00:00La Vuelta resumes with a similar stage to Sunday.
00:05A lumpy outing featuring a summit finish, this time at Talala Belagwa.
00:09Remco Evenepoel won there two years ago in an addition that was dominated by Vismalisa bike.
00:15Sepp Kuss took victory ahead of Jonas Vingegaard.
00:18Well this time the American is trying to help the Dane win the race,
00:21but they are in no major hurry to recover the red jersey.
00:25For now I mean every bit of energy you can save is good.
00:29But yeah I think until now us in Bahrain we've had a good collaboration at times,
00:34especially in the starts making sure the right move goes.
00:38And yeah I think when we can help each other out of it like that then it's always good for both.
00:46Over at UAE Joao Almeida felt he was lacking a bit of support on Sunday
00:50and it's been announced that Juan Ayuso will leave the team at the end of the season.
00:55Turbulent times indeed, but Almeida remains at beat.
00:59Hard week ahead, lots of uphill finishes.
01:03If there are no time differences, for sure they're going to count in the legs.
01:07So we're going to do our best.
01:09Tom Pidcock was one of the big winners on Sunday, jumping up to fourth overall.
01:13And his teammate David de la Cruz says week two could potentially be decisive.
01:18I think there's still a long way to go at this Vuelta.
01:25And this week is very tough with today's stage, then Bilbao, Angleru, La Farapona.
01:30So the GC riders will probably try to ride more conservatively at the end of the stage,
01:34especially as it's not a climb where you can open at big gaps.
01:37I think it's one for the breakaway, to be honest.
01:46We are pretty much halfway through this Vuelta 25, but there's still plenty of action to come.
01:51Stage 10 is 175 kilometers with two categorized climbs.
01:55First, the Alto de las Coronas, and then Lara Belagua, which is 9.4K at 6.3%.
02:01But will it throw up more surprises, like Sunday?
02:06Well, today saw the biggest battle of the race so far to get into the breakaway.
02:09An early average speed of 50 kilometers an hour.
02:12Mateo Jorgensen was among the riders caught up in this crash.
02:16And while the American was okay, Raul Garcia Piena, sitting 14th overall this morning, was forced to abandon.
02:22After several more attempts, the GC riders were suddenly on high alert,
02:28as Vingegaard attacked with Victor Kampenaerts.
02:30Visma Lisa bike once again looking to catch out their rivals.
02:40Oh la la la!
02:41One rider there from Group Armour FDJ, taking the Musette.
02:45Coming down, that was a really heavy fall.
02:47All Vingegaard was soon brought back by the Red Jersey group, so panic over for the time being.
02:53After a brief lull, a group of around 30 managed to get a small gap, with lots of different teams represented.
03:01This looked like the move of the day.
03:03Well, they were soon approaching the first climb of Las Coronas, over 8 kilometers at 4.4%.
03:09A very handy looking group indeed at the front, with the King of the Mountains, Jay Vine, Pablo Castillo, Louis Fafaka and Kevin Vermarca.
03:19Michael Kwiatkowski was also up there with Sean Quinn, Bruno Armirai and Harold Tajada.
03:24While the best placed man overall was Junior Lacer, 4 minutes and 21 down on Torstein train.
03:29The gap creeping up to 2 minutes, as one man decided to go it alone.
03:35Javier Romo from Movistar is trying to break away from the group of 30.
03:41While Vine setting off in pursuit of Romo as they approach the summit.
03:47The Spaniard resisting and taking three King of the Mountains points at the top.
03:52Two for Vine to slightly increase his lead.
03:56Well, the Australian caught the Spaniard on the descent, with the gap back to the Red Jersey group, now up to 3 minutes.
04:08Well, Vine and Romo were soon caught by six more riders.
04:11Castillo, Bernard, Ryan, Asparan, Conchi and Balderstone.
04:15And it looked like they would be going for the stage, as Bahrain Victorious weren't chasing too earnestly in the bunch.
04:23Vermarca and Alex Segart also made it back to the front before the intermediate sprint.
04:27So ten riders now in the breakaway.
04:29And Segart even decided to anticipate going solo before the final climb.
04:36A huge move from the front group here from Alex Segart.
04:40Taking an absolute flyer to try and get himself up the road and try and launch himself.
04:44Away from such a strong group of riders.
04:51Well, Segart began Lara Belagua with around 40 seconds on the rest of the breakaway.
04:55The peloton was still over three minutes down.
04:59The chase was somewhat disorganised for the time being.
05:01Further back though, UAE were increasing the pace in the peloton with Ayuso working for Almeida.
05:07Well, Segart was eventually caught and dropped by Castillo.
05:16The Movistar man making his bid for glory with 7.5km to go.
05:20He had a problem though and it was wearing polka dots.
05:23The Spaniard joined by Vine who was looking the fresher of the two.
05:28Torstein Trane was unable to stay with the rest of the GC group as Vine sailed away from Castillo at the front.
05:34The Australian on course for another Vuelta double.
05:37In the favourites group Almeida was upping the pressure but Vingegaard was right there on the wheel and ultimately there would be no major gaps.
05:48Trane though would be saying goodbye to that red jersey.
05:51Castillo giving everything but he wouldn't catch Vine who was preparing to celebrate his fourth Vuelta stage win and UAE's fourth of this edition.
06:02The man leading the King of the Mountains classification Jay Vine is going to win at the top of the Alto del Belagua.
06:09An incredibly fast stage here on stage ten to start week two of Love Vuelta.
06:14For the second time at this Vuelta Jay Vine proved the strongest man in the breakaway and the King of the Mountains was in a league of his own on the final climb.
06:24The 29 year old doubling up just as he did in 2022 on another good day for UAE.
06:30They were lively throughout even if Almeida wasn't quite able to drop his rivals in the final.
06:35In this sport success has to be earned.
06:38Winning is so so hard and it's such an incredible feeling when it happens and no I don't think I'll ever get used to winning because it's just unbelievably hard.
07:00Vine taking his 11th career win by 35 seconds from Castillo with the GC group at 1 minute 05 and Trane at 2 minutes 08.
07:10Vingegaard is therefore back in red and leads the race by 26 seconds from the Norwegian.
07:16Almeida and Pidcock are both within one minute of the Dane.
07:19Not much action at the top of the points classification today. Mads Pedersen still has a nine point lead over Ethan Vernon.
07:29Paul Vine has tightened his grip on the polka dot jersey. He is now 23 clear of his nearest challenger, Louis Fafaka.
07:37And it's close in the youth standings. Only 27 seconds separating Julio Pellizzari and Matthew Riccitello.
07:47Tomorrow we'll enjoy a mini classic around Bilbao. Join us for that on Wednesday and thanks for watching.
07:52Thanks for watching.
