00:26The Commission on Elections has officially resumed the printing of ballots for the first-ever Bangsamoro parliamentary election set on October 13.
00:36A total of 2.25 million ballots will be produced for voters across the six provinces in the special geographic area of Barm.
00:44Comelect Chairperson George Garcia says two high-capacity machines are working daily, with a target completion by September 15.
00:52The printing process is accompanied by a thorough verification to ensure ballot integrity and accuracy.
00:59Once verified, the ballots will be turned over to the Packing and Shipping Committee with deployments starting September 5.
01:06Officials assure the public that every safeguard is in place to guarantee a credible and orderly election.
01:11The National Police Commission announced Thursday it will issue a resolution affirming the appointment of Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartates Jr.
01:22as Acting Chief of the Philippine National Police.
01:24According to NAPOLCOM Vice Chairperson Rafael Vicente Calinisan,
01:29the move is meant to ensure that Nartates can exercise full powers and discretion in leading the police force,
01:35unlike an officer in charge who is limited to routine functions.
01:39The development comes after President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. removed General Nicholas Torrey III as PNP Chief,
01:47though Torres still retains his four-star rank while remaining in active service.

01:58American has been jolted anew by one more tragic episode of gun violence whose victims are mostly grade school kids.
02:05The first week of the start of the year in the U.S. was marred by this latest horrific act of premediated murder
02:13and gun violence in South Minneapolis that left two school kids, ages 8 and 10, dead.
02:19And 14 other school or classmates and three adult parishioners wounded.
02:23The victims were inside the church of the Annunciation of West 54th Street hearing mass
02:28when the murder suspect and gunman, a 2017 grade school graduate of the same school,
02:34opened fire from the outside as he aimed at the church's stained glass window,
02:38where a few feet inside mass goers sat and knelt on the poos.
02:42An act of sheer cruelty to begin with, punctuated by the height of cowardice
02:46when he turned on himself to escape the consequences of his heinous crime.
02:50Now, hundreds of murderers try to make sense of such a rational act
02:55and contemplate the impact on the grieving families and survivors whose lives shall never be the same again.
