00:01Alongside thousands of Venezuelans answered President Maduro's call and voluntarily taken to the streets across the country to enlist the National Bolivarian Militia, those defending the country from a possible U.S. military invasion. Let's see more details with our correspondent, Bruno Falzi.
00:16In Plaza Bolivar, in the Venezuelan capital, one of thousands of enlistment centers across the country, the people demonstrated their will to defend their democracy and the sovereignty of their nation, once again threatened by the United States.
00:33Today we are here supporting our president, Nicolás Maduro, joining the Bolivarian Militia of Venezuela so that we can continue to fight.
00:42We are here because we are very spirited and we do not want any North American country to come here and interrupt our revolution.
00:50If the country is under threat, regardless of political affiliations or opinions, the first duty of every citizen is to defend it,
00:59and the first way to demonstrate and fulfill that duty is to enlist.
01:04The U.S. seeks to use the anti-drug narrative to intervene in Venezuela, but the people know is another manipulation and support their democracy.
01:16These accusations are unfounded because we know that we are not a narco-government.
01:21We are a government that works hard and defends our homeland.
01:26We are warriors and we are determined to ensure that this Bolivarian revolution continues for many decades to come.
01:33We know that these accusations are completely false. They are only using them to do what they have always done.
01:38They use accusations to invade and justify their terrorist acts. This is a terrorist attack.
01:43And we are telling you here and now, if you mess with Nicolás, you mess with the people.
01:47Crowns of citizens responded to the call by affirming their support for the president, their democracy in a strong demonstration of national unity.
01:58We came here to support the president of the republic voluntarily, to safeguard and protect what Chávez fought so hard to achieve in the revolution here in Venezuela and now that President Maduro is continuing this struggle.
02:13We are here, many like me, for life, for the right to live in peace, for the love of our children.
02:21And if it is for our children, it is for our family and if it is for our family, it is for our country because our country is yours, mine and everyone's home and we have to protect it and defend it under any circumstances.
02:32A survey shows that 75% of the Venezuelan population is against the United States intervention and going to continue to be mobilized to defend their sovereignty.
