00:00Jones Wool & Crafts has been a staple in the Village Walk for over 40 years
00:04and unfortunately, due to a number of reasons, it'll be closing its doors at the end of September.
00:10Currently they have a 20% off sale on and they're getting rid of the last of their stock.
00:16Customers are welcome to buy in bulk and pick up from the shop.
00:19It's a massive loss to the Village Walk and to the Onken community as well as the whole island.
00:25The lease on the shop is now up and we had the option of renewing for a further nine years with a review after five.
00:36However, there's simply not enough footfall and customers find it very difficult to find a place to park.
00:44That has not been a problem in the past and the economics no longer make sense.
00:49Under no illusions, Jones has been a part of the Manx landscape for over 40 years.
00:57Lots of people have very fond memories.
00:59Well, I buy a lot of fabric in here and I get a lot of help from all the staff, especially Laura.
01:05She's sat with all sorts of different things that I've been doing.
01:10And it's very sad that they're closing down.
01:12It's a great place to come.
01:15It's a great place to get information and it's a loss to the community, really.
