00:00Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the characters on and just like that that we couldn't help but wonder, where did they go? And what happened to them?
00:20Number 10. Tony Danza
00:23Remember when Tony Danza popped up in season 2? No? Don't worry, the writers barely seem to either.
00:30Oh, you haven't seen it yet. That's what I heard.
00:36Che, I'm really excited about being in your project. I feel like there's a buck coming.
00:43He's cast as Che's dad on their sitcom, even though he's not Mexican, because, you know, and just like that cannot resist shoehorning in a hot-button topic with zero nuance and usually even less style.
00:54Danza shows up in two episodes, and that's it.
00:57I'm not allowed to call you my little cannoli anymore? Who am I offending now? The pastry cream or the shell?
01:03I'm trying to be true to myself, but I'm afraid to let you down.
01:10Sure, Che's pilot tanks, but that doesn't happen for a few more episodes. Plus, according to the focus group, they didn't care for Che, but they loved him.
01:18So where'd he go? Maybe he realized guest starring on And Just Like That was about as misguided as casting an Italian-American actor to play a Latino character.
01:27I've come too far to get canceled now. And the Danza Lions agree with me.
01:34I'm sorry, the Danza Lions?
01:36My hardcore fans.
01:37Number nine, Lois Fingerhood.
01:40Okay, so Kristen Schaal was a one-time guest star, but her storyline was quite pivotal to the episode.
01:45I see what's going on here.
01:47Miss Fingerhood.
01:48My daughter will be a senior, too.
01:51All we ask is 30 seconds of your time. 30 seconds, and you will never hear from us again.
01:56Bases are loaded.
01:58Talk fast.
01:59In yet another scramble to stay topical, the show takes on how rich families find backdoor ways into Ivy League schools.
02:06Charlotte and Lisa hire Lois Fingerhood, who is supposed to guide Lily and Herbert Jr. onto the right path.
02:12Instead, her advice just sends the kids and their moms spinning.
02:15Don't mention that I'm Asian or adopted.
02:20Oh, my God!
02:21I mean, it's just that she wants more relatably African-American experiences.
02:26I mean, Mom, am I inauthentic?
02:28Then Charlotte cusses her out.
02:30Lois leaves, and that's it.
02:32She's gone.
02:33So do Lily and Herbert Jr. follow her advice?
02:36Do Charlotte and Lisa fix things with her?
02:38The whole plot feels like it just gets dropped, leaving way more questions than answers.
02:43Again, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy schedule.
02:47Oh, yeah, this has been a real pleasure.
02:49You forgot your troubles?
02:50Mm-hmm.
02:52Good luck with Debbie.
02:54Number 8.
02:54Zedd
02:55In the back half of Season 1, Seema meets nightclub owner Zedd.
02:59And by the finale, things are getting pretty hot and heavy.
03:03But Seema starts rethinking the fling once she finds out about his questionable living situation.
03:07Don't get out, Rocco.
03:08No time.
03:09What's up, boss?
03:12Where are you going?
03:13To my home, which I don't live in with my ex-wife.
03:17She has the top two floors.
03:19I'm on the first.
03:20Separate entrance.
03:21After chatting with her hairstylist and then breaking it down with Carrie,
03:25she wonders if maybe she was too quick to judge.
03:27He said, I make up red flags just to get out?
03:31And that's why I'm alone?
03:33He said that to you?
03:35Actually, he screamed it out in a salon.
03:37Only this time, it turns out her instincts were dead on.
03:41At dinner, Zedd pitches her a business proposition.
03:44So Seema promptly gets up, leaves him to his chocolate mousse and never looks back.
03:49And neither does the show.
03:51Zedd completely vanishes, making his storyline feel like just another loose end.
03:56Where are you going?
03:59We're having chocolate mousse.
04:02Who the f***s want Jose?
04:06Number 7.
04:07Lisa's Dad
04:08By season 3, the and just like that writers learn their audience isn't very forgiving
04:13and had been following details like a hawk.
04:16I could barely keep it together in front of the girls just now.
04:18I was the exact same way when I lost my dad last year.
04:21I could see my rings literally shaking on my hands while I was trying to be so strong for them.
04:26So when Lisa's dad dies in season 3,
04:29it took no time for fans to point out that she had already mentioned losing her father back in season 1.
04:34Worse still, the man himself appears, played by Billy Dee Williams between his two deaths,
04:40showing up at Lisa and Herbert's 20th wedding anniversary party.
04:43Oh, Daddy, I'm so happy you came.
04:46Darling, this looks like it has the makings of a magical evening.
04:52The writers tried to defend this by saying she had actually been talking about her stepdad in season 1.
04:57Okay, yeah, sure.
04:59We gotta be honest, it sounds more like they forgot their own storylines than hoped we would too.
05:04My father was there for him.
05:09It seems as if my father was always there.
05:14Number 6. Carrie's Podcast Peers
05:17In the pilot, Carrie joins a podcast that seems like a natural step from her columns,
05:21though a stretch for someone who once struggled to wrap her head around bisexuality.
05:25X, Y, and Me, the podcast that talks about gender roles, sexual roles, and cinnamon roles.
05:31All the roles I care passionately about.
05:33Over the series, we meet her podcast crew, the third co-host Jackie, and producers Chloe and Franklin.
05:40Here's an interesting mix, bringing together different creative perspectives.
05:43But it all starts to unravel once Che quits the podcast world.
05:47I think that X, Y, and Me did what I wanted it to do.
05:50And, uh, yeah, on to other things.
05:52I love you all, and I am so f***ing proud of what we did here.
05:56Carrie gets offered a solo show, and Jackie drifts out, followed by Chloe.
06:00In the end, only Franklin sticks around as his and Carrie's relationship goes from professional to personal.
06:06When Carrie ends that, he disappears from the show completely.
06:10Thank you for the sex in the city.
06:13Devil entendre intent.
06:16Number 5. Naya
06:17Out of all the new characters in this revival, Naya was the most interesting, with a ton of story potential.
06:24But ahead of season 3, it was announced Karen Pittman would not be coming back, reportedly due to scheduling conflicts.
06:30Because I got my period this morning.
06:32Oh, s***.
06:34Oh, I'm sorry to hear.
06:35Yeah, we're still, you know, off the IVF, but trying.
06:39And I was almost two weeks late.
06:41Some fans probably noticed she'd been showing up less and less in season 2,
06:45apparently because of her commitment to other projects.
06:48It seems she was supposed to return for season 3, but the timings just didn't work.
06:52Okay, well, my husband and I just separated, so my mind isn't working that way yet.
06:56Did you see his arms in that shirt?
07:00I think your mind is working that way, so why don't you give him your number and make it quick, because we are late for lunch.
07:07Apparently, the writers even had some story arcs lined up for her.
07:10All of which got scrapped.
07:12Surely they could have used at least one to explain her absence, instead of acting like she never even existed.
07:18I can't believe this.
07:20Naya, you're a jewel.
07:25Everyone here at Columbia knows that.
07:28And now the American Law Institute wants you in their crown as well.
07:33Number 4.
07:35Che.
07:35Carrie's podcast boss and Miranda's partner in seasons 1 and 2 struggled to win fans over, so few mourned their exit.
07:42I fully acknowledge that we are complicated, diverse beings here on this wondrous planet, all just striving to be our very best self.
07:51Many of us just trying to get laid.
07:53Or at least that's what we talk about on my shows.
07:55Still, the writers acting as if they were never there to begin with was baffling.
07:59The official line was that Che's story had reached its natural end.
08:03Oh, come on.
08:04Che wasn't some quiet background character.
08:06They had stormed in like a hurricane and left a mark, whether you loved them or hated them.
08:11You ruined the family scene!
08:13Well, I had my own family scene and it was real.
08:17Oh.
08:18So, I'm not going to be able to see the rest of the show.
08:21I'm on an 8 o'clock flight and hopefully I'll beat Brady home.
08:25Wait, wait, wait.
08:25I'm sorry, you're leaving LA?
08:26Even without Sara Ramirez, you'd expect the aftermath of their story to at least get a passing nod.
08:32Nope.
08:33They acted like Che never happened.
08:35We remember Che.
08:36We still talk about Che.
08:38So, why bother pretending otherwise?
08:40Che!
08:42I'm really, really sorry.
08:45Could we not say goodbye on a yucky note like this?
08:48Number 3.
08:49Stanford
08:49Sadly, Willie Garson passed away during production on the first season.
08:53So, of course, plans for Stanford couldn't unfold as intended.
08:57Apparently, he was meant to have some midlife crisis, which, if you ask us, he kind of did anyway.
09:03By the time you read this, I'll be in Tokyo.
09:06I mean, who is he?
09:07The lost Bronte sister?
09:09He said he couldn't bring himself to tell you he was leaving face to face after Big died.
09:13Right, and a note is so much more compassionate.
09:15Oh, you know Stanny.
09:16He hates to disappoint people in person.
09:19The writers seemed unsure how to handle this loss, so they shipped him off to Japan, hoping audiences would just move on.
09:26As Carrie's bestie and a long-time fan favorite, this was never gonna happen.
09:30He had a big, ugly fight with his TikTok client.
09:34She fired him and ran off to Berlin.
09:37He wandered around Kyoto for days crying, eventually found his way into a temple where, I guess, he stopped crying.
09:48Showrunner Michael Patrick King even called it, quote, a fast fix, saying they, quote, skated over it to at least let Stanford live on in memory of Garson.
09:57Touching, yes, but the character and actor still deserved so much better.
10:02I have let go of all things that no longer serve me, and I let it all go with love.
10:09Number 2.
10:10Big
10:11When you really think about it, making us invest six seasons and two movies in this relationship only to kill Big off in the very first And Just Like That episode felt like a slap in the face.
10:21And just like that, Big died.
10:25Still, Carrie needed to start a new era, and Big was just an obstacle in the way.
10:30Then, with the allegations against Chris Noth, the show clearly wanted as much distance from him and the character as possible.
10:37After giving Carrie a proper morning period, they rushed her forward.
10:41I've been asking myself, was Big a big mistake?
10:48By season 3, she's questioning everything about their relationship and even hiding her marriage.
10:53And just like that, Big became nothing but a ghost from Carrie's past.
10:58If it comes up, I was never married.
11:00Okay, neither was I.

11:17Number 1.
11:18Samantha
11:19Kim Cattrall didn't return for the revival, much to fans' dismay.
11:23The reported reasons are well known, but it felt like the writers chose to drag that feud into the spotlight.
11:29Look, I understand that she was upset, but I thought I was more to her than an ATM.
11:33You are.
11:35She was embarrassed.
11:37So embarrassed you took a job and moved to London?
11:39For a while, they tried to appease us with texts, keeping her involved.
11:43Then came the season 2 cameo, seemingly her final send-off.
11:47You were flying all the way to New York for an overnight?
11:51Well, it is your apartment, and I have to pay my respects.
11:53Another text appeared in season 3, but it's strange we didn't see more of Samantha,
11:58given that she and Carrie had apparently made up enough for her to fly from London for one dinner.
12:03Maybe the writers were just trying to shift focus from how they'd written her out,
12:06rather than erase Samantha entirely.
12:08Either way, Samantha stans were not forgiving or forgetting anything.
12:12F*** me badly once, shame on you.
12:14F*** me badly twice, shame on me.
12:17Is that the saying?
12:19That's my saying.
12:20Which character are you still thinking about and wondering what happened?
12:24Let us know in the comments.
12:25He's let it all go, and I sit here still holding on to things I'm not sure even served me.
