00:00Good evening, everyone. It's a pleasure to be in El Salvador. I've spent the day here
00:20at a series of meetings. I just finished meeting with the Minister of Justice. Later tonight,
00:27I will be meeting with President Bukele. And I am here for a number of reasons. One, to strengthen
00:34the strong friendship and alliance between the United States and El Salvador. El Salvador is a
00:42critical partner for the United States. We have closely aligned interests. And I will say the job
00:51that President Bukele is doing here is truly extraordinary. The success in terms of reducing
01:00crimes, reducing murders, and taking on gangs that were terrorizing the people of El Salvador.
01:08The success is truly amazing. It is a demonstration of what leadership can do when you focus
01:16on the number one priority of keeping your citizens safe, protecting the men and women
01:23you were elected to represent. And I will say, President Bukele's close alliance with the
01:30United States, helping us together stand against these transnational gangs, these transnational
01:36cartels that have murdered far too many people here in El Salvador and have murdered far too
01:42many people in the United States.
01:49Good afternoon. It's a great pleasure to be here in El Salvador. I have had a series of meetings.
01:55I just met with the Minister of Justice and later I will meet with President Bukele.
04:06U.S.
04:08Y, U.S., I think Americans are grateful for Presidente Bukele
04:11for being willing to take violent MS-13 gang members and gang leaders,
04:17to take custody of them, and to ensure that they are brought to justice.
04:22U.S.
04:24MS-13 and violent gangs commit horrific crimes in the United States.
04:30U.S.
04:31We have seen them rape and murder Americans.
04:35U.S.
04:36We have seen them peddling poison and engaging in human trafficking.
04:46has declared MS-13
04:48as a terrorist organization.
04:51We are bringing the full force
04:52of American law enforcement
04:54to stopping
04:56these violent gangs and violent cartels.
04:59And President Bukele
05:00is a very important ally
05:02in bringing that same seriousness
05:04of purpose that we
05:06will not allow violent
05:08terrorist criminal organizations
05:11to murder our citizens.
05:12Well, it is a proposal
05:15that has a lot of sense.
05:20The United States
05:22will focus on all the force
05:24of the law
05:25to stop these people
05:27that just the President Trump
05:29has named as terrorists.
05:32And we know that
05:33they have committed
05:34a series of crimes horrendous
05:36like violations,
05:39treatment of people,
05:40and we know that
05:42the President Bukele
05:43that is a great ally
05:45that is not going to tolerate
05:47the violence
05:48and that
05:49when they come
05:51to these people
05:52to confront
05:53the justice
05:54they will fall
05:55to the weight of the law.
05:59The next question.
06:00The Diary of Today.
06:01Jessica Aval.
06:06Buenas tardes.
06:08Agentes federales
06:10estadounidenses
06:11encontraron
06:12evidencia
06:12en El Salvador
06:13de que el Presidente
06:15Bukele
06:15en ese momento
06:16negoci贸
06:17con la MS-13
06:18que hizo un pacto
06:19le dio beneficios
06:20y m谩s adelante
06:22tambi茅n se ha comprobado
06:23y eso consta
06:23en una corte
06:24de Nueva York
06:24que fue liberado
06:26un cabecilla
06:26de pandillas
06:27que todav铆a
06:28ten铆a pendientes
06:29cr铆menes
06:29por pagar.
06:31Mi pregunta es
06:32驴conf铆a
06:33en Estados Unidos
06:34en un aliado
06:35que en el pasado
06:36pact贸
06:37con una organizaci贸n
06:38terrorista?
06:40Federal agents
06:42found evidence
06:43that Presidente
06:44Bukele
06:44negotiated
06:45with the MS-13
06:47gang
06:48and that
06:49a gang leader
06:50was released
06:51from a U.S.
06:52prison
06:53and
06:55would you trust
06:57an ally
06:58that has
06:59negotiated
07:00with gangs?
07:02Well,
07:02I will say
07:03the job
07:03President Bukele
07:04is doing
07:05right now
07:05taking on
07:06the gangs
07:07going after
07:08the gang

11:48El
11:48Salvador
11:48in both
11:49instances
11:49you have
11:50a leader

12:30been
12:30a
12:31one
12:31aliado
12:31responding
12:32to
12:33a
12:33crisis
12:34that
12:34existed
12:36and
12:37so
12:37because
12:38we had
12:38the
12:39president
12:39In the previous meeting, Joe Biden, who remained open borders and there was a cruise of immigrants,
12:4712 million immigrants, among them there were murderers, assassins, violators,
12:54many US citizens were victims of this.
12:58After taking the position of President Trump,
13:02the border border has reduced 99%.
13:07And that marks the difference between having a leader that effectively applies the law
13:14and a person that simply has the borders open borders.
13:20And as I said earlier, the main function of our leaders is to protect our citizens.
13:27The last question, the Prensa Graphic, Denny Cortina.
13:31Good afternoon.
13:33I just wanted to repeat your response in relation to what the company asked
13:37about the investigation that the Fuerza of Tarea Vulcano has done in relation
13:41to the administration of Bukele with Pandilleros,
13:44as you mentioned, the results in reduction of suicidions are innegable
13:49and are at the vista.
13:51So, on the one hand, there is the reduction of suicidions
13:55and on the other hand, there is the investigation of
13:58US citizens that have given faith and that it is true that
14:04have occurred pacts between the administration of Bukele and Pandillas.
14:08No matter the way in which they get the results,
14:12with that there are results,
14:14or how do you value it then,
14:16that it is the same Fuerza of Tarea Vulcano
14:19impulsed by President Trump
14:20that has discovered the pact between the administration of Bukele and Pandillas?
14:24So, I want to mention again the investigation carried out by the Vulcano Task Force.
14:34And they found evidence that President Bukele had a pact with the gangs,
14:41that he had negotiated with the gangs.
14:43And, of course, as you mentioned, homicides have been reduced, undoubtedly.
14:51But, on the one hand, you have that,
14:53and on the other hand, you have this negotiation with the gang.
14:59What do you think of that?
15:01Since it's the Vulcano Task Force that investigated and found out this evidence.
15:08So, I'm not going to speak to internal matters within El Salvador.
15:13But what I am going to say is the results are compelling.
15:18The results are unprecedented.
15:21When you go from the murder capital of the world,
15:24the country with the highest rate of homicide of any country on planet Earth,
15:30to what we have now, one of the safest countries in the world.
15:35In just a few years.
15:37That is astonishing. That is staggering.
15:41And that is cause for celebration.
15:43It is cause for celebration.
15:44There is a reason President Bukele was re-elected with such overwhelming margins.
15:50And it's cause for celebration.
15:52When I was meeting with the Minister of Justice,
15:54he was describing how other countries in Central America and South America
15:59are reaching out to El Salvador saying,
16:01how do we achieve results like you have here?
16:04How do we take on the cartels?
16:06How do we take on the gangs?
16:08How do we take on the murderers and criminals who are targeting our citizens?
16:12And that is because the results have been tremendous.
16:17The same is true in the United States.
16:19When our illegal border crossings drop 99%, the results speak for themselves.
16:27I represent the great state of Texas.
16:30The United States has a southern border that is 2,000 miles long.
16:34More than half of it.
16:361,200 miles of that is the state of Texas.
16:39There's no state in the United States who felt the pain, the harm, the consequences of illegal immigration
16:48more than the state of Texas over the last four years.
16:52And so we're seeing firsthand the results of a strong president following the law.
16:58And I will say here, the murder rate dropping 98% in El Salvador
17:05demonstrates that the approach of the government is working and it's keeping the citizens safer.
17:12That's a good thing.
17:14I will not refer to the internal issues of El Salvador.
17:20I will not refer to the internal issues.
17:21I will not refer to the internal issues of El Salvador.
17:23I will not refer to the internal issues of El Salvador.
17:24The results that you have had have been unprecedented.
17:27The people feel more safe.
17:29And as we said, we had a low 98% of the victims.
17:41I will not refer to the internal issues of El Salvador.
17:48And as you know in the United States, that there are still not theIVE people who have had
17:52good results and that there are much reduced the legal cruises of the border
17:59and where, as I said, they were members of the cartels,
18:03the pandillas, etc.
18:06I represent the great state of Texas,
18:10which has in the South border 2,000 miles of narco
18:13and 1,200 of these are from Texas.
18:20No there is no state that has felt so much the pain
18:24of all these people who crossed illegally
18:26and who committed crimes against the citizens of the United States.
18:33And that's why we feel very happy to have these strong presidents
18:38and that apply the law.
18:41Well, thank you very much.
