00:23The preparations for the first barm parliamentary elections of the Commission on Elections, or COMELEC, is now in full swing.
00:33As a matter of fact, the deployment of the official ballots and the automated counting machines began today.
00:39Ngayon po, magde-deploy kami ng ating mga kagamitan, papuntang Tawi-Tawi. Medyo malayo-layo po kasi ang Tawi-Tawi.
00:46At syempre susunod na po yung Maguindanao, pagkatapos ang Basilan, Lanao at sa Special Geographic.
00:53The batteries of the machines and other election paraphernalia were deployed within the last month.
00:59The COMELEC targets to finish the deployment within the region by the end of September.
01:04Meanwhile, Chairman George Erwin Garcia said, as of now, barm is still generally peaceful even though it is still on its campaign period.
01:13There are 12 areas of concern under the red category.
01:16But COMELEC said numbers may change depending on the peace and order within the region.
01:21The issue on the redistribution of the parliamentary districts remains to be a hot debate between political parties in BARM.
01:43But the Paul body insisted that for their part, they will abide by the original law passed by the BARM government wherein only 73 seats for district representatives will be included in the elections.
01:55Basta ang COMELEC, ang pinaghahandaan, ang aming preparasyon ay 73, and therefore, may nag-challenge na po sa Korte Suprema.
