Man winched to safety after sinking into mud

The 49-year-old man was attempting to rescue cattle on his property, after 2pm on August 27, 2025, when he entered a dam and began to sink into the mud.

00:20Crews from the local police, Fire Rescue Victoria,

00:23Country Fire Authority and Ambulance Victoria

00:26were joined by state emergency service volunteers in freeing the man.

00:30The man was winched to safety via the police air wing helicopter

00:34and was then transported to hospital.
