:34to Widmore's group,
11:35to the Others,
11:36to even sailors from the 19th century slaver ship,
11:39the Black Rock.
11:40Before we unveil our top pick,
11:42here are a few honorable mentions.
11:44Why didn't Russo recognize Ben?
11:46You'd think she'd remember the guy
11:48who abducted her daughter.
11:49He's one of them.
11:50I have no idea what she's talking about.
11:52She's crazy.
11:54How long has he been up there?
11:55Since last night.
11:57Please just cut me down.
11:58How did Penny learn about the island?
12:00Sure, her dad was also looking for it,
12:02but how did she connect it to Desmond?
12:05I know about the island.
12:07I've been researching.
12:08And then when I spoke to your friend Charlie,
12:12that's when I knew you were still alive.
12:15How did Ben know about the frozen wheel?
12:17It was hidden behind a chamber
12:19that was built when he was a kid.
12:20I hope you're happy now, Jacob.
12:29How did Russo never run into the Dharma Initiative?
12:31They built things all over
12:33and were still around when she arrived.
12:35What is this?
12:38We were hoping you could tell us.
12:40I've never seen anything like it.
12:41Was David Shepard a real person?
12:43He's not Jack's son, sure.
12:45But who or what was he?
12:47Someone else's kid?
12:48An angel?
12:49I need to go see my son.
12:52You don't have a son.
12:52What?
12:57You don't have a son, Jack.

13:10make sure you go into your settings
13:12and switch on notifications.
13:15Number one.
13:16What is Walt's entire deal?
13:18Walt, I understand what you've had to go through.
13:20I know the difficulties you've had
13:23pretending to be someone that you're not.
13:25Several characters during Lost
13:27display supernatural abilities,
13:29like being able to see the dead or immortality.
13:32However, the uncanniest and least explored abilities
13:35are those of Walt.
13:37The boy is repeatedly stated to be special
13:39and his apparent powers certainly back that up.
13:41Walt appears to several characters,
13:43despite being miles away
13:45and even after he's left the island entirely.
13:48You can move your legs.
13:49Now get out of the ditch, John.
13:53Why?
13:55Because you have work to do.
13:56Is this some form of astral projection?
13:59Is he consciously doing it?
14:01Likewise, Walt seems aware of things
14:03he can't possibly know,
14:04such as when he warns Locke not to open the hatch,
14:07despite never seeing or hearing about it.
14:09Don't open it.
14:12What'd you say?
14:12Don't open it, Mr. Locke.
14:13Don't open that thing.
14:16What thing?
14:17Just don't open it.
14:18Is he some kind of psychic?
14:20We'll probably never know,
14:22but hopefully his return to the island
14:23can help Walt understand his own abilities.
14:26Is there a piece of the lost puzzle
14:28that continues to puzzle you?
14:30We'll have no idea
14:31if you won't tell us in the comments.
14:33I have no idea
14:35because you wouldn't tell me, Mother.
14:37Let's go, Mother.
14:37Let's do it.
14:38All right.
14:40Come on.
14:44Bye.
14:45Bye.
14:49Bye.
14:52Bye.
