'We're Back On The World Stage—Where People Are Fearing Us': GA Lt. Gov. Burt Jones Lauds Trump

During a rally alongside Vice President J.D. Vance on Thursday, Georgia Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones applauded President Trump's foreign policy agenda and policies.

00:00It is good to be here and put a great crowd and I'm going to first I'm going to thank the Brown family, Rex, Justin, here.

00:11Where are you guys? Yeah, let's give them a little bit of applause.

00:21What an outstanding facility. I got to beat some of their folks that work here for them and met a young lady who's been running here 30 years.

00:29There's another one 12 years and you can tell that this is a family business that cares about their employees and cares about the American way.

00:39But it's born here, raised here, and also producing a great product right here in Bayon County, Georgia.

00:46Let's give them a little bit of applause.

00:47I want to thank the superhighers that came before us, my neighbor, Mike Collins, and also a former colleague, Buddy Carter, right here.

01:03Also, I want to thank Coach Dooley.

01:05Coach Dooley, he recruited me out of high school when he was at SMU.

01:10He didn't realize they didn't have much ability, so he didn't waste much time on it, but it's good to have both of them here.

01:17I know we have Secretary Loeffler.

01:19Kelly, where are you?

01:20Kelly, she's here today.

01:22Let's give Secretary Loeffler a big round of applause.

01:25We have many House, State House, and Senate members here.

01:35I know I say Senator John Kennedy, Tim Bearden.

01:39I know I saw Representative Houston Gaines here, Beth Camp.

01:43I know y'all, all the State House and Senate members, stand up and be recognized here real quick, please.

01:49That's your former congressman, Drew Ferguson, right here.

02:01He used to represent this district very well.

02:06And I'd be remiss if I didn't mention my good friend, Brian Jack, congressman John Kennedy.

02:15If I missed anybody, I apologize.

02:17I came in the back door with how they usually let me in on places.

02:22They won't ever let me in the front.

02:23But it is great to be here.

02:25I'm Bert Jones.

02:26I'm the lieutenant governor here at this great state.

02:28And I'm like the Brown family.

02:32I'm from a little small town over in Jackson, Georgia, and I have a family business there.

02:36I'm very proud of it.

02:38And I'm going to be running for governor because I want the great state of Georgia to continue to be a great state.

02:43We've had a lot of great strides here, a lot of things to be proud about, the number one state to do business for the last 11 years.

02:55We've had unbelievable growth from an economic standpoint, from a population standpoint, and we're going to keep going.

03:02And I could not be happier to have a partner right now in the Trump-Vance administration that we have right now here in our country.

03:11How about this?

03:12We have not had a city vice president come to this area of the state in 33 years.

03:20And so we want to thank Vice President Vance for being here today.

03:24I got to see him earlier today when he got off the airplane.

03:27He's excited about being here in Georgia.

03:29He's excited about promoting the big, beautiful bill.

03:33And because I'm excited, I'm excited because America's back, ladies and gentlemen.

03:38America's back.

03:39We're back on the domestic stage, including America first, from America's jobs first, from American industry first, and also securing our border.

03:54But more and also, just as important, we're back on the world stage where people are fearing us through strength.

04:00Through strength.

04:01Now, as your name is your next governor, and I hope I can earn all of y'all's support.

04:11Well, the things I'm going to focus on are going to be very simple.

04:14We're going to try to keep this economy running.

04:16We're going to try to keep us the number one state-toothed business.

04:18And I want to do that by incentivizing people by eliminating our state income tax.

04:22That's what I'm going to do.

04:28We're going to prioritize education.

04:30We're going to prioritize skill-based education in our school system.

04:34We're going to prioritize public safety.

04:37I see my good sheriff in Calhoun and Kent in there.

04:39We're going to be involved in other states.

04:46And we are going to be prioritizing Georgia workers and Georgia citizens here in this state.

04:52And we're going to promote companies just like this one today because that is the backbone of family businesses.

05:01Home businesses is the backbone of our economy.

05:03And we want to incentivize them to strive here in the state of Georgia.

05:07And if I'm the governor, that will happen.

05:09I can promise you.

05:10This is a great opportunity.

05:18And I will tell you right now, somebody said, who's your competition?

05:23I said, I don't worry about competition.

05:24So I think you catch more fish watching your own court.

05:29Because that's an old Georgia term, if you don't know that, by the way.

05:32But I'm not going to focus on that.

05:35I'm going to focus on earning your vote.

05:38And I was proud to have President Trump's endorsement last week.

05:42He said that.

05:43Thank you very much.

05:49I've been with President Trump since he first came down the escalator way back in 2015.

05:54And I never wavered from him.

05:56And he rewarded me by saying, you know, Bert, you've never asked for anything.

06:01When can I endorse you for governor?

06:03I said, now as good as any governor is Mr. President.

06:07So I appreciate that.

06:08But when the Vice President gets on stage, let's give him a great warm welcome, a Georgia welcome.

06:14Because it is such an honor to have him here today.

06:16I appreciate each and every one of y'all here.

06:18I appreciate the Brown family.

06:20I look forward to seeing y'all on the campaign trail.
