00:00Hello I'm Nathan Juder, I'm here with the Wolves Report, it is Mr Liam Keane. Liam at 25 minutes
00:14in I didn't think this game would finish 3-2 but it did baby. The cavalry were brought on and a
00:20beautiful brace from a guy we haven't heard a lot about this week in Mr Jorgen Streilarsson.
00:24It feels good to get a win, it feels really good. Wolves look destined for a loss up until
00:32the 82nd minute when Larson equalised at 2-1 down. They had all of the ball, had all of
00:37the pressure but it's really a story of Wolves' start to the season and the majority of this
00:40game where they had very little attacking threat. Larson and other players that come on make
00:46an instant impact. It's a massive win, it really really is. Look the Cowlack Cup is not going
00:52to be Wolves' priority of the season by any means whatsoever but for Wolves to have a little
00:56bit of that confidence, build a little bit of momentum and have striker score goals in the
01:01first place because he's a striker but secondly because of what's been going on this week and
01:04all the interest in him is a massive thing for this football club. So long make it continue,
01:09yeah a really really good end to the game. Seems a long time ago when it was 0-0 there
01:13and there wasn't a lot in the game and all of a sudden a penalty from nowhere
01:15and up steps captain for the day, Hwangi Chan. Yeah and he hits it hard, he hits it low and
01:22just gets the angle off and hits the post and I feel a little bit sorry for him to be honest
01:27because he can't catch a break at the same time his performances do need to be better. I thought
01:30he was okay at parts in this game and then you have moments like a free kick in the second half
01:34in front of the south bank where he makes a complete mess of it and that doesn't help the
01:38narrative of fans criticising him really. And cheering when the board went up and it's difficult,
01:43difficult for anyone to hear that. I think it's slightly unfair to him and I do feel sorry for
01:47him but at the same time his performance has got to be slightly better as well. Yeah he misses that
01:51and Wolves are fortunate really, we're fortunate that Rodriguez Gomez is the quickest person to it.
01:55He does really well to react quickly, instinctive, catches the ball well enough to get it on target.
02:01Areola I think actually should do better and probably save it. He's been in his near post,
02:05gets a strong hand on it as well but Wolves go 1-0 up and who cares because they're going to defend
02:09the next half really well aren't they? They go 1-0 up against a team devoid of confidence
02:15a long way away from home and all of a sudden find themselves 2-1 down and these mistakes especially
02:19at the back just cannot happen and they can't be in the Premier League, they can't happen tonight,
02:22you're going to get punished whatever team's coming. Yeah, West Ham obviously struggling
02:26confidence-wise in a similar position really to Wolves and for the vast majority of this game they
02:31look really poor actually and they've played a strong team and then to gift them a way back into the game,
02:37initially with the first goal, it's a cross from the right hand side, Walker Piaz puts it in,
02:42I think he's allowed to get it in too easily first of all and secondly Rodrigo Gomez, look it's a
02:48mismatch with him against Thomas Suchek at the far post but at the same time he loses him and it's
02:53an easy header. The second one again disappointed from that right hand side again, Bowen picks the
02:57ball and crosses it and this one's even worse defending wise, Paqueta just ghosts in between
03:02Mosquera and Agvedu, ages of space, I think he's closer to Agvedu than he is Mosquera but you know
03:08you've got to have some sort of communication, you've got to have someone take control of the
03:10situation and it's a far too easy goal to concede, so it's a really concerning goal to concede actually
03:16but we're fortunate that we're not talking about a 2-1 defeat because it very easy could have been that.
03:19We're not and look quadruple substitution, the cavalry are called, two players I think
03:23obviously we're going to talk about Jürgenström last but someone impressed me on Saturday with his
03:27positioning that's Jackson Tattoo as well, really quick stretch the game, look his delivery still needs to be a little bit better,
03:32but in terms of Wolves lacking any raw pace he's got abundance of it and I felt like he stretched
03:37the game and that's exactly what Wolves needed, it needed something just to get these fans off the
03:41seats because it was just so tepid all the time and then of course Jürgenström last in the class act
03:46that he is scoring an important double, two in two minutes. Yeah I agree on Jackson Tattoo,
03:50I completely agree on that, a couple moments actually when Wolves already 3-2 up when they were on the
03:53break and they had an opportunity to try and to catch West Ham when they were pushing obviously trying
03:59try and get an equaliser, I mean he's rapid, got right down here and created a couple of opportunities.
04:04The first one is a really good finish actually from Larsson, Andre catches the shot, Ariella saves
04:10it straight into Larsson's path, it's not the best of goalkeeping but he has to stretch for it,
04:14he's kind of on the floor, he's on the way down, on the way down during it and he catches it into the
04:18roof of the net with his left foot as well, so a really good finish actually and the second one is
04:24vintage isn't it, it's classic. Yeah beautiful, yeah classic. Arias has a shot saved who I thought
04:28was a bit more lively in the second half actually. Second half he did, yeah. Yeah first half not his
04:31best but lively in the second, Arias gets a shot saved, you know it's straight at Ariella but it's
04:36pretty hard, hard shot, you know he's caught it well, he's hit it well and Tattoo picks up on the
04:41right-hand side, picks the rebound up and just whips it to the near post and it's an accurate enough of
04:46a cross to allow Larsson just to position his body and make a little run on the defender and he's strong,
04:50he's powerful, he muscles, he gets in there and he gets that head in their post and this plate erupts,
04:54the dugout erupts, the subs are all running on and that's why we watch football and that's what
04:59needs to return to this stadium, to this team, that kind of heart and that fight. And that's
05:03what they need to do now, lucky say Carabao Cup not on the top list of priorities but what they do
05:06need to do is for this to galvanise them going into a very important game now, a Premier League game
05:10on Saturday which is where the money is made. Yeah 100%, Wolves' Seas is not going to be make or break
05:15on the Carabao Cup, I hope I'm wrong, we look back on this in a few months time. Wembley! Wembley!
05:20But I find that hard to believe, what is very easy to believe is that Wolves' season will hinge
05:25very much so on the Premier League and games like at home to Everton or at home to Leeds coming up
05:30in a few weeks in September. So these kind of games are big, this result will do the world of good
05:34going into that but that's the bread and butter, that's where you've got to get results and that's
05:38where, not more importantly the results but more importantly from an optics perspective moving
05:42forward, a performance. We need a performance on Saturday and the result hopefully should come with that.
05:47Monday morning, bid into Wolves, £50 million for Jorgenstrand Larsson, what's that, what's that
05:51what's that price at the moment? They're probably looking at this going,
05:54okay, right, okay, might have to increase it slightly. Newcastle won't be the best players,
05:59I'm sure Wolves will be delighted. It is. Wolverhampton Wanderers 3, West Ham 2,
06:03for all the post-match reaction make sure you log on to Expressenstar. I can't do it because
06:07it's the camera company, it doesn't matter. Come!
