00:00Good afternoon from Boddemore Heath where Unai Emery has held his pre-match press conference
00:06ahead of Saturday's trip to Brentford. The first away game of the season for Villa and
00:12we'll be without Esri Konza. Of course he was sent off last week in the 0-0 draw with
00:18Newcastle. That creates a bit of a headache for Emery at the back. Villa don't have a
00:22direct replacement at right-sided centre-back. The hint today from the Villa manager is it
00:28will be Lamar Bogard who will come in for Konza, the 21-year-old who has played in
00:34defence before, who's also played in midfield, also played at right-back. A bit of a
00:39versatile player for Villa but Emery listing Bogard, Tyrone Mings and Pau Torres as
00:46his centre-back options for tomorrow. Having said that, having led to a few Unai Emery
00:51press conferences over the last three years, it could be a red herring. Often it's
00:56the player that Emery doesn't mention who actually gets the nod and perhaps
01:01Boubacar Kamara might also be an option for Villa at centre-back alongside either
01:06Tyrone Mings or Pau Torres. Villa are obviously looking to kickstart their season
01:11after a fairly kind of drab 0-0 draw opening with Newcastle. Of course, as you
01:18would expect with 10 days left until the transfer window closes, much of the talk
01:21today was about transfers. Unai Emery admitting that Villa still have work
01:26to do in the market. Alex Moreno is poised to become the 12th senior player to leave the
01:33club this summer. He's due to join Girona on a free transfer. Emery saying that he wants
01:39two players for every position and that they're hopeful of getting more deals done between now
01:46and the September 1st deadline. The manager also saying that it's possible that other players could
01:52still leave. I mean, you do wonder who Villa could sell or move on at this point. I mean,
01:59it has all been largely about outgoings. The focus now mainly is on incomings. Marco Asensio,
02:06Paris Saint-Germain, that remains a possibility on loan before the deadline. Also, Nicholas Jackson at
02:13Chelsea, Villa working to try and get a deal done there. But Chelsea asking for a big loan fee at
02:19the moment, the kind of fee that Villa wouldn't be able to afford. So both those deals, Jackson and
02:25Asensio, you get the sense, are going to run quite late into the window.
