Terror financing has gone digital. Jaish-e-Mohammad, the Pakistan-based terror group led by Masood Azhar, is now using mobile wallets like Easypaisa and SadaPay to move money outside the banking system. Reports reveal that dozens of e-wallets are linked to the group, many directly tied to Azhar’s family. These wallets are constantly replaced, making them hard to trace. At least 30 new ones are activated every month, and funds are split into smaller amounts to avoid detection. The group has drawn up a 3.9-billion Pakistani rupee plan to build 313 mini-camps, but much of the money is suspected to be diverted to weapons and operations against India. As digital transactions grow, India’s security agencies face a new frontier — fighting terror not just on the ground, but inside the digital world.

00:00A new front is emerging in India's fight against terrorism.
00:06It's not about guns or terror camps, it is about money and how it is being moved.
00:11Jaish-e-Mohammad has found a new lifeline, not through banks, but through simple digital wallets and phones,
00:17the kind used by millions for shopping and payments.
00:20Reports say Jaish is using mobile wallets to raise money.
00:24Wallets linked to Masood Azhar's own family are being used.
00:28First, funds are being collected and then they're being broken into smaller amounts.
00:32The money is withdrawn in cash and funneled towards new terrorist activities.
00:37Every few months the system resets, fresh digital wallets are opened, the old ones, the old digital trail disappears.
00:44And this makes the money almost impossible to trace.
00:48It's a new challenge that India must confront, a terror financing network inside the digital world.
00:55Here's a report.
00:55A simple mobile app, an account created in a family member's name.
01:01No branches, no bank records, just a digital ID.
01:06The money is moved with a few clicks from one wallet to another, from wallet to cash.
01:12And it all happens outside the regular banking system.
01:16This is how Jaish-e-Mohammad is raising funds today.
01:20The Pakistan-based terror group is now using digital wallets.
01:24Reports say these wallets are linked directly to the family of Masood Azhar, the group's leader.
01:33Jaish-e-Mohammad was hit hard by India's Operation Sindor.
01:37Its headquarters and camps were destroyed.
01:39Now it is adapting by moving money online, by hiding transactions in plain sight.
01:49The group is using Pakistani wallets like EasyPiSaw and Satapay.
01:57At least five have been identified with direct links to the organization.
02:01But reports say the real number is much higher.
02:04Seven to eight wallets are used at any given time.
02:08They are replaced every four months.
02:10When money piles up, it is split into smaller amounts.
02:14Or withdrawn in cash.
02:16And then the cycle begins again.
02:19At least 30 new wallets are activated every month.
02:23Why this shift?
02:24Because watchdogs like the FATF track bank accounts.
02:28They can see deposits.
02:29They can freeze transfers.
02:33But they cannot trace wallet-to-wallet transactions.
02:36That trail is invisible.
02:38And the Jaish is exploiting it.
02:40The money is not just for survival.
02:43Reports say the group has drawn up a 3.9 billion Pakistani rupee plan.
02:49This is to build a vast network of markaz, or religious centers.
02:54The plan is to set up 313 mini camps.
02:59They will be spread across Pakistan.
03:01So that Indian forces find them harder to target.
03:06But here is the problem.
03:07Even generous estimates put the real cost, for this, at only 1.2 billion rupees.
03:14That means most of the money will go elsewhere.
03:19Towards weapons.
03:20Towards equipment.
03:21Towards sustaining operations against India.
03:24The picture is stark.
03:26On one side, a scattered network of mini camps.
03:30On the other, a web of mobile wallets silently pulling in donations.
03:36Amounts split into fragments.
03:39Moving constantly.
03:40Hard to trace.
03:41Harder to shut down.
03:42This is the new face of tariff funding.
03:46From banks to apps.
03:47From accounts to wallets.
03:49From centralized structures to decentralized networks.
03:52India's security agencies are tracking these patterns.
03:59They have identified some wallets.
04:01But the challenge is enormous.
04:03Because this system resets itself every few months.
04:08And because every transaction can be broken down into smaller pieces.
04:13J.S.H. Mohammed has learned from its losses.
04:15It is using technology to stay ahead.
04:18And it is turning the very tools of everyday convenience into tools of terror finance.
04:25The fight against terrorism is no longer only about soldiers and strikes.
04:30It is also about digital trails.
04:32The battlefield has expanded.
04:35And India now faces a new challenge.
