00:01Hello everybody, welcome back. So today I'm going to try something new. This is going to be the new Jets corner. I can't find my Jets hat. I think it's in the car, but I have my little Jets snowman here.
00:13And it's preseason right now. We're getting ready. Two days from now, it's the final preseason game. None of the stars are playing. So let me just give you my little thoughts on the Jets. I've been a Jets fan since 1979, I believe. I was like eight years old and going on nine.
00:30And the Jets were okay. They had some pieces, you know. And then in 83, we got Kenny O'Brien, and I really liked him from the very beginning. I just thought he never really had a good chance because his offensive line was terrible, and Miami's line was so good with Marino and whatnot. Anyway, so I suffered through all that and everything afterwards.
00:49But, you know, for a while there, like 86, I think, was really the peak of fun for me. And then in the late 90s as well with Testo Verde, etc.
01:00But, you know, I was so excited with Aaron Rodgers thing. I really was. I still think he's going to do okay this year if he's not hurt. Because last year when he finally started getting healthy, he started playing really well.
01:13So there's no reason to believe that he won't do that again if he can keep away from getting hurt, and especially as a kid to keep it together.
01:20Anyway, Justin Fields, I really don't have any confidence in this guy. We don't know what he's capable of. Well, we know what he's capable of because he was good in college and everything.
01:29But, you know, he has moments in the NFL. That's not going to cut it. And we have no receiving core except for Garrett Wilson.
01:35So he's going to get completely doubled and triple teamed or whatever. And everybody else is good luck with that.
01:42There's rumors we're trying to get a second wide receiver like Terry McLaurin. I don't think it's going to happen.
01:46They're probably going to ask too much. We probably won't be able to sign him to a three-year contract, a four-year, whatever he's looking for.
01:51So I don't really want to get too excited about that. I don't see too many other things out there that's too appealing right now.
01:57So it's going to be a rough year, I think. I'm very excited about the running game.
02:03They better not trade Brees Hall. He's fabulous. Never reached his potential quite yet.
02:08But now we have an offensive line. I'm very impressed with him in the preseason.
02:11So I think, you know, he's got a really good shot along with Braylon Allen to really pop off this year.
02:19So we're going to be looking for that. Mason Taylor looks like a good tight end.
02:23And then maybe he can be the second receiver. But I don't know. I don't know. It's going to be kind of weird.
02:29I really wish Justin Fields all the best, but I don't have – he's got to show me something.
02:34You know, he's got to show me.
02:36So the defense, defense looks all right.
02:40Congratulations to Tofele getting the contract. He looked great in the preseason.
02:43I like some of our undrafted free agents. I like the backup quarterbacks that we have with Martinez and the other guy.
02:53Some of the young running receivers look a little promising. You know, we'll see what happens.
02:58I mean, I think there will be a lot of great moments and a lot of disasters.
03:01But, you know, what else to do for the Jets, right?
03:04But, anyway, no, I will not change teams to root for. I don't change teams. It's just, nah, I don't do that.
03:13So, you know, I get a lot of joy out of the Jets every once in a while. It's, you know, fun.
03:20So, what else can we talk about?
03:24The contracts, Muji. Muji looks like he's on the ball.
03:27Aaron Glenn looks the perfect, perfect coach for this team.
03:30I mean, I would not have chosen anybody else. This was the perfect hire.
03:36Muji looks really good.
03:37And I think in a couple of years, this team will look okay.
03:40We just need a quarterback.
03:42And I have to say, I'm very upset that Jackson Dart ended up on the Giants.
03:50Because I thought the Jets should have gone out and picked him up.
03:53The Giants getting him, he's going to be a major annoyance for 15 years.
03:59And you know what? The same thing might happen with New England's new QB as well.
04:04So, hopefully that's not the case.
04:06But, anyway, I'll be rooting for my friend Gaurav's team, the Washington Commanders, this year.
04:12And we'll see what happens.
04:15So, that's my prognostication.
04:16I think maybe four or five games to win would be, you know, impressive, frankly.
04:23So, we'll see what happens.
