00:00The Albanese government had been resisting calls to expel the ambassador, but when ASIO
00:07yesterday advised Iran was behind these two attacks, it had no choice. These were attacks
00:13on Australian soil and social cohesion. Appalling, shocking, totally unacceptable, said the Prime
00:19Minister. His anger was clear. Kicking out the ambassador and listing Iran's Revolutionary
00:25Guard Corps as a terrorist organisation are big steps. And this move follows a painstaking
00:30investigation. Back in January, the Federal Police Commissioner pointed to the possible
00:35involvement of foreign actors paying local criminals to carry out the attacks. Encrypted
00:41communications and cryptocurrency transactions were tracked. Five Eyes and other international
00:46partners were engaged in the investigation. And then in recent weeks, two young Victorian
00:52men were charged in relation to the Adas Israel synagogue attack. Now Iran has been named
00:58as ultimately responsible. The government has long warned against foreign conflicts being
01:03brought here. Now it believes Iran itself has done just that.
