Woman in Gold 2015 Biographical Drama Romance Movie Woman in Gold is a biographical drama film based on the true story of Maria Altmann, a Holocaust survivor who fought to reclaim her family's art stolen by the Nazis. The movie follows Maria, played by Helen Mirren, as she discovers letters from her sister revealing an attempt to recover artwork owned by the Bloch-Bauer family, including Gustav Klimt's iconic painting "Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I". With the help of her young lawyer, E. Randol Schoenberg, played by Ryan Reynolds, Maria battles the Austrian government for almost a decade to retrieve the painting.
