00:00Hi, I'm Darren, Senior Creative Director on Skate.
00:09I'm Jeff Seamster, I'm the Head of Creative at Full Circle.
00:12Right now we're working on Skate, which is the next evolution of the Skate franchise
00:16that's taking place in a large-scale multiplayer world.
00:19So all the things that you know and love about Skate will be happening alongside
00:23tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, millions of other players.
00:26What we're excited to talk about today, I'm excited to talk about this game forever.
00:29I'm excited to talk about the systems in the depth of the skateboarding gameplay forever.
00:34Two of the biggest new systems in the game are slappies and wallies.
00:37If you're a new player and you run into a curb, instead of falling, you now transition into a grind.
00:42If you're an expert player and you know what a slappy is, you can now get into a slappy
00:46and you can like rotate into different grind positions.
00:49It just opens up a brand new possibility space.
00:52If you smash into a wall or if you ollie late, typically you would fall.
00:56And now it's a system that you can use intentionally to wallie off of a thing, get into another trick
01:01or do a late trick.
01:02Like I don't know how many tricks there are in the game.
01:04Like it's almost infinite, right?
01:06Like there's held flips.
01:07You can kick flip forever.
01:08You can hold a 360 flip to do a 1040 flip.
01:11If you have enough air, we always had a pretty good connection to our community,
01:15but it was more in the, the games out, you know, talk to you about what you're doing in the game.
01:20That's been released.
01:21Whereas we had brought in a community, a player council, and we talked to them about like,
01:25Hey, this is the idea.
01:26This is, this is where we think we would like to go.
01:28But they were the first ones that got to play the game two and a half years ago.
01:31That conversation is so much deeper and broader than it's ever been.
01:35There's a verticality that's different in the game.
01:38Now it isn't just about footprint in skate one.
01:41You couldn't get off your board in skate two.
01:43You could walk around skate three.
01:44The walking around, we got a little bit better.
01:46We are light years ahead of where we were in the previous games.
01:50And now you can climb and now you can swing.
01:53And now you can combine all of these systems together.
01:56And the depth of the skating is better and bigger than it's ever been.
02:00I'll leave you with one last thing.
02:01Anecdotally I've had in the last five to 10 years.
02:04I can't tell you how many pros that are either just pros or established pros that have connected
02:10or try to reach out to me to be like this game, this franchise is why I started skateboarding.
02:15Like Tyshawn Jones is like multiple skater of the year started skating because of this game.
02:21There are four, three or four tricks that did not exist until we came up with the mapping for our control scheme.
02:28No one had done them.
02:29Mike Carroll did the very first Nollie 360 inward heel flip ever.
02:32Chris Haslam did the first 360 hard flip ever in Burnaby at our mocap stage because we needed it.
02:39They didn't exist.
02:40We are very excited for people to see like the continued visual and gameplay and activity development that is happening,
02:47you know, already in our play test.
02:49So there's quite a bit more to come there.
02:51We are really looking forward to skating alongside you in San Van coming up on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X.
02:59Add us to your wish list while you're there.
03:01It really helps us to hear from you and you'll get updates as they come out.
03:04And speaking of updates, we've got a really big one coming your way.
03:07I think it's one you've been waiting for a long time.
03:10So stay tuned with us next week.
03:12I'm on the way.
03:14So I'm going to be waiting for a little bit.
03:15Let's go with a little bit.
03:16Let's go.
03:17In the way.
03:18You'll be waiting for a little bit.
03:19Let's go.
03:20I'm looking for a little bit.
03:21Let's go.
