00:00This came off a super exciting weekend from the NWSL.
00:04Like you guys said, we have exciting trade, record-breaking news.
00:07But let's start off with the game we talked about in the last season.
00:10Orlando Pride versus Kansas City Currents.
00:13Ended up in a 0-0 draw.
00:14This was a difficult game.
00:16I mean, what did you guys think about that?
00:18It was a tough game, Chiba.
00:19We see why these two teams were the finalists last season.
00:22The parity between the two is great.
00:24The level of the players, the strategy on the team.
00:27I see that these two teams will become dynasties
00:30because they have something very important in the world, Chiba.
00:34Do you imagine paying?
00:36Let me make a little point.
00:38Less than a month ago, we were looking at the most expensive signing
00:42in the women's world, $1 million.
00:44Just today, this week, $2 million, Chiba.
00:48Let's see. Camila, tell us this big news.
00:51Yes, we have a super exciting transfer coming from Mexico,
00:54coming from Tigres, Lisbeth Ovalle, at a whopping $2 million deal.
00:59This is record-breaking for the women's side of football.
01:02She is a fantastic winger, and I think it's going to bring so much
01:05to this Orlando Pride team, who we saw struggled,
01:08only got one shot on target during this last game.
01:11But maybe their luck is changing, and yeah, we'll see.
01:14Chiba, what do you think of a team that goes and has Marta,
01:19the best female player that the game has ever seen,
01:22and then now they bring the most expensive one?
01:25What is this as a statement for the NWSL?
01:28I mean, they're the current champions.
01:29They want to make sure they keep winning more championships
01:33if they go back-to-back.
01:34But seeing a player coming from the Mexican League
01:37that only tells you how much the women's soccer
01:41is growing around the world,
01:42and I'm so happy to see signings like this.
01:44And I have to give a shout-out to the Mexican League
01:46because they have done such an amazing job
01:48of integrating the women's game into their league
01:51because in Mexico, every professional team
01:54also has a women's team,
01:56and that has allowed the Mexican players
01:58to become some of the hottest players around the world.
02:01Camila, what do you think it is the future of the league
02:03now that we see that the money is being spent
02:05not only in buying franchises,
02:06but also bringing some of the best players?
02:08I mean, this means so much for the women's game.
02:10Not only did we see a record-breaking transfer,
02:13but again, we are seeing two brand-new teams,
02:16brand-new franchises coming into this upcoming season.
02:19So I think it's just another testament
02:20to how rapidly this league is growing,
02:23and I think it's going to be total world domination
02:26on the women's side of football.
02:27We saw that the NWSL has a bunch of players
02:31already nominated to the Ballon d'Or,
02:33like we covered last week.
02:34Chiba, this league is very exciting,
02:37but how do you feel wearing that jersey
02:39to see that a Mexican player is now
02:42the most expensive signing in the history of sports?
02:46I mean, super proud.
02:46Like I said, we're proud of the League of the Americas.
02:48I mean, they come up, you know, very good.
02:51At the beginning, they struggled a little bit with the league.
02:54Like you said, every single professional team of the men's team
02:57have a female team,
02:59and men right now are doing so good.
03:00You can see that the national teams as well,
03:02that this league is growing so much
03:04that now you have the number one signing
03:06in the history of NWSL coming to the USA.
03:09And I mean, soccer all over the world is going,
03:11but specifically here in the United States,
03:14I think it's taking the same path as the MLS,
03:16where they have their own stadiums,
03:17where they have a lot of franchises,
03:19and they're only here to make the sport grow,
03:22and that has to be exciting for everybody.
03:24That is right.
03:25We are very excited to see the growth of the game,
03:27and we will continue to cover it.
03:29Before we go on a break, Camila,
03:31let us know what is your pick
03:33for the best game this weekend in NWSL?
03:36Oh, so many exciting, great games this weekend.
03:38But if I had to choose,
03:39it would be San Diego Wave versus Racing Louisville.
03:42And let me tell you guys why.
03:43Because not only was San Diego Wave
03:45able to get a fantastic three points win this weekend,
03:48but they were able to climb the stands of the NWSL
03:52and are in second place right now
03:54on top of Orlando Pride last season's champion.
03:57So they need this win.
03:58They need the three points to hang on
04:00to that point in the standings.
