00:05good enough to go to a lot of different teams but not good enough to stay with the teams that want
00:10him it's sort of bizarre here as the browns trade him and um look the raiders needed a backup i get
00:17it aiden o'connell's out he'll be back at some point you can't go into a season with no one as
00:22your backup quarterback and so the raiders get kenny pickett so two levels here we'll start off
00:27with pickett his future mike it seems to be like very clear he's going to be very wanted as a backup
00:33quarterback probably for the next 10 years but nobody wants him more enough to i guess to keep
00:39him on the team for the for the entire season and do you think the browns made a statement here with
00:43any of their backup quarterbacks well i think first of all uh to take the second question i think the
00:49browns said that they liked the track of shader sanders uh at dylan gabriel uh had a really nice
00:57preseason and if shader had been able to go through inter uninterrupted if the second game hadn't been
01:02lost because of injury maybe we'd be saying the same about him but he had a nice first game no second
01:08game and then a pretty disastrous third game and one of the things that it did say was to all the
01:13people who were conjuring uh some sort of conspiracy theories about how they were uh they they weren't all
01:20in on on sanders or they were being unfair to him because he played terribly and and they gave
01:26another quarterback huntley uh a few snaps at the end it was a preposterous construct that one of
01:31the silliest things i've seen on twitter and and as you know uh there's a lot of silly stuff lying
01:37around these days so uh the fact that they kept sanders said that they're that they're confident in
01:44him as a number three at minimum and this is not a great quarterback situation for them you know
01:50they're going to be back in the pool and next year's draft and so uh it says to everybody
01:56flacco probably uh has one last year in him and then the two young guys can fight it out next year
02:03with whoever they draft uh for as for kenny pickett in all honesty craig if if the stealers hadn't made
02:10the colossal mistake of turning a player who was at best a second round pick uh into a first round pick
02:17this would sort of be what we'd expect from kenny he was bound to be a career backup and a very good
02:24one uh if you've got kenny pickett as your number two you have reason to be relatively comfortable
02:29especially now that the stealers gave him that opportunity and so you saw him for 20 some games
02:35and you know what the baseline is you know that's a pretty reasonable baseline for a backup quarterback
02:41but he should never have been a one the stealers really botched it on that one it was just sort
02:47of hoping uh that it would work out nothing said that it would in relative to his skill and ability
02:53he his his skill and ability said career backup and that's what he'll be
