00:00We are sitting in the Botstill on Oak Street. If you don't know where this pub is, it's not too far away from Suckehill Street. It's just up from Glasgow Central, which is just down the hill there. This is a pub that I've been coming to for several years now since I was allowed into pubs.
00:16This bar, pub, it's definitely a pub. It's a whisky. Fans haven't paradises, but as soon as you walk in here, you'll be blown away. There's over a thousand whiskeys to choose from in here. The staff are second to run. They're absolute whiskey specialists. Whatever you like, whether you like something smoky, whether you like something peaty or something that's a wee bit less in your face, they'll be able to pick you out something.
00:43They've got a revolving malt of the month, which is always a great option. If you come in here, if you're not a whisky drinker, you can come in here, talk to the staff, maybe try the wee malt of the month and move on to something that's a bit different.
00:56If you're not a whisky fan, that's absolutely fine. There's plenty of beers and cascales on offer. They've got four cascales there, which I think change on a revolving basis.
01:05You get your usual Glasgow staples here, you can get a great pint of tenants in here. The Guinness in here is exceptional. There's Heverley, Pints of Magnars, Caledonia Bess, there's all that.
01:15There's a great selection of German beers too, and bottles. I'm going to do a super pock in here, which isn't the easiest a beer to get.
01:22The reason why we're in here though is because our readers told us that the pot's still on Hope Street is Glasgow's friendliest pub.
01:29Now that is something that I would not be able to argue against, whether you're a Glaswegian, you're a tourist, whether it's your first time in here, like your hundredth time in here.
01:39You always meet very friendly punters who come into this pub. It's a great hotspot for tourists of course to the city.
01:45But it's also a great place to come on a Friday or a Saturday night for a pint with pals. It is always busy in here, but the atmosphere is always good.
01:53You can stand at the bar, order your pint, have a chat, or sit down at one of the booths down there, or come up here where we are just now and talk to somebody.
02:02So if you're in Glasgow, get yourself in here. The pot's still the friendliest pub in Glasgow.
