McDonald’s is putting the “value” back in value meals

The company revealed plans to slash prices on combo meals

00:11after some Big Mac meals hit $18 in certain locations.

00:15The chain and its franchisees will price eight popular combos at least 15% cheaper

00:21than buying each item separately.

00:23In the coming months, $5 breakfast deals and $8 Big Mac and McNugget combos

00:28branded as extra-value meals will also roll out.

00:31That's according to The Wall Street Journal.

00:33This comes after weeks of talks between McDonald's and franchise operators,

00:37including the company offering financial support for those who agreed to lower prices.

00:42Earlier this month, McDonald's said that low- and middle-income customers

00:46were cutting back on spending and visits.

00:48The hope? A more affordable menu will bring those customers back through the doors.
