00:00:00Previously on Project Runway All-Stars.
00:00:14This is crazy.
00:00:16Y'all, the original carousel is in the house.
00:00:18Oh, gee, Nora!
00:00:19Oh, my God!
00:00:20Coming back after 18 years is very surreal.
00:00:26Hi, everybody.
00:00:27You are the ones that I wanted to see again.
00:00:32This really is the most talented group of designers we've ever had.
00:00:36It's going to be the most difficult, competitive season yet.
00:00:40It's showtime, baby.
00:00:41Nobody up here has taken home the grand prize.
00:00:44So this is your shot at redemption.
00:00:47Oh, my God!
00:00:48Reinvent the look that got you eliminated.
00:00:52Oh, Jesus!
00:00:54That's yours?
00:00:55Oh!
00:00:57Oh, the trauma.
00:01:03Fashion designer Christian Siriano, journalist Elaine Welteroff, fashion designer Brandon Maxwell,
00:01:10and editor-in-chief of Elle magazine, Nina Garcia, are looking for America's next great fashion designer.
00:01:16At stake for the winner, a quarter of a million dollars supplied by Pilot Friction Erasable Pens,
00:01:23a feature in Elle magazine, and a career-changing mentorship with the Council of Fashion Designers of America.
00:01:29This is Project Runway All-Stars.
00:01:40Well, designers, next to you are looks I'm sure you never wanted to see again.
00:01:45Yeah.
00:01:45Leaving you guys asking the question, what would you have done differently if you had the chance?
00:01:51Your challenge, reinvent the look that got you eliminated, or almost got you eliminated, and turn it into a high fashion moment for the runways of today.
00:02:03You don't have to use the same fabrics, and you don't have to keep the same silhouette, but the judges are going to want to see the spirit of the look in your reinventions.
00:02:15You guys are going to have new models for your challenge.
00:02:18I left their model cards over here with sketchbooks.
00:02:21You'll have 30 minutes to sketch up here.
00:02:23And designers, there's a twist.
00:02:27Look at this which looks, I bet you.
00:02:28Oh, s***.
00:02:29Oh, my God.
00:02:29What?
00:02:30What?
00:02:30Just say it.
00:02:31Yeah.
00:02:33Okay.
00:02:34I'm going to hyperventilate.
00:02:37Okay, I'll see you at Mood.
00:02:38Bye.
00:02:39Bye.
00:02:40Bye.
00:02:40Bye.
00:02:40Bye.
00:02:41God, what the f***?
00:02:46Oh, my God, they already won it.
00:02:48Go, go.
00:02:49You guys are serious.
00:02:51Yeah, you're great.
00:02:52I have, like, the same list.
00:02:54Whoa, yes.
00:02:55I got loose.
00:02:56Emma, do you get the one you wanted?
00:02:58I got the only other model I really wanted, who has a buzz cut, so you are in a world of trouble.
00:03:02I'm sorry.
00:03:03No, that's all right.
00:03:04In future, though, if you get a plus model and you want to change, I love that.
00:03:07Oh, really?
00:03:07Okay.
00:03:08Yeah, but I also really want, like, an airplane.
00:03:10Androgynous, non-binary model.
00:03:12You have loose?
00:03:12Yeah.
00:03:13Wow.
00:03:14You know exactly what I wanted to do to make a difference.
00:03:16You're going to go with the lace again?
00:03:17Oh, God, no, f*** that.
00:03:20Oh, no, honey.
00:03:21We're taking this to a whole different direction.
00:03:23That dress was a problem for me.
00:03:26You know, I had to go to therapy after that.
00:03:28I want to do some color blocking, the same original idea that I had before.
00:03:35But to have the opportunity to recreate the dress with real fabric is a treat.
00:03:39Who did you get for your model?
00:03:40I got Rem.
00:03:41As I start sketching, I'm thinking, how can I redeem myself?
00:03:45How can I change this?
00:03:46I should make this, like, my original idea.
00:03:48Do the futurism that I like.
00:03:50So I'm going to focus on the stills.
00:03:53She seems like she's an easy, fun person to work with.
00:03:55Oh, perfect.
00:03:59Looking at this thing, it's making me feel extremely uneasy.
00:04:04And it's reminding me of the feeling and the worriness I had during the time.
00:04:10And at that moment, my biggest fear was my sister passing away.
00:04:14Especially with it only being a month and some change since my sister passed.
00:04:19So I am just trying to not get in my head about how this design is triggering me at the moment.
00:04:27How are you feeling after me?
00:04:28I'm a little anxious about it.
00:04:32I haven't done a lot of sewing in a long time.
00:04:36It's not muscle memory.
00:04:37Once you get to it, muscle's got to be great.
00:04:38Also, really, I like that.
00:04:41I didn't want it to take away from the moment that I'm experiencing now.
00:04:44So for me, the best thing I can do is just sketch until I fall into a design I don't like.
00:04:56I think I'm ready to go to mood now.
00:05:00Ready?
00:05:01Yeah.
00:05:02Okay.
00:05:03All right.
00:05:05Time for us to go to mood.
00:05:08Hi, everybody.
00:05:12Hi.
00:05:13All right, guys.
00:05:14Well, we're here at mood.
00:05:15The only thing that's been in all 20 seasons, right?
00:05:18Mm-hmm.
00:05:19Besides Nina, you know.
00:05:20All right.
00:05:21So you have $600 and 45 minutes to shop.
00:05:25You guys ready?
00:05:25Yeah.
00:05:26All right, go.
00:05:27Move it, move it, move it.
00:05:28Where's a basket?
00:05:30I'm going to be comfortable for this.
00:05:32You've got your sneaks on.
00:05:36You ready?
00:05:37Hurry up.
00:05:38I know.
00:05:38I know.
00:05:39Where's the boning?
00:05:40Boning?
00:05:41Anyone?
00:05:41This is kind of cool, right?
00:05:42Doing 3D work on top of that.
00:05:43Gorgeous.
00:05:45Fabulous.
00:05:45Love it.
00:05:46For the look that we're using as our redemption, Brandon absolutely hated.
00:05:50I would have rather you just put it with a pair of jeans.
00:05:53He would have used that dress as campfire material.
00:05:57I think I'm going to make a dress that is T-length, has side cutouts, shows off my model's curves.
00:06:04Really kind of shows the judges who I have evolved to.
00:06:08All's good.
00:06:08Everything's fine.
00:06:09Everything's great.
00:06:14How are you already at zippers?
00:06:15I'm not at zippers.
00:06:16I'm picking zippers and somebody's cutting my fabric.
00:06:19You're already at fabric.
00:06:20It's been five minutes.
00:06:21It's been five minutes.
00:06:22That dress haunt me for an entire year.
00:06:24You think I don't know when I need to fix it?
00:06:26Well, you got orange zippers, so I was just concerned.
00:06:28Okay, I swear I wasn't going to do gray, but...
00:06:31A pink print?
00:06:32Yes.
00:06:33I'm black.
00:06:33I'm black.
00:06:34I'm black.
00:06:35Oh, I'm black.
00:06:36Oh, so black.
00:06:37Okay.
00:06:38I'm very happy that I get to reinvent this look.
00:06:41The judges said they didn't see me in my design, and I even lost my signature.
00:06:49I'm keeping the original shape, the powerful shoulder, and also the hourglass body.
00:06:54I want to find some beautiful floral print.
00:06:57This one is $5 a yard.
00:07:00It wasn't this expensive.
00:07:02Guys, we have 15 minutes.
00:07:04Run, run, run, run, run, run, run, run.
00:07:06What?
00:07:07You, of all people, I did not think would be running around still.
00:07:11Of all people...
00:07:13I got my fabric.
00:07:13I got backup.
00:07:14I'm a mama.
00:07:15Okay.
00:07:16Or is there a fabric?
00:07:17Like this kind of stuff?
00:07:18This is a fabric.
00:07:19Two inch.
00:07:21Cream.
00:07:23The thought process with my black and white challenge was the judges just kept saying
00:07:27I was too much.
00:07:28The front is so elegant, and it's like Jekyll and Hyde.
00:07:30This challenge was about black and white, and she only gave us half.
00:07:34And I get kicked off.
00:07:35So I was like, I'm going to tone it down.
00:07:37I'm going to show them sophisticated.
00:07:38I'm going to do a little black dress, but I'm going to have a little cane pizzazz in the
00:07:41back.
00:07:42It's the bounce that I'm kind of going for.
00:07:44So my inspiration to pull the spirit of my original black and white dress is a very full,
00:07:50ruffled, high-low skirt in white.
00:07:53It's going to give me the structure and the volume to like really slay that run with.
00:07:58How much does that guzzar?
00:08:0040.
00:08:00Oh, 40.
00:08:01She told me 35.
00:08:03Can we do 35 since it's got a stain on it?
00:08:05This is silk.
00:08:06Get out of this aisle.
00:08:07Okay.
00:08:08And if you're going to go in this aisle, you better be the best seamstress I've ever seen.
00:08:12And I bet you, you're not.
00:08:13I think Christian knows it's been a long time, but this is what I'm here for.
00:08:18I mean, I'm here to challenge myself and reopen the book on what I used to do.
00:08:26I need to cut.
00:08:27I'm looking for stuff with structure to make the shape of the flower.
00:08:31I'm planning to keep the spirit of my challenge alive by incorporating the concept of flower.
00:08:39But I'm taking it to a place a little bit more wearable for some other occasion.
00:08:44Taking off the jacket.
00:08:45Two minutes and you have to be in line, bitch me.
00:08:49I love you.
00:08:52In line, everybody.
00:08:54If you're not in line, you don't get it.
00:08:58One minute.
00:09:01All right, designers.
00:09:02That's it.
00:09:02Time.
00:09:03Good luck.
00:09:04Thanks, baby.
00:09:05All right.
00:09:08All right, designers.
00:09:09Feeling good?
00:09:10Yeah.
00:09:11All right, guys.
00:09:12So you're going to head to your workroom now.
00:09:14And then later tonight, you will check in the fabulous Hotel Indigo in Williamsburg.
00:09:22I'm already exhausted.
00:09:23Goodbye.
00:09:24Have fun.
00:09:31Let's go.
00:09:34That was exhausting.
00:09:35Yeah.
00:09:36I'm going to cut my fabric.
00:09:38I need a tape measure.
00:09:40I have one.
00:09:41Hold on.
00:09:41Where's my...
00:09:43Oh, my God.
00:09:46Nor has not changed in 18 years.
00:09:50I will always be a goofball, you know, but I'm still going to get my done.
00:09:57OG season one Project Runaway designers were going to stay together.
00:10:01This makes me so happy.
00:10:02So that's what we did.
00:10:03We went and we found a table off to ourselves in the back.
00:10:07This is the draping's what's going to be the magic.
00:10:11Yeah.
00:10:11I love that.
00:10:12Oh, I hope.
00:10:12Oh, wait.
00:10:14Hold on.
00:10:16Hold on.
00:10:17I'm missing fabric.
00:10:18What are you missing?
00:10:19The hard mesh.
00:10:20Are you serious?
00:10:21Yeah.
00:10:22You have it.
00:10:22You have it.
00:10:22Yeah, I had it.
00:10:23It was the whole thing.
00:10:24Yeah, I'm missing a fabric.
00:10:27Coming up?
00:10:28I'm missing a key fabric.
00:10:29So I don't know if it's sell out or what.
00:10:32Maybe next time.
00:10:33I also lost my calculator.
00:10:35Okay, this competition is getting serious.
00:10:38Yes.
00:10:38I'm going to bed.
00:10:40Let's do that.
00:10:46I'm missing a fabric.
00:10:47I have zero horse hair fabric.
00:10:50That is the whole structure of my skirt.
00:10:52And I am freaking out.
00:10:54But you have it.
00:10:54You have it.
00:10:55You have it.
00:10:55Yeah, I had it.
00:10:56It was the whole thing.
00:10:57Thank you, baby.
00:10:58O-R.
00:10:59All right.
00:11:00I'm wondering if it's sell out in the van.
00:11:03Who do I talk to about checking a van?
00:11:05I don't know.
00:11:06Sorry.
00:11:07I will go.
00:11:12How long have you been draping for?
00:11:14So I actually got really into draping because of you.
00:11:17I'm like on your season.
00:11:18I was like, ooh.
00:11:19Really?
00:11:19I never draped before until I came on the show.
00:11:21That humbles me.
00:11:24People are watching.
00:11:27I know exactly what I'm doing with a pants.
00:11:30So I'm going to drape those.
00:11:31Okay.
00:11:33I'm going to drape a second leg wider than this.
00:11:37And give myself options so I can sleep on it for a little bit.
00:11:39And Nina loves a pant.
00:11:41Oh, I know that.
00:11:42It's so hard to be proud of something that you made.
00:11:45And then you can actually look at it today and be like, oh my god.
00:11:49I was so far off.
00:11:51Some of her coat's a full flop.
00:11:53A grandma house coat.
00:11:54She should have Kleenex in her pocket.
00:11:56It just hangs.
00:11:57It's so sad.
00:11:58It had no tailoring to it.
00:12:00And I agree.
00:12:01What's coming to me right now is a panty mitt dress, long with sillets at the side, overlaid
00:12:07sleeves so they look like they're part of the design.
00:12:09And then really, really wide pants.
00:12:11You heard about the twist?
00:12:15I was waiting.
00:12:16I'm like, what is it going to be?
00:12:17I thought it was going to be something bad.
00:12:19Yeah.
00:12:21Are you using this?
00:12:22Not right now.
00:12:22I just want you to measure it.
00:12:23You can.
00:12:24You can.
00:12:24When I saw my outfit come out, literally, I wanted to hide.
00:12:30I don't want to say it's ugly, but I learned my lesson.
00:12:33So I'm just going to remake this look how it should have been.
00:12:35With what I'm known for, my leather jackets, it would have the same opening in the back,
00:12:41a little hoodie and the pants.
00:12:42But everything will be built around the jacket, so the jacket better be fly.
00:12:47I think there's blood on this mannequin.
00:12:49It's a dangerous game we're playing.
00:12:52My design from the Circus Challenge from Season 7 brings back some memories that I don't really
00:12:59want to revisit.
00:13:01I tried to dig deep, but it was kind of costumey, not really my style.
00:13:07So this time around, there needs to be also a little bit of an edge.
00:13:11And so I'm going to try to convey that this time.
00:13:14I know this is a redemption, but they want to see who we are and what we are about now.
00:13:19And so I had something in my head, do you know what I mean?
00:13:22And it was literally like my mom and just this whole outfit.
00:13:28So when I got my model, and she's lovely, but it just threw me off a little bit.
00:13:35I just really wanted like this African-American to represent.
00:13:41You know, my mom was from Cape May, New Jersey.
00:13:47We lived at the beach.
00:13:48She's always been my biggest inspiration.
00:13:51Everything that I am and that I've done in life has come from my mom, from Barbara.
00:13:58Barbara by the sea.
00:14:00I know that this is really important to you.
00:14:03If you want to change, we can switch because I want it for you.
00:14:09I'm serious.
00:14:12Yeah.
00:14:14I don't think you do.
00:14:16No.
00:14:16I don't think you know how happy that just made you.
00:14:19No.
00:14:19Good.
00:14:20Do it.
00:14:22Season one.
00:14:23OG.
00:14:24OG.
00:14:25The originals.
00:14:26Yeah.
00:14:26I like literally started to cry.
00:14:28I'm just so happy.
00:14:31It just changed everything.
00:14:33Now I have my model.
00:14:35I can bring my vision to the runway.
00:14:38I really appreciate it.
00:14:39Hey guys, we got 10 minutes.
00:14:42No.
00:14:44Where's yours got here?
00:14:45That was an hour.
00:14:46I want one of those too.
00:14:47What size is your model?
00:14:48Everyone's talking about our shot to redeem our worst, our worst look.
00:14:53The original challenge was creating a look that embraces elegance.
00:14:58So I decided to finally put my pasties on the runway.
00:15:01And to be honest, this is now a look that is currently quite in style.
00:15:05I am trying to make something new and weird and really make people stop and think.
00:15:10This time I want to elevate a skirt to my modern aesthetic.
00:15:14Add drawstring so that someone can ruche or unruche their skirt and have little bows at the end.
00:15:19All right y'all, time's up.
00:15:20Let's head to the hotel.
00:15:21You got to drag me from this piece of muslin.
00:15:25Try it from my hands.
00:15:26Adios, amigo.
00:15:31I need a drinky drink.
00:15:33Let's go, friends.
00:15:33Oh, we're here.
00:15:34Oh, we're here.
00:15:35Oh, amazing.
00:15:36Cute.
00:15:37Very classy.
00:15:38Look at that.
00:15:40Welcome to my house.
00:15:41Get comfortable.
00:15:42After a long day of work, it is so nice to finally be in this hotel.
00:15:46Now it starts to really feel real.
00:15:48So nice to meet you guys.
00:15:50How did you recognize her from the beginning?
00:15:54I'm a super fan.
00:15:56She's the original black girl on Project Runway.
00:15:58What's that?
00:15:59Hey, so I'm missing like a key fabric.
00:16:03You know how they take your bag sometimes and put stuff in it?
00:16:05So I don't know if it fell out or what.
00:16:08All the horse hair?
00:16:09So, no, I don't have it.
00:16:11It's four yards of six.
00:16:13It was going to be really voluminous in like this moment.
00:16:16Maybe next time, you know.
00:16:18But I also lost my calculator.
00:16:22Holy cow.
00:16:24Okay, this competition is getting serious.
00:16:27Bye, guys.
00:16:29It's been real.
00:16:30I'm going to bed.
00:16:32I don't have my horse hair fabric.
00:16:34It is what it is.
00:16:35And you got to make a new plan.
00:16:36I'm a pirate.
00:16:38I am going to fill this up real quick, though.
00:16:41I'll take one for the role, literally.
00:16:43Bye.
00:16:44I'm going to dream up something tonight when I sleep
00:16:46that is going to be just as fabulous as my original design.
00:16:51A challenge is about to be served.
00:17:01Let's go.
00:17:02Woo-hoo!
00:17:03Yay!
00:17:05Work time.
00:17:06Here we are.
00:17:07Looks like Ralph Macchio, Karate Kid, over here.
00:17:10Are you going to be okay without that mesh?
00:17:13I don't know until I drape those ruffles, but I actually think it's going to be better.
00:17:17Everything happens for a reason.
00:17:18I don't know if my mama is up in heaven just being like, no, honey, you don't need that
00:17:22horse hair fabric.
00:17:23But I'm actually thinking this is going to be a positive because when I'm draping this gazaar,
00:17:28it is so beautiful flowing on its own.
00:17:32I think I can make that work.
00:17:33This is my barber by the sea fabric.
00:17:37Oh, that's the fabric you brought?
00:17:38Yeah, this is what I brought.
00:17:39Yeah, this is what I brought.
00:17:40Season one, we did not bring any fabric from home.
00:17:43So imagine my delights.
00:17:45When I was told I could bring any fabric that I want.
00:17:48That blue is stunning.
00:17:50And like with your hair, you need to go buy that and make yourself something out of it.
00:17:55This challenge is about reinvention of your original design.
00:18:00Season one had this asymmetrical look.
00:18:03I once have still gave that form.
00:18:06I am making a beautiful, award-winning, barber by the sea gown.
00:18:13Nora, I'm going to have to name one of my puppies after you.
00:18:15For you trading models with me.
00:18:17Hey guys, two minutes before Christian comes?
00:18:19No, don't not.
00:18:20Oh, like that literally gave me anxiety, girl.
00:18:25Yeah, I just had a panic attack.
00:18:26I need like a step stool.
00:18:30Hi, designers.
00:18:32Hey.
00:18:32Hi, guys.
00:18:34Guys, it's our first walkthrough.
00:18:36Oh, Lord.
00:18:37How's it going?
00:18:38Good, can't wait for feedback.
00:18:39All right, I'm coming to see you all.
00:18:41Hi, how are you?
00:18:47Good.
00:18:48How are you doing?
00:18:48You look great.
00:18:49How's life?
00:18:50Thanks.
00:18:50It's great, you know?
00:18:51What have you been making?
00:18:53After the pandemic, the brand kind of went into like a little more of a swim, active wear,
00:18:58and ready-to-wear direction.
00:19:00Yeah, yeah.
00:19:00Which has been great.
00:19:01I think that would be really cool to show the judges like a new aesthetic now that you
00:19:05do active wear, which was harder before because I think you were trying to find yourself a
00:19:10little bit and what you wanted to do.
00:19:11And what I thought that I should do.
00:19:13I loved a lot of elements of that look.
00:19:15Yeah.
00:19:15The coat, felt couture.
00:19:17I loved the butterflies.
00:19:19Finding a way to marry the two is going to be an advantage that I have.
00:19:22I found this, and I think it's absolutely beautiful.
00:19:24Yeah, beautiful.
00:19:25And then-
00:19:25Did you buy anything sporty or like any spandex at all or anything?
00:19:31This is what I did the bandeau with.
00:19:32Mm.
00:19:33And then I have this too.
00:19:35This nude, fleshy thing?
00:19:36Yeah.
00:19:37Mm.
00:19:38Well, I just, I don't know if this looks cheap underneath.
00:19:41You have no elements of you and what you do.
00:19:43Why are you making like a Duchess satin skirt dress?
00:19:46What are you talking about?
00:19:48No.
00:19:49Why isn't it sheer and flowy and gorgeous and she's in this amazing workout or bathing suit
00:19:54or thing underneath that's sexy and amazing?
00:19:57That's cool.
00:19:58All over it.
00:19:59Like something like that.
00:20:00The dimension and the sex appeal combined.
00:20:01Yes.
00:20:02Because that was the difference.
00:20:03You had something that was super covered up, not sexy, very oversized.
00:20:07Yeah.
00:20:07And this is a more beautiful, sexy, gorgeous-
00:20:10Showing off the body.
00:20:11Showing off the body.
00:20:12That's the new you.
00:20:13That's what you do.
00:20:14Okay.
00:20:14And don't be making me use my save on you again.
00:20:17So there's a save.
00:20:19There's always a Siriano save.
00:20:22Brittany, you are out.
00:20:24I'm so sorry.
00:20:25You're going to have to endure this a little bit longer.
00:20:28Just got the Siriano save.
00:20:30First one in history.
00:20:32You think I'm letting anything happen without my say-so?
00:20:35You guys are nuts.
00:20:37All right, let's go.
00:20:38Harrison, I'm coming to you.
00:20:48Hello.
00:20:49How are you?
00:20:49Good, how are you?
00:20:50I'm sure you were just in shock that you're back here.
00:20:53I hope it's like riding a bike.
00:20:55Like, I'm a costume designer for the past 20 years.
00:20:57Oh, my God.
00:20:58And so you have a team.
00:21:01You know what I'm saying?
00:21:02Of course.
00:21:02I haven't been sewing.
00:21:04I imagine.
00:21:05I was like, can you sew anymore?
00:21:07I kind of can't.
00:21:08I think me and Nora are using the home machines.
00:21:10Don't judge us.
00:21:11Oh, my gosh.
00:21:12They still work.
00:21:13But now this is what you're going with, right?
00:21:15This is your fabric.
00:21:16But what's it going to be?
00:21:17What are you going to keep?
00:21:18The thing that I'm not crazy about keeping is the pants.
00:21:22I mean, I will say, right now, big tunic things over pants is a moment.
00:21:27So I don't think you should throw it away.
00:21:29Yeah, think about it.
00:21:30Because maybe it's not a skinny taper pant.
00:21:32Maybe it's a super cool wide pant, which could be super chic.
00:21:36Yeah.
00:21:36This is so funny, you guys.
00:21:38You guys began it all.
00:21:39I mean, I'll take the credit.
00:21:41Did you go to the table together?
00:21:43Yeah.
00:21:44You did?
00:21:44Yeah.
00:21:45When we saw each other, it was just like...
00:21:47Have you...
00:21:48That was from season one.
00:21:50She has it.
00:21:50And her key to the apartment.
00:21:51And I have the key to the apartment.
00:21:52What?
00:21:53Yeah.
00:21:54You kept this.
00:21:55Yeah.
00:21:56I kept my check.
00:21:58Oh, Nora, tell me everything.
00:22:00What's happening?
00:22:01So I have an underdress that's in the stretchier fabric.
00:22:05And you picked the hardest fabrics in the world to sew.
00:22:07Yes, I did.
00:22:08So we'll see what happens.
00:22:10It's not bridal-y.
00:22:11It's not white.
00:22:12But you're taking the petal element, right?
00:22:14Yeah.
00:22:14My idea is you can wear it anywhere.
00:22:16Have you sewn any of the petal pieces yet?
00:22:18I need to.
00:22:19Because this flower needs to be incredible.
00:22:21Be beautiful.
00:22:22So I think you should start cutting, sewing, and getting it going.
00:22:24Flowers, hour four.
00:22:25Here we go.
00:22:25Great.
00:22:25Hour four.
00:22:26All right.
00:22:26Flowers.
00:22:27We did it.
00:22:28Thank you, Christian.
00:22:29You know, this redemption moment.
00:22:37Yeah.
00:22:38I mean, listen.
00:22:39Baby, you ain't even got to say it to me.
00:22:42Woo-hoo!
00:22:42All I remember from this challenge was Michael Corey saying, like, she looks like she has
00:22:47shark fins in her hips.
00:22:48Even curvy girls, they don't want fins off their butt.
00:22:52What I'm making now is something that my girl will wear to a party.
00:22:55I'm thinking it'll be a jumpsuit.
00:22:58So, like, the strapless look.
00:22:59Yeah.
00:22:59With the texture, like, these are actually working pockets.
00:23:02I think you should go the most extreme it can be.
00:23:05The most.
00:23:05Baby, but that's why I went here, and I ended up having trauma from these pleats.
00:23:09Look, those in the right way can be incredible.
00:23:20Hi.
00:23:21Hello.
00:23:22I'm good.
00:23:22How are you?
00:23:23Isn't it so nice to see each other?
00:23:24It's bizarre.
00:23:25And hilarious.
00:23:25They're bizarre.
00:23:26During Project One Way Season 4, I mean, I lived with Christian.
00:23:30We went through that whole journey together.
00:23:32Why couldn't they just get rid of Christian?
00:23:33Nobody would have cried.
00:23:34Did you hear that, Christian?
00:23:35You know, we got to bond off of the stress of the competition.
00:23:39You went full on this color now.
00:23:41I wanted to go opposite of where I was.
00:23:44That color was too subdued.
00:23:45Yep.
00:23:46So, I wanted to do a sexy, backless dress that's draped off of the necklace.
00:23:50Mm-hmm.
00:23:50Love it.
00:23:51If I'm not going to take risks, then I'm thinking, why should I even be here?
00:23:54Yeah, yeah.
00:23:54Like, I want to expand here, and I think that this is the space for it.
00:23:58We'll see how it goes.
00:23:59I know.
00:23:59I'm not expecting any nice to these.
00:24:01Trust me.
00:24:05This is cute.
00:24:06Hi.
00:24:07What's up?
00:24:07How are you?
00:24:08I'm good.
00:24:08You feeling good?
00:24:09I'm feeling good.
00:24:10I'm glad you're here.
00:24:10A clear vision of my brand and how I want it to be.
00:24:13Mm-hmm.
00:24:14So, I'm just back to do that.
00:24:15I love that.
00:24:15And also for my sister, too, so.
00:24:17I love that.
00:24:18Yeah.
00:24:18Yeah.
00:24:19Do it for her.
00:24:20This is cool.
00:24:21What is that?
00:24:22That's kind of cool, too.
00:24:23It's like a hoodie dress.
00:24:24I just want to add pants, because I don't want to just send her down with nothing underneath
00:24:28of it.
00:24:29You sure you're all right?
00:24:30Mm-hmm.
00:24:31And do you need anything from me?
00:24:33A kiss.
00:24:34Yeah?
00:24:34Like a hug?
00:24:35I said a kiss, not a hug.
00:24:37You're not listening.
00:24:37Oh, jeez.
00:24:38I don't know.
00:24:39You still get what you want.
00:24:40Kiss next week.
00:24:41Understood.
00:24:47Wow, guys.
00:24:48It's so exciting in here.
00:24:50I can't wait for my twist.
00:24:52What?
00:24:53What?
00:24:53No.
00:24:53Twist?
00:24:54Oh, my fun.
00:25:00Stop it.
00:25:01I'm going to have a heart attack.
00:25:02Oh, no.
00:25:03Let me prop myself up.
00:25:04Oh, no.
00:25:05This season, there is no immunity.
00:25:07What?
00:25:08Are you seriously?
00:25:09Anybody can go home on any challenge.
00:25:10Wait, are you serious, though?
00:25:11Now?
00:25:12Oh, .
00:25:13The good news.
00:25:14Oh, okay.
00:25:15There are going to be prizes and advantages for the winners of each challenge along the
00:25:17way.
00:25:18Oh, my goodness.
00:25:19Oh, my goodness.
00:25:20Oh, my goodness.
00:25:21Oh, my goodness.
00:25:22Oh, my goodness.
00:25:23Oh, my goodness.
00:25:24Oh, my goodness.
00:25:25Oh, my goodness.
00:25:26Oh, my goodness.
00:25:27Oh, my goodness.
00:25:28Oh, my goodness.
00:25:29We're going to have a challenge along the way.
00:25:30Yeah.
00:25:31Nice.
00:25:32All right.
00:25:33So the winner of this challenge is going to get $10,000.
00:25:36What?
00:25:37Oh, my God.
00:25:38It is money.
00:25:39You're welcome.
00:25:40That's a good twist.
00:25:41So good luck.
00:25:42That's awesome.
00:25:43I'll see you at model fitting.
00:25:45Bye.
00:25:47I'd really like to win this challenge now.
00:25:50The feel.
00:25:52All right.
00:25:53Let's see.
00:25:54What is going on?
00:25:56Please work.
00:25:57Oh, my God.
00:25:58Last time I sewed a gown was for my 30th birthday, which was about nine years ago.
00:26:07So it's been a while.
00:26:11I am winging it on these pants.
00:26:13Victor, what are you working on?
00:26:15My stilts or the idea of stilts.
00:26:18Look at you giving spirits.
00:26:20You know, I'm giving spirits and the soul and the Holy Ghost.
00:26:25Let me tell you that.
00:26:27For my redemption look, I want to get inspired by something that is tragic to me.
00:26:32When I was in LA, I got attacked.
00:26:35This guy on the street had a machete and he cut my boyfriend's hand and he cut my leg.
00:26:42I couldn't walk for six months.
00:26:44Being not able to walk, the only thing I could do is sew slowly and sketch a lot and get a lot of ideas.
00:26:51I wanted to have an outlet to release that.
00:26:54And so the leg harnesses came about in that sense where I was thinking, how can I put that into fashion?
00:27:00Trust me.
00:27:02I know what I'm doing.
00:27:05It's like harnesses.
00:27:07Hi, everybody.
00:27:08Hello.
00:27:09Hi, Christian.
00:27:10Are we feeling good?
00:27:11Yeah.
00:27:12Sure.
00:27:13Yeah.
00:27:14Who wants a model?
00:27:15I do.
00:27:17Let's get him in.
00:27:23Hi, how are you?
00:27:25Good to meet you.
00:27:26Oh.
00:27:27I love you.
00:27:28Easy to get in.
00:27:30So if you don't mind holding that up for one second.
00:27:32You probably won't see the top of the pant, but just in case we do, I might go a skosh higher.
00:27:36Let me know if anything is, like, too tight or anything.
00:27:39Bitch me, is this the pant?
00:27:40Yeah.
00:27:41Cool.
00:27:43But what's the top?
00:27:44It's gonna be a pink, like, corseted hoodie like I showed you.
00:27:46It's gonna be?
00:27:47Yeah.
00:27:48Well, the pants are fab.
00:27:49I hope the jacket is as fabulous.
00:27:53I'm realizing that I'm not inspired by this redemption dress at all.
00:27:57It's literally triggering me, making me feel uneasy at the moment.
00:28:03Do you have any, um, siblings?
00:28:05One or two sisters, five nieces and nephews.
00:28:08How about you?
00:28:10Um, my sister passed away.
00:28:13She was like my second mom.
00:28:15Aw, so you gotta win for her.
00:28:16Appreciate it.
00:28:17See, that's all I need.
00:28:19That's all I need.
00:28:20Did you make a paddle?
00:28:23Oh, yeah, they're here.
00:28:25They're gonna be so awesome.
00:28:27I really like it.
00:28:28Can I hold it for you?
00:28:29Okay.
00:28:30Okay.
00:28:31I'm gonna put this here.
00:28:34So it's still gonna cover you.
00:28:36Wow.
00:28:37It's really cute.
00:28:38Victor's look is very complicated.
00:28:41Bodycon, all these straps that have to stay up.
00:28:44It's not my style at all, and it's not something I would ever do.
00:28:48I love this so much.
00:28:49Can you just come over here?
00:28:50I just wanna see.
00:28:51You love it so much?
00:28:52Yes.
00:28:53Because right now, it looks like you picked the fabric and stuck it on.
00:28:57I could work on it more and, like, make it look more, like, organic.
00:29:01I think you should try.
00:29:03Oh.
00:29:04Try to put your hand in your pocket.
00:29:07Prajay, you love that pocket.
00:29:09The pocket makes it young, fresh, and when she walks, I do have a little problem.
00:29:13Oh, what's the little fit problem in the back?
00:29:16Did her full booty is out?
00:29:18Her booty looks good, though.
00:29:19I mean, it looks great, but...
00:29:20There you go.
00:29:21So let's fix it.
00:29:22The dress fit the model to an extent, but half her butt cheeks are out.
00:29:28That's not bad.
00:29:29I'll figure it out.
00:29:30That looks like a little diaper in the back.
00:29:32You gotta fix that.
00:29:33I am going to fix it, but I need to see what I need to fix, though.
00:29:36Sheesh.
00:29:37It's gonna look like this really fabulous coat, and then you're going to drop it, and it's
00:29:44gonna go into a train.
00:29:45Do you love how this does this?
00:29:47I haven't pressed it yet.
00:29:49Once it's pressed...
00:29:50Once it's flat.
00:29:51Yeah, it will sit flat.
00:29:52They're really cool, so it'll be cool to see them a little bit.
00:29:55You know, you see the shape, the butt looks great, you know.
00:29:59Whatever.
00:30:00Have fun.
00:30:01You, I mean...
00:30:02I'm not gonna let this stump me.
00:30:04It just means that it can be pushed further, and that's what I'm gonna do.
00:30:08I flip the top around, so what was once the back is now the front, and the front is the
00:30:14back.
00:30:15I am in love with this.
00:30:20Then I'm gonna take the length of the pants.
00:30:23I wanna cover the whole thing like butterflies.
00:30:26I think my family, when they see this, they're gonna...
00:30:29It's crazy.
00:30:30All right, designers.
00:30:31That's it.
00:30:32That's time.
00:30:33Thank you, baby.
00:30:34Say goodbye to your models.
00:30:35Thank you so much.
00:30:37All right, designers.
00:30:41Tomorrow's your first runway.
00:30:43Woo-hoo!
00:30:44Woo!
00:30:45Yeah!
00:30:46Good luck.
00:30:49Bye.
00:30:50This ain't the jam, guys.
00:31:01I spent so much time trying to use the dress as inspiration that I fell into, like,
00:31:07a rabbit hole.
00:31:11Scents, colors, anything, when you're grieving, it triggers you.
00:31:19Hi.
00:31:20This is too soon, this challenge.
00:31:24Yeah.
00:31:25Creative-wise, it's kind of blocking.
00:31:27Tomorrow will make two months in my life.
00:31:30I ain't put it in my mind that I would have to relive something.
00:31:33I didn't know it was gonna be a garment.
00:31:35That dress, that garment.
00:31:37My fear when I was making it of her, like, going away, now me reliving it through a dress
00:31:44is very triggering.
00:31:45I'm not here to quit, buddy.
00:31:50I don't know.
00:31:55Yeah.
00:31:56Coming up.
00:31:57You chose a fabric that easily puckers.
00:32:00It feels too in your face.
00:32:02Was it a successful design?
00:32:03I don't think so.
00:32:04We know who needs to go home.
00:32:05I think my emotions from it being too much tomorrow.
00:32:17Sorry.
00:32:18When we spoke, you were doing this in honor of your sister.
00:32:23You were doing this because she wanted you to do it.
00:32:25Yeah.
00:32:26Is there a way to focus on then turning that into a positive for her?
00:32:29Yeah.
00:32:30And I apologize because I ain't trying to.
00:32:32You don't have to apologize for a thing.
00:32:34I'm gonna make something work.
00:32:37I know my sister is looking down and I need to utilize that and turn it into strength.
00:32:46The only way I can do that is by fueling myself with positive vibes and remembering that I'm here for my sister.
00:32:53I'm just gonna keep doing what I have to do and create something that we both will be extremely proud about.
00:32:59All right, guys.
00:33:14Let's wrap it up.
00:33:15Let's go.
00:33:16Let's go.
00:33:17What a day.
00:33:24Hey, guys.
00:33:25Y'all ready to get started for our first runway show?
00:33:27Yes.
00:33:28Show day is always one of those days where you're just like, am I gonna finish this?
00:33:34Happy runway day.
00:33:35I know.
00:33:36Happy runway day.
00:33:37Have you worked with these judges before?
00:33:39Have you?
00:33:40Just Nina.
00:33:41That's it.
00:33:42Same.
00:33:43Nina is familiar, but then there are two other judges that are new, so I really don't know what to expect.
00:33:47Here we go.
00:33:48It's time.
00:33:49Victor, your model Ren hasn't showed up, so we have an alternate for you.
00:33:59No.
00:34:00No, she's fantastic.
00:34:01She's very similar in size.
00:34:03Same hip, same waist.
00:34:04I need air.
00:34:05She's fantastic.
00:34:06Trust me.
00:34:07What hair?
00:34:08It's changing my whole thing.
00:34:09Huh?
00:34:10Long?
00:34:11Yes.
00:34:12Ren didn't show up, so this is our option.
00:34:13My heart rate?
00:34:14Why?
00:34:15We haven't been able to get in touch with her.
00:34:17Ren didn't show up, and I fitted this dress and the leg harness specifically for her body,
00:34:21so I'm panicking.
00:34:34I thought that adrenaline is kicking in.
00:34:36I'm in better spirits this morning.
00:34:38I realized that I have to guide myself and be okay with feeling my feelings and continuing on.
00:34:45There's no way for me to change my look, so I'm just trying to bang this thing out.
00:34:50Some last minute fun stuff.
00:34:53Hi, everybody.
00:34:54Hi.
00:34:55Hi, Christian.
00:34:56Hi, Christian.
00:34:57Hi, Christian.
00:34:58First runway.
00:34:59Yeah.
00:35:00How fabulous.
00:35:01Do we need models?
00:35:02Yes.
00:35:03Yes.
00:35:04Yes.
00:35:05Let's bring them in.
00:35:06Woo!
00:35:07Hey, Mama.
00:35:10Hi, are you with me?
00:35:13How are you?
00:35:14Hi, I'm Victor.
00:35:15Nice to meet you.
00:35:16Nice to meet you.
00:35:17Now I have Jessica, and she's definitely taller than Ren.
00:35:19How are you feeling?
00:35:20Nervous.
00:35:21Yeah.
00:35:22I'm loving her look, but I'm just worried that it's not going to fit.
00:35:26I have to make another adjustment.
00:35:30She's too tall, so I have to alter all of this right now.
00:35:35See, I know you like a lot of jewelry, but I don't know if she needs all of the jewelry.
00:35:40There's a lot happening.
00:35:41Okay.
00:35:42Okay.
00:35:43You got to take one thing off, please.
00:35:45How's that feel?
00:35:46The dress is really pretty, though.
00:35:49You have a new model.
00:35:51Yeah.
00:35:52She's stunning.
00:35:53The only thing is my other model was shorter, so now I'm worried about this.
00:35:57Oh, like the shorts are short.
00:35:59Could you add a quick band on the bottom, like a leather band?
00:36:02I'm going to do elastic here.
00:36:04Yeah, something.
00:36:05I mean, I love it, but that's all so much booty.
00:36:12All right, designers, take your models to the makeup studio and the Tresme hair salon.
00:36:17I can't wait to see these looks.
00:36:19Ah!
00:36:20Hi!
00:36:21Nice to meet you.
00:36:22This eye, you want to be very dramatic?
00:36:25Yeah, like, I would prefer sexy and, like, down kind of thing.
00:36:28Right.
00:36:29So, obviously, I want, like, a full set.
00:36:30Curls, you know, the nines.
00:36:35Models have to be dressed in literally 12 minutes.
00:36:38I'm going to have to shorten it really quick.
00:36:39I forgot my tools.
00:36:45Hester, what is happening?
00:36:46Oh, I know.
00:36:47The back looks like , but I'm going to unintentionally rip the front, I think.
00:36:50I love that these became sexy garters now.
00:36:53This is as best as I'm going to get in the middle of a mental crisis.
00:36:57Just don't do too much moving until runway time.
00:37:00One minute.
00:37:01I fixed the back.
00:37:02There's no diapers happening there.
00:37:05Hold this.
00:37:06Come over here.
00:37:07Yep.
00:37:08I'm going to stitch that.
00:37:09Actually, I'm going to go ahead and cut this, because it just doesn't need to be this long.
00:37:12What happens with this hem?
00:37:14Um, I did my best.
00:37:17All right, designers, time is up.
00:37:19Your first runway.
00:37:20Yay.
00:37:21Let's go.
00:37:22Let's go.
00:37:23Come on.
00:37:24Bring what you need.
00:37:25Oh, my God.
00:37:26Let's go.
00:37:27Let's go.
00:37:28Let's go.
00:37:29Let's go.
00:37:30Let's go.
00:37:31Let's go.
00:37:32Last looks, it's sort of like rush hour before the runway.
00:37:36Some people are on their knees, hand sewing and tacking.
00:37:39I need hair, please.
00:37:40All right, designers, less than five minutes.
00:37:42Glass.
00:37:43Can we get some glass?
00:37:44I'm a little nervous.
00:37:45It's the first challenge.
00:37:46Anything could happen.
00:37:47Is all that going to fall off?
00:37:48Stay right there.
00:37:49You are cutting?
00:37:50Yes.
00:37:51Judges are taking their seats.
00:37:52We're going to leave that arm exposed.
00:37:53One minute.
00:37:54Now it's time to just showcase.
00:37:55I'm just, like, freaking the hell out.
00:37:57Threads.
00:37:58I see a lot.
00:37:59Cut them.
00:38:00Don't move, or I might stab you in the ass.
00:38:02All right, designers, that's time.
00:38:03Let's head to the runway.
00:38:04Let's do this.
00:38:05Yay!
00:38:06Yay!
00:38:07Yay!
00:38:08Yay!
00:38:09Yay!
00:38:10Yay!
00:38:11Yay!
00:38:12Yay!
00:38:14I know that we have the best of the best, and so I'm ready to see the best of the best.
00:38:42all right you all please welcome actress activist totally fabulous alicia silverstone
00:38:55oh my god it's alicia cool this was the first movie that i saw in theater back when i was in
00:39:00high school so it's not only like a core memory being unlocked it's the fact that she is an icon
00:39:07you all look so amazing i'm so excited to meet all of you and see everything you're creating
00:39:13and it's so much fun to be here
00:39:17and today i'm dion i'm her dion today
00:39:23redemption looks here we go let's start the show
00:39:27see my look walking down the runway this is exactly what i want i kept the original shape
00:39:42the power from the shoulder but i added drama into the look the sparkles from the petals the edginess
00:39:52to really show to the judges who i am as a person and a designer
00:40:07i love the dress i love the way the dress is looking right now on the runway i've already
00:40:11redeemed myself from that horrible look but to have the opportunity to actually do it creating
00:40:16it the right way with the right materials is a great feeling i would like to sign my petition
00:40:21to burn the old dress and replace it with this one
00:40:30since i've been on project runway six years ago my dna is still the same it just has evolved
00:40:36my model look beautiful she has this little tomboyish look so that was perfect everything
00:40:42came out exactly how i wanted to come out i'm happy with what i've done and i've done my job
00:40:47i'm proud of what i've accomplished draping is not an easy process and handling a fabric that's this
00:41:02delicate requires experience and passion i love the way the silk is just kind of like dancing around her
00:41:09body there are peaks and moments where her legs show it's romantic i hope that the judges understand
00:41:18and can see the timeless quality of this design redemption it has been 10 years since i've sent a
00:41:30look down a project runway runway and my look just walked in let me tell you i could not be more proud
00:41:35i have absolutely created a new fresh modern look inspired by the spirit of my dress that i was
00:41:43eliminated from the reveal of it being an actual skirt from my coat was perfect so i think i understood
00:41:50this was timing
00:41:57i feel like i overcame a hurdle of fitting something like this especially after it's been such a long time
00:42:04maybe it wasn't the most perfectly constructed garments but with her makeup and hair and everything
00:42:12i think she just looks beautiful
00:42:23i feel like i'm having an out-of-body experience to be honest with you
00:42:26seeing the look come down the runway i feel super proud i started with something grab ill-fitting
00:42:36and now i'm presenting an original idea made really well but it also has details that compares to no
00:42:43one else's i can only hope the judges see my true creative expression here
00:42:48yes i really feel like the look going down the runway this time shows a much more mature customer
00:43:00it shows a designer that has a point of view that's very clear
00:43:07and i really want to just slow-mo it so i can just see it glide and get all the the goodies
00:43:14it just goes really quickly and i'm like oh my god i hope that they saw me because i see myself
00:43:28my look is definitely way different than everybody else but that's a good thing
00:43:32mine is very distinct and it has a clear point of view the model change was stressful but i don't
00:43:39think anybody's gonna know because my model looks fantastic so beautiful and so powerful
00:43:44exactly how i envisioned it this was a definite roller coaster to get this garment completed but i feel
00:43:57like uh successfully captured the essence of the challenge i'm just thankful that i'm able to create
00:44:04here and use the hurt and pain as an inspiration to showcase to the world the type of designer that i am
00:44:11and how you get over hard times oh okay i feel like i've created a look that for me is inspired by the
00:44:23spirit of my first design it's not like a direct interpretation so i don't know if the judges will see it but i'm happy with my work
00:44:34my design came out just the way i wanted it to come out
00:44:47my model has her bangs she has her bouffant she has the red lip the black liner i'm not gonna lie
00:44:53i think i think i strayed from the challenge but my whole purpose of being here was to pay homage to
00:44:59my mother and i think my mom would have loved it
00:45:01i'm definitely proud hard to say if i redeemed myself or not because again i don't think that
00:45:10i had anything to redeem myself from but i think i did a good solid evolution of the look that i had
00:45:15before and i think i really showed how i've grown
00:45:28i am living as mario walks down the runway it is feminine it's got movement and i figured out how to
00:45:36incorporate that active wear i have taken the essence of the look i was eliminated for
00:45:42the paint the butterflies the shoulders the draping it's me come on first buddy
00:45:51well i know we can't wait to hear all about these looks so will you all step up to the runway
00:46:03all right designers we have scored your designs and now we would like to speak with victor
00:46:11nora bishmi kane fabio and carason if i did not call your name you are in
00:46:23the rest of you can leave the runway
00:46:31so the six of you had the highest and lowest scores today
00:46:35one of you will be the winner and one of you will be out
00:46:48so the six of you had the highest and lowest scores today
00:46:53one of you will be the winner and one of you will be out
00:47:02all right let's start off positive shall we let's bring out one of our favorite looks of the night
00:47:10congratulations bishmi okay tell us about your look
00:47:14i was trying to make something that was inspired by a girl that's wanna run that's doing what you have
00:47:19to do and elevated version of the hoodie dress try to put myself in a happy place because the picture
00:47:24that i was inspired by triggered something for me that i didn't expect for it to do so it was very
00:47:29difficult for me to continue on and make it so it's literally been two months and probably like a day
00:47:35since my sister passed away i know that grieving is difficult but i didn't know that my grieving
00:47:42process would take place from something that was like that got me eliminated well you did a beautiful
00:47:49job and you can consider this a tribute to her thank you elaine give yourself a lot of time
00:47:56takes a long time so you don't have to rush thank you
00:48:00you never disappoint as a designer and you delivered a look that is very fashion forward
00:48:10i wrote in all caps this is what today's challenge is all about turning a negative into a positive
00:48:17and when i looked back at this look that you put down the runway
00:48:22it was a little tragic and then i look at what you put down the runway today this is a happy cheerful
00:48:28look it's a true elevation of whatever this initial vision was that you had the first look was just
00:48:35not at all you and this was nice to see something so assured from you all of the details are such
00:48:41signatures of yours and i can see that over the time since we've seen you that you've really refined
00:48:47those it feels very modern and really just joyful and the color is so fantastic the ruffles are so
00:48:54playful and it's really fun thank you all right let's bring out another one of our favorite looks
00:49:00of the night kane how does it feel to be in the top three i'm appreciative and humbled so thank you
00:49:13well i want to wear that dress we can make that happen it's just really elegant and sexy and chic so
00:49:21i wasn't clueless on this challenge okay somebody had to i know i know it was so cliche but my boyfriend
00:49:28would kill me if i didn't do that i remember the challenge for you was incorporating that bit of
00:49:36white and now the piece de resistance is the white yeah well i'll just jump right in here and say that i
00:49:45love that you gave us some drama honey i just loved the feminine kind of softness of the bottom
00:49:52half and how kind of cool and edgy the top is the styling was very fresh it felt very easy you had a
00:50:00lot going on in the skirt and i think you chose to take everything down everywhere else it's very
00:50:05successful thank you thank you kane it's nice to meet you switching gears the next look received one
00:50:13of our lowest scores unfortunately
00:50:20with me nora what were you thinking going into this my challenge was difficult for me because it was a
00:50:26wedding dress challenge the first time i am not a wedding dress designer but this time i wanted to
00:50:33create something kind of structural so i wanted to create this 70s kind of flower you chose a fabric
00:50:41that easily puckers if not seemed perfectly and you chose a color that really highlights any sort of
00:50:48imperfection i didn't want to go white yeah like last time i wanted to do kind of like a different color
00:50:55i remember the wedding dress yes i understand the problem you're having i see the choice of fabric i
00:51:03see that that's not something that you do all the time all the time right your model is very close to
00:51:10the color of this fabric so she kind of disappears i wish i would have seen a little more bold from you
00:51:18yeah actually i wasn't as crazy about it when you first came down but now that i've been staring at
00:51:24it i think it's kind of pretty i appreciate that thank you thank you nora emily you can leave the runway
00:51:31okay let's bring out one of the bottom scores of the night
00:51:40unfortunately victor you had one of our least favorite designs of the night
00:51:44do you want to tell us about it the challenge at that time it was a team challenge so i took the
00:51:51opportunity to change it into something that i do now so i really wanted to focus on the stilts
00:51:56by creating these kind of leg harnesses to give her that length i also wanted to use some of that
00:52:01color i'll be honest it wasn't immediately clear what the connection was okay creative indeed
00:52:07yeah but fashion is subjective and for me this didn't translate i think this lattice work on the
00:52:16shoulders is very creative is it costumy it is but there's something very creative of taking this
00:52:23concept of the stilt and narrowing it down to this i'm going to ask you a technical question about the
00:52:30leggings yeah about how you put them together it's attached to the waist but did you cut and then
00:52:36grommet all of those because i can't see everything's grommeted everything is snapped is that you
00:52:40wanted to give us the whole kitten caboodle you wanted to give us a cheese board of all of your
00:52:46talons right and the thing is the brie which was the legs was the tastiest cheese and i could have just
00:52:54had a whole plate of brie but i also would have loved to see a pairing back of something to really let
00:53:01that one idea or whatever idea it was of your choosing really really sing right thank you victor
00:53:07jessica you can leave the runway the next design received one of the lowest scores here comes the
00:53:15model jesus be on my side
00:53:23the next design received one of the lowest scores here comes the model jesus be on my side
00:53:31all right karisan tell us about your look the challenge was a emmy gown for nancy odell
00:53:46i changed it in many ways i still kept the asymmetrical it's inspired by my mother barbara saunders and i
00:53:53called this kind of barber by the sea i do remember the nancy hotel challenge yes there is a fine line
00:54:01when you're working with costumes and translating that into real life it just needed to be a little
00:54:09more subdued it feels too in your face can you turn around you picked the fabric thank you but where
00:54:18it goes off the rails for me is in the beating yeah it just needed editing this feels a bit formal and
00:54:27stiff and dare i say a little dated right thank you karisan thank you yes you can leave the runway
00:54:36the next look got one of our highest scores of the night
00:54:49fabio tell us about your look it was a challenge about outerwear so i feel like i wanted to create
00:54:56something that was mid-seasonal so hence the arms are out but you have um sleeves on and i kept this
00:55:03idea in my mind of flipping it around flipping it around so that's what i did all of the textiles except
00:55:08this one because it's you know it's double face they're all the wrong side so right side so i felt like
00:55:15it was really about flipping everything around giving you something that's exciting it's very chic
00:55:21and i really like the back was very modern and creative yeah congratulations thank you
00:55:28i love the combination of textures that shine with a mat the top which is a cape very confident
00:55:38outfit thank you fabio fabio fabio i mean this is the improvement off the chart
00:55:43so chic my favorite look of the day i would buy it right off your body i don't give it to you thank
00:55:49you fabio i love it thanks designers please exit stage left we'll call you back soon thank you
00:55:57you know what it's going to be very difficult to send one of these designers home i think you both
00:56:13should do it oh us nina's relinquishing veto power i don't think i don't send people home that's that's
00:56:20not in my oh it's just it's very hard but why don't we just talk about who we think should win
00:56:27kane for sure for me was glamorous and runway exciting this was such a lovely introduction to him
00:56:36and his work yeah if i go back and remember what he did it was always very gilded and very
00:56:44overly designed to see the restraint that he had in designing this that's all he needed i think we
00:56:51have to give credit to bishmi though he took a look that really did not do well at all and completely
00:56:59reinvented it while staying true to the elements of that design it was glamour but at the same time
00:57:06practicality yes but also fabio really great i loved fabio i really admire the elegance and maturity
00:57:16of it it's really sophisticated fabio's was straight up american sportswear that you see
00:57:23on the runways that had a very fresh perspective well should we talk about who's going home not easy
00:57:30but let's do it what did you guys think about karisan you're talking about the mermaid
00:57:37that stressed me out to no end the cut of that slit was not right i could see everything under the
00:57:45dress i have to say i was surprised that that was from karisan i think had she taken out all that
00:57:52beating shortened the gown and kept the train long it would have been spectacular yeah
00:58:00should we move to nora well when she walked out the runway the first time i went oh and then when
00:58:06it was in front of me and i was looking at it for a long time i went oh it's kind of pretty as a
00:58:11bridesmaid's dress that girl looks great i didn't mind nora's dress she brings such a different
00:58:17perspective but it was just executed so poorly i think it was the right idea that needed more time
00:58:23and it just needed an expert hand sewing is a core part of this competition 100 this is a sink or
00:58:29swim environment and unfortunately i don't think she has the fins to stay afloat i think that victor
00:58:36really has a lane i think he was just trying to show us tonight how many lanes he can go down and we
00:58:41got the message loud and clear i have to say the longer i looked at it up close the more i appreciated
00:58:48his skill level when i first saw it go down the runway i didn't like it did you connect the stilts to
00:58:53the didn't sorry guys that was over my head so that was the first thing i connected i saw legs
00:59:01and i thought that's really smart wow i i can immediately tell it's connected and then i got to
00:59:06the skirt it just looked like it was just randomly basted on it was sitting right below all of this
00:59:13gorgeous handwork and we just didn't need it it never gets easier doing this but i guess we know who
00:59:20needs to go home fabio bishmi and kane the three of you redeemed yourselves tonight but unfortunately
00:59:45only one of you can win the ten thousand dollars that's on the table tonight you don't split it
00:59:52i'm good with that i'm good with that the winner of this challenge successfully changed history
01:00:00their look was modern dramatic and a successful reinvention the winner is
01:00:09kane
01:00:19you get the whole booty baby congratulations your design was definitely my favorite sophisticated
