00:41o kasanayan ng mga bansang miyembro ng Association of Southeast Asian Nations o ASEAN.

00:49It is with great pride and joy that I welcome you all here to Manila.

00:54As a great way for learning collaboration and cultural exchange,

01:02the WorldSkills ASEAN serves as a stage where young people push their limits,

01:08competing not only for medals but for the pride of their nations.

01:12Exciting ang event.

01:14Ito kasi ang pangalawang beses na mag-o-host ang Pilipinas.

01:18Halos atlong dekada nang nakalipas mula ng huling ganapin sa bansa ang kompetisyon noong 1996.

01:26Nasa 300 competitors ang maglalaban para sa 22 skill areas.

01:32Nakasentro sa 6 na sektor ng TVET o Technical and Vocational Education and Training.

01:39Kabilang ang creative arts and fashion, gaya ng pagalingan sa digital game art,

01:46transportation and logistics, pahu-science sa automobile technology,

01:52manufacturing and engineering kung saan aariba ang robotics,

01:57kasama rin ang information and communications technology,

02:01tampog ang mga eksperto sa cyber security.

02:03Hindi rin mawawala ang cooking at iba pang social and personal services skill competition.

02:11Ayon kay Pangulong Marcos,

02:13mahalaga ang paligsahan para maibida ang galing ng mga Pinoy sa ASEAN.

02:19Mula sa Pilipinas, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam

02:30at sa unang pagkakataon, sasali rin ang Timor Leste.

02:35His skills are the new global currency.

02:39They are the foundation of innovation and the engine of industry.

02:44Skills are more valuable than oil, more enduring than gold, more transformative than any technology.

02:51And this is why we hold events such as this, to invest in our people, nurture their talents,

02:59and give them opportunities to further grow.
