00:00Sixth chapter of Genesis, how God looked down on the earth and saw that the earth was corrupt.
00:08He saw the wickedness of man was great on the earth, that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
00:14And the Lord was sorry that he had made man on the earth, and he was grieved in his heart.
00:20And he determined, I will destroy man who I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping things and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.
00:28But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.
00:33And verse 11, the earth also was corrupt before the Lord, and the earth was filled with violence.
00:41So God said, I looked upon the earth, and indeed it was corrupt, for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth.
00:47And God said to Noah, the end of all flesh has come before me, for the earth is filled with violence through them.
00:53Behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
00:55Make yourself an ark of gopher wood, make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and outside with pitch.
01:02So God's looked at the earth, he saw it was corrupt, he saw there was great violence everywhere.
01:07And he decided that he would make an end of all flesh, and he told Noah to build an ark.
01:12And he told him to build the ark, and we have a picture there of representation of what the ark may have looked like.
01:20It was a big boat, and it was carefully designed by God.
01:25And the Lord tells us in the New Testament, there were certain many parallels between what is written in the book of Genesis,
01:33the story of Noah, and teachings from the New Testament.
01:38The book of Hebrews, it tells us in chapter 11, verse 7,
01:42So Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household,
01:50by which he condemned the world and became heir of righteousness, which is according to faith.
01:55So Noah built the ark by faith, and in building the ark, he created a means by which he could save himself and his household,
02:03and the animals that went into the ark from the disaster which was coming on the earth in the form of the flood.
02:10In 2 Peter chapter 2, there's another verse which says,
02:13God did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness,
02:18bringing in the flood from the world of the ungodly.
02:22So Noah had a ministry as a preacher of righteousness.
02:26And Jesus tells us in Matthew 24,
02:29As the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
02:33As in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, and marrying and giving in marriage,
02:37until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away.
02:42So also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
02:46So Jesus says there's certain parallels between what happened in the days of Noah,
02:50and what's going to happen in the days before his second coming.
02:54And there's certain things that he wants us to learn from this, and to put into practice in our lives.
02:59So what are the three lessons which we can learn from, what's the lessons we can learn from the days of Noah?
03:07Firstly, that Noah lived in a society of great wickedness.
03:11I think we can say that we live in a world of great wickedness.
03:14We can see it all around us.
03:15We can see it every time you switch on the daily news.
03:18You can see it in the culture around us.
03:21And we can see it in general, the world situation.
03:25In the midst of this, Noah was a just man in the eyes of the Lord.
03:29So God chose a man out of this society of wickedness to be one through whom he would bring deliverance
03:35to those who would survive and bring in a new world,
03:39which would be a continuation of what God wanted to be on the earth.
03:43So today, God is looking for a company of people who will be like Noah, a just man, saved by grace,
03:51who will be his representatives, who will be able to continue God's work,
03:56particularly after the judgment which comes.
03:59And the third point, that God is going to bring judgment on the world, as in the days of Noah.
04:04In the days of Noah, there was the judgment of the flood.
04:08In the days which we're living in, there's going to be a time of judgment,
04:10which we call the Great Tribulation, which will lead up to the second coming of Jesus, the Messiah.
04:16And we'll then bring in God's new world order,
04:19when Jesus rules and reigns from Jerusalem in the thousand-year reign of the Messiah.
04:24And fourthly, God, Noah preached a warning of judgment coming,
04:28and he prepared an ark for the saving of the people.
04:32And we looked at that in some detail last week.
04:35And I mentioned that the ark was custom-made for salvation.
04:38It had one door, and there was only one way in.
04:44It was made of gopher wood, which was hardwood.
04:47It was also covered with pitch.
04:49And we saw that the word for pitch, which is used in the Hebrew Bible, is kafar,
04:53which is also the word which is used for the atoning blood of the Messiah,
04:58or atoning blood of sacrifice.
05:00So you have Yom Kippur, which is connected to the same word.
05:02So the ark was covered in pitch, which meant some kind of atoning virtue,
05:08which kept it afloat in the turbulent times.
05:11You also saw last week that if you made an ark,
05:14and I don't know if you can go back to the picture of it,
05:16but the ark actually had exactly the right dimensions.
05:21If you wanted to build a boat, which didn't have to get anywhere fast,
05:25it just had to stay afloat in very turbulent conditions.
05:30And scientists who study this subject have actually looked at the dimension of the ark
05:34and said if you wanted to keep something afloat in these conditions,
05:38that's exactly the way you build it, exactly those dimensions.
05:42I said, did Noah work that out, or did God reveal it to him?
05:46Say that God revealed it to him.
05:47And we can see that there's a parallel there actually with God's building of the vessel
05:53which he wants to contain his Holy Spirit, his people,
05:57which is actually the New Testament church.
06:00So God gave certain instructions about how it should be built.
06:03And if we go along with those, then we're building according to the plan which God made,
06:07and we can offer people salvation through Jesus the Messiah.
06:12So we see Noah prepared an ark for the saving of his household.
06:17And we saw that also God prepared the animals to come in,
06:24prepared the food for them to live while they were in the ark.
06:27And when the time came, the one door which was open was shut,
06:31and you couldn't get in anymore.
06:32Once the door was closed, there was no way in.
06:36And we saw the parable of the wise and the foolish virgins,
06:39which Jesus used as a parallel for his second coming.
06:42And he said that there's a day coming when the door will be shut,
06:44and people will be knocking on the door saying, let me in,
06:46but it'll be too late.
06:48So we need to get into the ark at the right time before the door shuts.
06:53And Jesus said that it'll be before the flood came and took them all away.
06:57So only those who have faith are going to go in.
06:59And he gave the warning beforehand.
07:02Now if you're looking at the subject of the flood from the point of view of the people in the world,
07:06it was an unmitigated disaster.
07:08It brought an end to their lives.
07:10It brought an end to their world.
07:13Nevertheless, from God's point of view, there was another aspect.
07:16It was actually the only way in which he could find to rescue the world,
07:20which at that time was in a state of great wickedness,
07:23and bring about a new start.
07:26He said there may have been some corruption which took place between the sons of God and the daughters of men,
07:31which could have some kind of demonic activity taking place to corrupt the human race.
07:37And we saw there were aspects in the previous generation of corruption, violence,
07:44possibly occultism, and some kind of immorality which was threatening to destroy the world.
07:48And God's plan was not to try and stop them from doing this,
07:53but to actually stop them all together from doing this by bringing their world to an end
07:57and bringing about a new world.
07:59And the implication in the last days of this age is it's going to be a time
08:03when things get to such a point of wickedness in the earth
08:06that God's only option is actually to bring that world to an end
08:10and to redeem certain people out of it
08:12and from those people who are redeemed then to start again with a new world order,
08:17a good new world order,
08:19which is what the Bible says is going to happen when Jesus returns.
08:23So, it was a time when God was going to rescue the people.
08:27And one of the things which comes out when you look at the account in the Bible
08:31and particularly commentaries on it and other parts of the Bible
08:35is that God was actually in control all of the time.
08:38It was not chaotic.
08:40It was not an action which was an accident, if you like.
08:44God was in control.
08:45You have a verse in the book of the Psalms, Psalm 29,
08:48which says,
08:49And interesting, the word which is used for flood there in Hebrew is mabul.
08:57It's the only time that that word is used in the Old Testament
09:01and implies something more than a local flood.
09:04There are other times when it speaks about a flood.
09:06It uses a different word.
09:08Only the deluge of Noah uses this word, mabul,
09:11which suggests it was a unique event,
09:14something which happened and which God was reigning at the time.
09:17It says, The Lord sat enthroned.
09:19The Lord sits as king forever.
09:21So, God was in control.
09:23And one of the things which God wants us to realize
09:25as we look at our world today,
09:27which is pretty much out of control,
09:29is that God is in control
09:31and that God is going to have the last word,
09:33which is an encouragement not to get disturbed
09:36and not to panic and not to get distressed
09:38when you see bad things happening in the world around you.
09:40And we saw also that the flood actually has a destructive effect,
09:46but also a salvation effect.
09:48God saw the wickedness of man.
09:50God saw that there was evil continually.
09:53And God saw that there was a danger
09:56that if they carried on this way,
09:57they were actually going to destroy the world
09:58which he had created.
10:00So, he intervened.
10:03And intervening, he executes both judgment and mercy.
10:06And when you look at the end times,
10:08you look at what's happening in the Bible,
10:09it says there's going to be both judgment and also mercy.
10:12Judgment on those who refuse to repent
10:14and who go along with the opposition and the antichrist ways.
10:18Mercy to those who repent and believe the gospel
10:21and find salvation.
10:24And also, he's going to keep those people who believe in him.
10:27Another lesson which you have from the story of the ark
10:29is that not only did Noah prepare the ark
10:32and he got into it safely,
10:34but God kept him while he was in the ark
10:36with all the animals.
10:37The boat didn't sink.
10:40The boat stood and ended up landing on the mountain
10:45and they came out safely.
10:48So, we see that God was in control.
10:52And it's interesting also,
10:53if you go back to the first chapter of Genesis,
10:55it appears that God had already prepared
10:57the means by which he was going to bring in the flood.
10:59In creation, we're told that God prepared vast water resources
11:04in the atmosphere and beneath the earth.
11:09Genesis chapter 1, verse 5, it says,
11:12Then God said,
11:13Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters.
11:15Let it divide the waters from the waters.
11:18And God made the firmament and divided the waters
11:20which were under the firmament
11:21from the waters which were above the firmament.
11:23And it was so.
11:25God called the firmament heaven,
11:27so the evening and the morning were the second day.
11:30And God said,
11:30Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together
11:32into one place and let the dry land appear.
11:35And it was so.
11:36God called the dry land earth,
11:37and gathering together of the waters,
11:39he called seas.
11:40And God saw that it was good.
11:43If you follow that through carefully,
11:44it seems that there were actually three areas
11:46in which God saw water.
11:47There was the waters above the heavens,
11:49above the firmament.
11:52And when he speaks about the waters in the heavens,
11:53it uses the Hebrew word shamayim.
11:56Shamayim can mean actually heaven where God dwells,
11:58but it can also mean the heavens,
12:00the universe,
12:02what we see in the sky above us.
12:04So there was waters above,
12:07there was waters beneath, below,
12:09and the waters were gathered together into the seas.
12:14So when you come to the actual flood,
12:16you find out in chapter 7,
12:19it says it came to pass,
12:21chapter 7, verse 10,
12:23in Genesis, it said,
12:24It came to pass after seven days
12:25that the waters of the flood were on the earth.
12:28In the 600 year of Noah's life,
12:30in the second month,
12:31the 17th day of the month,
12:33on that day,
12:34all the fountains of the great deep were broken up,
12:36and the windows of heaven were opened,
12:38and the rain was on the earth
12:40forty days and forty nights.
12:43It was more than just a lot of rain.
12:45It says that the fountains of the great deep were opened up,
12:51so something underneath was opened up,
12:53and the windows of heaven were opened.
12:56So a great deluge came from above and from underneath.
13:01You can see there's some connection there
13:02with what we read in Genesis.
13:05There was water above,
13:06there was water below.
13:07More than a lot of rain.
13:09And when this flood came,
13:12it changed the conditions on the earth.
13:14Now, there have been various people
13:15who tried to work out what happened.
13:19The book was written called
13:20The Genesis Flood
13:20by a man called John Whitcomb,
13:22which I read,
13:22which is actually quite interesting.
13:24But what he said was that
13:25there was this very large canopy of water
13:28above the earth,
13:29much thicker than the atmosphere
13:30which we have today.
13:31Because that canopy of water
13:33was above the earth,
13:34it made change conditions on the earth.
13:37For example,
13:38it made the temperature on the earth
13:40uniform,
13:42mild warm temperature
13:43all over the earth.
13:45Which is kind of interesting
13:46because they've actually discovered
13:48tropical plants,
13:50fossils,
13:51up in the area
13:52near the North Pole.
13:55And there are evidence
13:56that at one time
13:56the temperature on the earth
13:57was much warmer
13:58and much more uniform.
14:00Which actually comes out
14:01in the passage after the flood.
14:03Also,
14:04because of this
14:04enlarged water canopy
14:06it would have screened out
14:07some of the harmful rays
14:08of the sun
14:09so that it would have been
14:11the conditions on the earth
14:12would have been much better
14:13for people,
14:13they'd have been much more healthy,
14:15it would have created
14:16much more luxuriant
14:17growth on the earth.
14:20So there would have been
14:21much better conditions
14:22for living in.
14:23Which explains also
14:24why people lived
14:25so much longer
14:26before the flood.
14:28Once that canopy had gone
14:29it made a change
14:30to the conditions
14:31on the earth.
14:32Also meant that
14:33there was going to be
14:33heat and cold afterwards.
14:35Summer and winter.
14:36Which is what it says
14:37in Genesis chapter 9.
14:39So something changed
14:40when the flood came
14:41and this water came
14:42from above,
14:43it came from below.
14:46Water's below,
14:47that's kind of interesting
14:48as well.
14:50Text implies
14:51that there was water
14:51brought up from below
14:52the earth.
14:54One of the interesting things
14:55which I read about,
14:57scientists have discovered
14:58recently that there is
14:59a vast amount of water
15:01actually under the earth.
15:03I don't know if you know that.
15:04It's not in the seas,
15:05it's underneath.
15:07In fact,
15:07one report I read
15:08said that there is
15:09three times as much water
15:10under the earth
15:12as there is on the earth.
15:14Which is a vast amount
15:15of water.
15:16Somewhere between here
15:17and the core of the earth
15:18there is a vast reserve
15:19of water
15:19or of some kind of liquid.
15:20don't take my word for it.
15:25You can look it up
15:26on the internet
15:27and you can find
15:28the article saying
15:28about water
15:30under the earth.
15:33So if that was the case,
15:33some of this water
15:34may have come up
15:35from under the earth
15:36and deluge the earth.
15:38It was much more
15:38than a lot of rain.
15:40Now according to many people,
15:41if there was to be
15:42a kind of,
15:44God wanted to flood
15:45the earth again,
15:45he couldn't do it
15:46because the water
15:47in the atmosphere
15:48is not there anymore.
15:49I guess he could bring up
15:50the water from underneath,
15:51I don't know.
15:52But the water above
15:53is not enough
15:54to flood the earth.
15:55It could not possibly happen.
15:56If there was a change
15:57before the flood,
15:58it could have happened.
16:00And we read in this text
16:01that it caused
16:02the end of all life.
16:03It went over the tops
16:04of the mountains.
16:06So it's very clear
16:07in the scripture
16:08it was not just
16:08a local flood.
16:09It was a universal flood
16:11that went right
16:11over the earth
16:12and affected the whole world.
16:15It went over the mountains.
16:17Now some people
16:17have a problem with that
16:18because they say
16:18Mount Everest
16:19is 29,000 feet high
16:20if you couldn't possibly
16:21have 29,000 feet of water.
16:24But we're going to see
16:25in a moment
16:25that it's likely
16:26that after the flood
16:27God actually changed
16:28also the geography
16:29of the earth
16:30and raised up
16:31the high mountains
16:32and the great deeps
16:33in the earth underneath.
16:35So the high hills
16:36could have been much lower
16:37at that time.
16:39So it happened.
16:40It really happened.
16:41And I want to tell you
16:42that this is not
16:42a fantasy story.
16:43It's not a sort of story
16:44for children
16:45and it's not a fantasy.
16:46This is described
16:48in the Bible
16:48as an event
16:49which took place
16:50and there are many
16:50people who've studied
16:52the subject
16:52much more deeply
16:53than I have
16:53who've come up
16:54with evidence
16:55that there really
16:56has been a great flood
16:57on the earth
16:58a worldwide flood.
17:01And it caused
17:02the end of life
17:03and it crushed
17:04the animals
17:05crushed the vegetation
17:06and in so doing
17:08it also created
17:08the fossils
17:09created deposits
17:10of coal
17:11and gas
17:12and oil
17:13which are
17:13beneath the surface
17:15and which
17:16we're using today
17:17for powering
17:18our world system.
17:20Kind of interesting
17:21because our world system
17:22is heading for destruction
17:23and maybe the things
17:24which were destroyed
17:24in the flood
17:25actually are helping
17:26bring us towards that.
17:28It's another story.
17:29What I want to say
17:30is that God was in control.
17:31He was in control
17:32in a very spectacular way.
17:35And also that God
17:36does this at a time
17:37when he's changing
17:38something on the earth.
17:39And you see
17:40throughout the Bible
17:42there are certain times
17:43when God moves
17:44in very powerful ways
17:46in what we would call
17:47changes of the dispensation.
17:49So something happens
17:50which changes the world
17:51and God brings in
17:52supernatural events
17:53which don't happen
17:54all the time.
17:56The flood's one of them.
17:57The Exodus
17:57is another one of them.
17:59The ministry of Jesus
18:00of course is one of them.
18:01And the second coming of Christ
18:02is also going to be one of them.
18:04When Jesus comes again
18:05God is going to intervene
18:06in a spectacular way
18:08which will change
18:08totally the condition
18:09of the nations on the earth.
18:11And God doesn't do that
18:12all that time
18:13because if he did that
18:13all the time
18:14then we wouldn't be able
18:15to cope with it.
18:16God does intervene
18:17in our lives
18:19through prayer
18:19and all that kind of things
18:21but God doesn't do
18:22these major things
18:23except at times
18:24when he's changing
18:24the dispensation
18:25which is what happened
18:27at the time of Noah.
18:29And in this account of Noah
18:31we see that God
18:31preserved his remnant.
18:33He preserved a group
18:33of people who were going
18:34to carry on his time
18:36and he caused the ark
18:37to be built
18:38before the flood came
18:39even prophesied
18:41it was going to come.
18:43He said last time
18:43that Enoch was a
18:45great-grandfather of Noah.
18:49He had a son
18:50whom he called
18:51Methuselah
18:51and Methuselah lived
18:54according to the Bible
18:54for 969 years.
18:58His name
18:58Met Ushalach
18:59means when he has died
19:00it shall be sent.
19:02You can work out
19:03from the dates given
19:04in Genesis chapter 5
19:05that Methuselah lived
19:07until the year of the flood
19:08and he died
19:09just before the flood came.
19:12So Enoch gave him
19:12a name which was prophetic
19:13which meant that God
19:15warned it was going to happen.
19:17And maybe that's why
19:17he was the oldest man
19:18who ever lived
19:19because God was giving time
19:20for people to repent
19:21and they didn't repent
19:21so the time came.
19:24It's the end.
19:27Okay, so God selected
19:28those who are going
19:29to be saved.
19:30It's a period of what we call
19:31grace before judgment
19:32and you see in the Bible
19:33that wherever there's judgment
19:34coming there's always
19:35a time when God
19:35moves in grace
19:37to bring people
19:38the opportunity
19:38to repent
19:39and believe
19:40and be saved.
19:44He caused the animals
19:45to go in
19:45he preserved them
19:46while they were inside.
19:48Perhaps they were
19:48hibernating
19:49but they didn't
19:50eat each other
19:51and he fed them.
19:53Some people have said
19:54well you couldn't
19:55possibly put all the animals
19:56into an ark that size.
19:59Didn't have to take
20:00all the kinds of animals in.
20:02He could just take
20:03one of each species
20:04of each kind.
20:06Didn't have to take
20:07all the breeds.
20:10So he didn't have to take
20:11an Alsatian and a poodle.
20:13He could just take
20:14two of the dog kind.
20:16Same with cats
20:17and all the other
20:18kind of creatures.
20:19And they worked out
20:20that in an ark
20:21that size
20:22you could easily have
20:22fitted in
20:23all the kinds of animals
20:24which were there.
20:26Didn't have to take
20:27the big elephants.
20:28He could have taken
20:28a small elephant.
20:29And they could have
20:30grown and then reproduced
20:31and had their
20:32baby elephants
20:33after they went
20:34out of the ark.
20:36And of course
20:36he took a male
20:37and a female
20:38so that they could
20:38reproduce
20:39and God provided
20:40for them
20:41while they were
20:41in the ark.
20:43And he kept
20:44the ark afloat
20:44in the storm
20:46and he guided it
20:48to the safe place.
20:50And now you can see
20:51that the ark
20:51was like
20:52the true church
20:53of Jesus Christ.
20:54We trust in the Lord
20:57to save us.
20:58We go into
20:58the body of Messiah
20:59through salvation
21:00through faith in Jesus.
21:02And God keeps us
21:04until the day
21:04when he's going
21:06to take us
21:06to our eternal
21:08resting place.
21:09He's going to provide
21:10for all our needs
21:10in Jesus the Messiah.
21:13So let's have a look
21:14at Genesis chapter 8
21:15which shows how God
21:16remembered Noah
21:17and a few lessons
21:18we can learn from that.
21:20So if you want to
21:20turn to Genesis 8
21:21we'll put it up
21:23on the board.
21:24Verse 1
21:25So they're now
21:27in the ark
21:28the flood has come
21:29and we're coming
21:31to the end
21:31of the time
21:32when they are
21:33in the ark.
21:35Then God remembered
21:35Noah and every living thing
21:37and all the animals
21:38that were with him
21:38in the ark
21:39and God made a wind
21:40to pass over the earth
21:41and the waters subsided.
21:43The fountains of the deep
21:44and the windows of heaven
21:45were also stopped
21:46and the rain from heaven
21:48was restrained
21:48and the waters receded
21:50continually from the earth.
21:52At the end of the
21:52hundred and fifty days
21:53the waters decreased
21:54then the ark rested
21:56in the seventh month
21:58in the seventeenth day
21:59of the month
22:00on the mountains
22:01of Ararat
22:01and the waters decreased
22:03continually until
22:04the tenth month
22:05and in the tenth month
22:06on the first day
22:07of the month
22:07the tops of the mountains
22:08were seen.
22:10So it came to pass
22:11at the end of forty days
22:12that Noah opened
22:13the window of the ark
22:14which he had made
22:15then he sent out
22:16a raven
22:16which kept going
22:17to and fro
22:18until the waters
22:19had dried up
22:20from the earth
22:20he also sent out
22:22from himself
22:23a dove
22:23to see if the waters
22:24had receded
22:25from the face
22:25of the ground
22:26but the dove
22:28found no resting place
22:29for the sole of her foot
22:30and she returned
22:31into the ark
22:32to him
22:33for the waters
22:34were on the face
22:34of the whole earth
22:35so he put out
22:36his hand
22:37and took her
22:37and drew her
22:38into the ark
22:39to himself
22:40and he waited
22:41yet another seven days
22:42and again he sent
22:43the dove out
22:44from the ark
22:44then the dove
22:45came to him
22:46in the evening
22:47and behold
22:47a freshly plucked
22:48olive leaf
22:49was in her mouth
22:50and Noah knew
22:51that the waters
22:51had receded
22:52from the earth
22:53so he waited
22:54to yet another
22:55seven days
22:56and sent out
22:56the dove
22:57which should not
22:57return again
22:58to him anymore
22:59and it came to pass
23:01in the six hundredth
23:02and first year
23:03in the first month
23:04in the first day
23:05of the month
23:05that the waters
23:06were dried up
23:06from the earth
23:07and Noah removed
23:08the covering
23:08of the ark
23:09and looked
23:09and indeed
23:10the surface
23:11of the ground
23:11was dry
23:12and in the second month
23:13on the twenty-seventh
23:14day of the month
23:15the earth was dried
23:16then God spoke
23:19to Noah
23:19saying go out
23:20of the ark
23:20you and your wife
23:21and your sons
23:22and your daughters
23:22and your sons' wives
23:24with you
23:24bring out with you
23:25every living thing
23:26of all the flesh
23:27that is with you
23:29birds and cattle
23:31every creeping thing
23:32that creeps on the earth
23:33so that they may abound
23:34on the earth
23:35and be fruitful
23:35and multiply
23:36on the earth
23:37so Noah went out
23:40and his sons
23:41and his wife
23:42and his sons' wives
23:42with them
23:43every animal
23:44every creeping thing
23:45every bird
23:46and whatever
23:46creeps on the earth
23:47according to their families
23:49went out of the ark
23:50so you can see here
23:53God did a tremendous miracle
23:54not only did he get them
23:56into the ark
23:57not only did he keep them afloat
23:58but he preserved their lives
23:59while they were in the ark
24:00and he got to the point
24:02where they were
24:02able to come out of the ark
24:04and start again
24:04and you can see
24:06that that is part
24:07of the work of salvation
24:08we get saved
24:09we go into the fellowship
24:11with the Lord
24:12then God keeps us
24:13in that place
24:14and he prepares us
24:15until we get to the place
24:17where we come
24:17to eternal salvation
24:19in Jesus the Messiah
24:20interestingly he sends
24:23the raven and the dove
24:24out to look for signs
24:25of life
24:26thought that might be
24:27a bit like the evangelist
24:28sending the evangelist
24:29out into the world
24:31to seek for signs of life
24:32and to bring them
24:33into the fellowship
24:34and God wants us
24:36also to be those
24:36who go out
24:37of the place of safety
24:38into the world
24:39to bring a message
24:41of salvation
24:41and to bring people in
24:42and God wants us
24:44to be an evangelistic people
24:46who are looking
24:47for the lost
24:48to bring them in
24:48and to bring them
24:50a message of hope
24:51in Jesus the Messiah
24:52and we can all be evangelists
24:55for the Lord
24:55you don't have to be trained
24:56to be it
24:56you just have to believe
24:57in Jesus
24:58and have a tongue
24:59and have a ability
25:01to just share
25:02some basic talk
25:03about Jesus
25:03you can take some
25:05of our leaflets
25:05give them out
25:06talk to people
25:07and just even invite them
25:08to the fellowship here
25:09just before the church
25:11I stood on the street there
25:12and just talked
25:13to a couple of people
25:13walking by
25:14and said
25:14do you want to come
25:14into our fellowship
25:15and had some nice
25:17conversations with them
25:17friendly
25:18I said yes
25:19thought about it
25:20and they went away
25:21haven't come in
25:22but maybe they will one day
25:23we can all do
25:24the work of an evangelist
25:26God wants us to go
25:27out of the place of safety
25:28into the world
25:29and to look for those
25:30who are lost
25:31to bring them in
25:31so that they can find
25:32salvation in Jesus
25:34the Messiah
25:35and God provided
25:37the mountain for them
25:38to land on
25:38and remove the floodwaters
25:39from the earth
25:40that was also
25:42kind of a miracle
25:43and it made it
25:45so they can
25:45make a new start
25:47and you can see
25:49there's a parallel here
25:49that we face
25:50uncertain days
25:51but we can trust
25:53in God
25:53to provide for us
25:54what we need
25:55and the ark
25:57of our salvation
25:58was custom made
25:59to withstand
26:00the storms of life
26:01to guide us
26:03into the safe haven
26:03of eternity
26:04with the Lord Jesus
26:06and the Lord says
26:08we pray in the Lord's prayer
26:10give us this day
26:11our daily bread
26:11and we know
26:13there are many people
26:13actually who don't
26:14get their daily bread
26:15and the people
26:15who are suffering
26:16in the world
26:16but God's going to
26:18provide for his people
26:19and to keep us alive
26:20until the day
26:21that he takes us
26:22to be with him
26:23so the ark
26:26is a picture
26:26if you like
26:27of our salvation
26:28and it's a picture
26:30of our life
26:31of our salvation
26:31in the midst
26:32of a storm
26:33and a flood
26:34so they were
26:35in very difficult
26:36circumstances
26:36and God kept them
26:37so even if you're
26:39going through
26:39difficult circumstances
26:40you can call on
26:41the name of the Lord
26:42and he's going to
26:42keep you
26:43through those circumstances
26:44and bring you
26:45to the desired haven
26:46and guide us
26:50to our intended
26:52haven
26:52which is
26:53in the eternal
26:54presence of the Lord
26:56and when Noah
26:58came out of the ark
26:58the first thing
27:00he did was
27:00to make a sacrifice
27:01okay
27:03then Noah
27:04built an altar
27:05to the Lord
27:05and took of
27:06every clean animal
27:07and of every clean bird
27:08and offered burnt offerings
27:10on the altar
27:10and the Lord
27:12smelled a smoothing aroma
27:13then the Lord
27:14said in his heart
27:14I will never again
27:15curse the ground
27:16for man's sake
27:16although the imagination
27:18of man's heart
27:19is evil from his youth
27:20nor will I again
27:21destroy every living thing
27:23as I have done
27:23while the earth remains
27:25seed time and harvest
27:26cold and heat
27:27winter and summer
27:28and day and night
27:29shall not cease
27:30so the first thing
27:32he did was to offer
27:32a sacrifice
27:33he'd only taken
27:35two of the
27:36most of the animals
27:38but he said
27:39he did take
27:39he took seven
27:40of the clean animals
27:42so he'd offered
27:43the animals
27:45he only had two of
27:46that would have been
27:46the end of them
27:47but he did have
27:49clean animals
27:49presumably sheep
27:50and others
27:51which he could offer
27:52as a sacrifice
27:53so again
27:55he was provided
27:55with the sacrifice
27:56and he offered
27:58the sacrifice
27:58would involve
27:59the shedding of blood
28:00so throughout the Bible
28:03you have the offering
28:04of the blood
28:05of innocent animal
28:06to atone for sin
28:07and in that
28:11atoning sacrifice
28:12it is taking the price
28:14of the sin
28:15of the people
28:16and it's providing
28:17atonement for those
28:18who believe
28:18and come under
28:19the covering
28:20of that blood
28:21and we know
28:24throughout the Bible
28:24everything requires
28:26the sacrifice
28:27the shedding of blood
28:28until the coming
28:30of Jesus
28:30and Jesus is the
28:32final sacrifice
28:32so as we come
28:34before the Lord
28:36we come under
28:38the blood of Jesus
28:39and so we need
28:41to come under
28:42the sacrifice
28:43which God has made
28:44through Jesus
28:45the Messiah
28:45and so we come
28:48into the covenant
28:49and the next thing
28:50which we see
28:51in Genesis 9
28:53verse 12
28:53is it says
28:54God says
28:55this is the sign
28:56of the covenant
28:56which I make
28:57between me and you
28:58and every living thing
28:59which is in you
28:59for perpetual generations
29:01I've set my rainbow
29:03in the cloud
29:04and it shall be
29:04for a sign
29:05of the covenant
29:06between me
29:07and the earth
29:07it shall be
29:08when I bring a cloud
29:09over the earth
29:10that the rainbow
29:10shall be seen
29:11in the cloud
29:11I will remember
29:12my covenant
29:13which is between
29:14me and you
29:14and every living creature
29:16of all flesh
29:16the water
29:17shall never again
29:18become a flood
29:19to destroy all flesh
29:20the rainbow
29:21shall be in the cloud
29:22and I will look on it
29:23to remember
29:24the everlasting covenant
29:25between God
29:25and every living creature
29:27of all flesh
29:28that is on the earth
29:29so you have a sacrifice
29:31then you have a covenant
29:32same thing happens
29:34in the Messiah
29:35we have a sacrifice
29:36of the Messiah
29:37which brings us
29:38under the new covenant
29:39in which we are
29:40saved from God's wrath
29:42and come into
29:43God's presence
29:45the next thing
29:47which happens
29:47is that God
29:48gives Noah directions
29:49for living in the new
29:50post-world world
29:51post-flood world
29:52he says
29:54every moving thing
29:55that lives
29:55shall be food for you
29:56I have given you
29:57all things
29:57even as the green herbs
29:59but you shall not eat
30:00flesh with its life
30:01that is its blood
30:02surely for your life blood
30:04I will demand
30:05a reckoning
30:06from the hand
30:06of every beast
30:07I will require it
30:08from the hand of man
30:09from the hand
30:10of every man's brother
30:11I will require
30:12the life of man
30:12whoever sheds man's blood
30:14by man
30:15his blood shall be shed
30:16for the image of God
30:18he made him
30:19and as for you
30:20be fruitful and multiply
30:21bring forth abundantly
30:23in the earth
30:23and multiply upon it
30:25okay so God gives
30:27first of all
30:28the sacrifice
30:30then you have the covenant
30:31then God gives
30:33some instructions
30:33on how Noah is to live
30:35in the new world
30:36which he's living in
30:37there are a few things
30:38which if you
30:39believe the Bible
30:41literally
30:41are kind of interesting
30:43first of all
30:45he's already said
30:45there's going to be
30:46cold and heat
30:46winter and summer
30:47in the previous verses
30:49we looked at
30:50that means there's going
30:51to be a change
30:52in the environment
30:53because if you take
30:54this image I gave you
30:55of the water covering
30:57before the flood
30:57then the environment
30:59on the earth
30:59was going to be
31:00much more productive
31:01much more luxuriant
31:02and there was not
31:03going to be differences
31:04between cold and heat
31:05winter and summer
31:06those would come
31:07after the flood
31:08and this is the first
31:09mention you have
31:10of cold and heat
31:10winter and summer
31:11and God says
31:13that this is going
31:14to continue right
31:15through this age
31:17this dispensation
31:17God is going to
31:19provide the harvest
31:20the food which you
31:21need and that
31:23will not cease
31:24he also says that
31:27you're able to eat
31:30the flesh
31:30you're able to eat
31:31and the word flesh
31:32there is bazar
31:33which is also the
31:34ordinary Hebrew word
31:35for meat
31:35implication of the
31:38previous passages
31:40in Genesis
31:40is that God
31:41actually intended
31:42in the pre-flood
31:44world
31:44for humans
31:46and animals
31:46to be vegetarian
31:47and not to eat
31:51meat
31:51and it's only
31:52after the flood
31:53that you have
31:54the emphasis
31:55on eating meat
31:56and also animals
31:57eating each other
31:57also interesting
31:59if you look at
31:59the conditions
32:00after the return
32:01of Jesus
32:02it appears
32:02that we go back
32:03to some kind
32:04of vegetarianism
32:05so God
32:06recreates the earth
32:07now those are
32:09little details
32:09but I find them
32:10interesting because
32:11I believe the Bible
32:13is true
32:13and that what it
32:14says has happened
32:15and what it says
32:16is going to happen
32:17will happen
32:17also gives you
32:19a command about
32:20not shedding blood
32:21so not committing
32:22murder
32:22and it says that
32:24if a person
32:24does commit murder
32:25then by man
32:26his blood shall
32:27be shed
32:27so it actually
32:29brings in a law
32:30on what we might
32:31call capital punishment
32:32so there should be
32:34a punishment
32:34for those who
32:35take life
32:35that their life
32:36should be taken
32:37in its place
32:38now it's interesting
32:39that rabbis
32:40actually deduce
32:41from these commandments
32:42what they call
32:42the seven laws
32:43of Noah
32:44and one of the laws
32:45of Noah
32:45is that you should
32:47set up a government
32:48which is able
32:49to make these
32:49kind of decisions
32:50so there should be
32:52some kind of
32:52government structure
32:53which can then
32:54decide on issues
32:56like capital punishment
32:57so some have called
32:59this age
33:00the age of governance
33:01so God now
33:02says that you should
33:03set up a government
33:04and look after
33:05keeping these laws
33:07according to
33:07my commands
33:08and he also
33:11tells them then
33:11to bring forth
33:12to be fruitful
33:13and multiply
33:13bring forth abundantly
33:15on the earth
33:15and multiply in it
33:16in other words
33:18to have lots of
33:18children
33:19and grandchildren
33:20and great-grandchildren
33:21if you think about it
33:23every one of us
33:24here
33:25and in the world
33:26is actually descended
33:26from Shem
33:27Ham and Japheth
33:29from Noah's sons
33:31so they did pretty well
33:32didn't they
33:33and here we have
33:34all the different
33:35peoples in the world
33:36so
33:40let's go back
33:43what are the parallels
33:44I said that
33:45Jesus said it would be
33:46as in the days of Noah
33:47so it would be
33:47in the days
33:49before his second coming
33:50I've got here
33:52a whole lot of
33:53I won't go through
33:54all of them
33:55in great detail
33:55but just to mention them
33:57these I think
33:58are parallels
33:59between the time
34:00first of all
34:02God gives warning
34:03of a coming judgment
34:04as Noah is building
34:06the ark
34:06Noah is a preacher
34:07of righteousness
34:08and we too
34:10are to warn people
34:10of the coming judgment
34:11on the earth
34:12and that the only way
34:13of safety
34:13is actually in
34:14Jesus the Messiah
34:16in the ark
34:18there was one way in
34:19there was one way
34:19into the ark
34:20one door
34:21there's one way
34:22into salvation
34:23through Jesus the Messiah
34:24some of which
34:26is contested by people
34:27all over the world
34:28if you go and evangelize
34:29as I did on Friday
34:30you'll always find people
34:31as I did on Friday
34:32who will tell you
34:32that all the religions
34:34are the same
34:34it doesn't matter
34:35what you believe
34:36you can believe
34:37in any God
34:38and as long as
34:39you're sincere
34:39God will accept you
34:41the Bible doesn't say that
34:42God says there's only one way
34:44only one way
34:45because Jesus is the only one
34:46who died
34:46and rose again
34:48from the dead
34:48to give us salvation
34:50and deliverance
34:51from the power of evil
34:52and to give us salvation
34:55so Jesus is
34:57the one way
34:58one way into the ark
34:59one door
35:00also at the appointed time
35:02the door was shut
35:03it was too late
35:05to get in
35:05so there's a time coming
35:07when it'll be too late
35:08for people to get in
35:08that's why it's urgent
35:09that we get the message out now
35:10and tell people
35:11the way of salvation
35:12because there's a time coming
35:13when they'll be knocking
35:15on the door
35:15and the door will be shut
35:16and Jesus will say
35:17I never knew you
35:19depart from me
35:20hopefully all of us here
35:22do know the Lord
35:23so that when that day comes
35:25we can know
35:25that we will be open
35:26he will open the door
35:28into heaven for us
35:30okay the second point
35:33God provided for them
35:34in the ark
35:34he kept them safe
35:35from the flood
35:35and God has prepared
35:38an ark of salvation
35:39for us in Jesus the Messiah
35:41if we stay in the ark
35:43if we stay in fellowship
35:44with him
35:44he's going to protect us
35:45from the flood
35:46of the ungodly
35:47in the world
35:48flood of evil
35:49which is coming
35:49on the world today
35:50so we need to make sure
35:52we're in a place
35:53of safety
35:53in the ark of salvation
35:54in a living relationship
35:56with Jesus the Messiah
35:57as the head of the body
35:59which is the church
36:00it also mentioned
36:03Noah sending out
36:03the raven and the dove
36:04to look for signs of life
36:05and I just
36:06whether this is actually
36:08a real comparison
36:09but it just compared me
36:10with God
36:10wants to send out
36:11the evangelists
36:12into the world
36:13to bring people
36:14out of darkness
36:15into the light
36:16into faith in Jesus
36:17and as we've seen
36:20when the ark lands
36:21Noah makes a sacrifice
36:23which is pleasing to God
36:24prepares the shedding of blood
36:27with the death
36:28with the death of the animal
36:28sacrificed
36:29and God has made
36:33a sacrifice for us
36:34through which we can enter
36:35into the new covenant
36:37through Jesus the Messiah
36:38you look in Hebrews chapter 9
36:41and verse 11
36:43I'm not going to put this up
36:46so you have to read it
36:48in your Bibles
36:48if you want to
36:49but it says
36:50Hebrews 9 verse 11
36:52He is the mediator
37:11of the new covenant
37:12by means of death
37:13for the redemption
37:14of the transgressions
37:15under the first covenant
37:16that those who are called
37:18may receive the promise
37:19of eternal inheritance
37:20according to the law
37:22almost all things
37:23are purified with blood
37:24without the shedding of blood
37:25there is no remission
37:26and in verse 27
37:29as it is appointed
37:30for man to die once
37:31but after this the judgment
37:32so Christ was offered once
37:34to bear the sins of many
37:35to those who eagerly wait for him
37:37he will appear a second time
37:39apart from sin
37:40for salvation
37:41so there's one way
37:43we enter the ark
37:44there's one way of faith
37:45and that's through Jesus
37:46the Messiah
37:46who offered his blood
37:47as the final sacrifice
37:49for the sin of the world
37:50nobody's going to come after him
37:52to do anything
37:53in that way
37:54because he's completed the job
37:55on the cross
37:56and if we repent
37:58and believe in Jesus
37:58then we can be sure
38:00that we have
38:00eternal salvation
38:01and as it said here
38:03without the shedding of blood
38:05there is no remission of sins
38:07God requires
38:08a blood sacrifice
38:09Jesus made the blood sacrifice
38:11when he died on the cross
38:12and the new covenant
38:15begins with
38:16the Messiah's sacrifice
38:17for our sin
38:18also we saw
38:20that there is
38:20a covenant
38:21which God made
38:22he gave the rainbow sign
38:23I set my rainbow
38:26in the cloud
38:27it should be a sign
38:27for my covenant
38:28between me
38:29and the earth
38:30the rainbow
38:31should be in the cloud
38:32I would look
38:33on it to remember
38:34the everlasting covenant
38:35between God
38:36and every living creature
38:37of all flesh
38:38that is on the earth
38:39that covenant
38:41was a covenant
38:42that meant
38:43that God
38:43was not going to make
38:44a flood anymore
38:45to destroy the earth
38:46God has made
38:47a covenant
38:48with us
38:48of a different nature
38:50but is an eternal covenant
38:51to save us
38:53from spiritual death
38:54and to give us
38:55eternal life
38:56through Jesus the Messiah
38:57Jeremiah 31
39:00repeated in
39:01Hebrews chapter 10
39:02says that God
39:04is going to replace
39:04the former covenant
39:05which he made
39:06with Moses
39:06with a new covenant
39:08and according to
39:09the new covenant
39:10God is going to give
39:11certain
39:12benefits or privileges
39:14to the people
39:15to the people
39:15who come under it
39:16will come to know
39:17the Lord
39:17will have our sins
39:19forgiven
39:19and have his law
39:20written on our hearts
39:22by the Holy Spirit
39:22dwelling within us
39:24so if you come
39:25into the new covenant
39:26you come into
39:27the covenant
39:27which God has
39:28made for all humanity
39:30through which we can
39:31become children of God
39:33and know that
39:34we have a relationship
39:35with God
39:35and we are saved
39:36from God's wrath
39:37and from God's judgment
39:38so as we face
39:41uncertain days
39:41which we are facing
39:42what should we do
39:45we should trust
39:47in the Lord
39:47he's going to provide
39:49what we need
39:50the ark of our salvation
39:51is custom made
39:52to withstand
39:53the storms of life
39:54and to guide us
39:56into the safe haven
39:57of eternity
39:57with the Lord Jesus
39:59and the rainbow sign
40:02if you like
40:03is a type of the
40:05covenant
40:07which God has made
40:07with us now
40:08that we're under
40:09his grace
40:09and mercy
40:10and protection
40:11the offering
40:13of the animals
40:13is a sign
40:14of the atoning
40:14sacrifice
40:15of Jesus
40:15the Messiah
40:16to cover our sins
40:18and to give us
40:19a new start
40:19in life
40:20and the law
40:21of God
40:22and the Holy Spirit
40:23going to guide us
40:24into all truth
40:25as Noah received
40:27the new commandments
40:29for how to live
40:30in his day
40:31so we have received
40:32the Holy Spirit
40:33and the law
40:34of the Messiah
40:35which we read
40:35in the new covenant
40:36to guide us
40:37into the way
40:38that we should live
40:39so we can do
40:40all these things
40:41through the Messiah
40:41who strengthens us
40:43we can trust in the Lord
40:44to keep us
40:45to eternal life
40:46and we can believe
40:47that he is in control
40:48of the circumstances
40:49of our lives
40:50and the circumstances
40:51of this world
40:51he's going to bring us
40:53to the desired haven
40:54okay just a little bit
40:59of conclusion
40:59on some of the
41:00questions
41:01which may still be
41:02in your mind
41:02as we saw
41:04this is
41:06a real event
41:08said in the psalm
41:10the Lord sat enthroned
41:11in the flood
41:12the Lord sits
41:13as king forever
41:14the Lord sat enthroned
41:16in the flood
41:17means that the Lord
41:17was there
41:18when the flood happened
41:19which actually means
41:20that the flood happened
41:21it means that the Lord
41:23was in control
41:24and God was reigning
41:26at that time
41:26also means that God
41:29is reigning in our time
41:30you look around the world
41:32say you think
41:33it's all out of control
41:34you see all these
41:34evil governments
41:36all this chaos
41:38all this destruction
41:39and you might think
41:41well God has
41:42left us behind
41:43but God is still in control
41:45God is working
41:46his purposes out
41:47and God is going
41:48to have the last word
41:49and God's going
41:49to have the victory
41:50when Jesus comes back
41:51he's going to be
41:52totally in control
41:53says the government
41:54will be upon his shoulder
41:55the kingdoms of this world
41:57will become the kingdom
41:58of our God
41:58and of his Christ
41:59and he shall reign
42:00forever and ever
42:01so you can look
42:04at the present governments
42:05of the world
42:05you can see all the chaos
42:06going on
42:07you can feel fearful
42:08but Jesus says
42:09look to me
42:10look to my government
42:10look to my presence
42:13amongst you
42:13and know that I am
42:14going to have
42:15the last word
42:16and that I am in control
42:17of what's going on
42:17around you today
42:19and when you look
42:22at the flood
42:22actually God
42:23kept the people
42:24he kept them
42:24in the midst of the storm
42:25he brought them safely
42:27out of the ark
42:28and he enabled them
42:29to make a new start
42:30in the post-flood world
42:33he even controlled
42:35the waters
42:36after the flood
42:36some people ask
42:38where did the waters go
42:39Psalm 104
42:41is an interesting
42:42commentary on this
42:43Psalm 104
42:45verse 5
42:46it says
42:46you who laid
42:48the foundations
42:48of the earth
42:49so it should not
42:49be removed forever
42:50you covered it
42:52with the deep
42:52as with the garment
42:53the waters stood
42:54above the mountains
42:56at your rebuke
42:56they fled
42:57at the voice
42:58of your thunder
42:59they hastened away
43:00they went up
43:01over the mountains
43:02they went down
43:03into the valleys
43:03to the place
43:04which you founded
43:05for them
43:05you set a boundary
43:07that they may not
43:07pass over
43:08that they may not
43:09return to cover
43:10the earth
43:11that Psalm
43:12is both
43:14historical
43:15looking at what
43:16happened
43:17and it's also
43:18prophetic
43:18saying that
43:19there will not
43:19be another flood
43:20it says that
43:22the waters
43:23went over the hills
43:24and then they went
43:25down into the valleys
43:26and God was in
43:28control of all
43:29of that
43:29so where did
43:31the waters go
43:32and what happened
43:33did the world
43:34actually change
43:34not just
43:35through this flood
43:36but actually change
43:37topographically
43:39if you like
43:39after the flood
43:40and many people
43:42who studied this
43:42from a creationist
43:43point of view
43:44say yes it did
43:45first of all
43:46God raised up
43:47great mountain ranges
43:48and made great
43:50deeps in the oceans
43:51you have Mount Everest
43:5329,000 feet
43:54above sea level
43:55I suggest that
43:57the flood did not
43:58go over Mount Everest
44:0029,000 feet
44:01but Mount Everest
44:02arose and all the
44:03mountains and the
44:04Alps and all the
44:05places around
44:06arose when God
44:07actually changed
44:08the geography of
44:09the earth
44:10after the flood
44:11which is what
44:11that Psalm
44:12implies
44:13it also says
44:16that went down
44:17into the deeps
44:18if you go into
44:20the Pacific Ocean
44:21you have something
44:22called the Mariana
44:23Trench which is
44:24the deepest place
44:25on earth
44:25goes down
44:2736,000 feet
44:28below sea level
44:29the lowest point
44:30on the earth
44:31you have also
44:33in the Atlantic Ocean
44:34something called
44:35the Milwaukee Deep
44:36which is 27,500 feet
44:38below the surface
44:40so if this
44:42theory is correct
44:43then God
44:43not only made
44:44the mountains
44:45to rise up
44:45he also made
44:46the great deeps
44:47in the earth
44:48in the seas
44:49which caused
44:50the waters
44:51to flow down
44:51into them
44:52after the flood
44:53so he made
44:54a change
44:55in the geography
44:55of the earth
44:56God can do
44:58that because
44:58he's
44:59in control
45:01he sits as king
45:03enthroned
45:03over the flood
45:05and as the waters
45:07drained off the earth
45:08they left behind
45:09sedimentary rocks
45:11those are sedimentary
45:12rocks
45:12the first one
45:13which are rocks
45:14layered upon each other
45:15and people who've
45:17looked at this
45:17say that these rocks
45:18would have been
45:19deposited by
45:20floodwaters
45:21going past
45:22and depositing
45:23layer after layer
45:24of earth
45:26upon them
45:26and if you look
45:28into the sedimentary
45:29rocks on the earth
45:30you'll find that
45:31the sedimentary rocks
45:31are places
45:32where you find
45:33the fossils
45:33millions of them
45:37find fossils
45:38there's a fossil
45:39of a fish
45:40and if you look
45:41closely
45:41it's a large fish
45:42which is actually
45:43in the act of
45:44swallowing
45:44a small fish
45:45now you have to
45:48ask yourself
45:49how did that
45:50get formed
45:51if a creature
45:53dies naturally
45:54what happens
45:56to it
45:57either other animals
46:00come and eat it up
46:01or it just
46:01disintegrates
46:02it doesn't create
46:04doesn't go into
46:04being fossils
46:05yet you have
46:07hundreds of creatures
46:07which were
46:08fossilized
46:09and if this
46:10creature here
46:11was fossilized
46:11it was fossilized
46:12in a moment
46:13of time
46:13the moment
46:14it was eating
46:15that other fish
46:16and you have
46:18fossils of
46:19all kinds of
46:20creatures
46:20you have fossils
46:21of leaves
46:21you have fossils
46:23of jellyfish
46:23jellyfish are nearly
46:24all I think
46:2599% water
46:27so when a jellyfish
46:28dies it just
46:29the water
46:29seeps out
46:30and the body
46:31will disintegrate
46:32a leaf will just
46:33rot into the ground
46:34so anyway
46:36these fossils
46:36could have been
46:37created was if
46:37they were suddenly
46:38impacted by a
46:39huge deluge
46:40of water
46:41earth
46:42and crushed
46:44together
46:44in some
46:46event which
46:47was totally
46:48out of the
46:49ordinary
46:49so if
46:50creatures die
46:51normally
46:51they don't
46:52become fossils
46:52something must
46:54have happened
46:54to cause
46:55the fossils
46:55to come
46:56into being
46:56and creationists
46:58say that this
46:58was the flood
46:59this is evidence
46:59that there was
47:00a flood
47:00and you have
47:02these fossils
47:02all over the
47:02world
47:03also interestingly
47:04you have fossils
47:05of trees
47:05going between
47:06these different
47:07layers here
47:08and
47:09according to
47:11evolutionists
47:12these layers
47:12are millions
47:13of years
47:13apart
47:14but you have
47:14one tree
47:15going up
47:15between
47:15all these
47:17layers
47:17which suggests
47:18that the
47:18tree was
47:19actually
47:19fossilized
47:21at one time
47:22in these
47:23different layers
47:23which were
47:24laid down
47:24suddenly
47:25also explains
47:27why you have
47:27the huge
47:28deposits of coal
47:29oil and gas
47:30crushed animals
47:31created the
47:32fossil fuels
47:33and they call
47:33them fossil fuels
47:34don't they
47:34now
47:36now if
47:36you know
47:38trees and
47:39stuff die
47:39naturally
47:40they don't
47:41form into
47:41coal
47:42or oil
47:43or gas
47:44but if
47:45they're
47:45suddenly
47:45crushed
47:45together
47:46that could
47:46be how
47:47you have
47:47the formation
47:48of fossil
47:48fuels
47:49so if the
47:50fossil fuels
47:51were actually
47:51created by
47:51the flood
47:52interesting
47:53now we
47:54use them
47:54and now
47:55we're afraid
47:56that we're
47:56actually
47:56destroying
47:57the earth
47:57using these
47:57fossil fuels
47:58whether that
47:59is significant
48:00I don't know
48:01but it's
48:01kind of
48:02interesting
48:02so you've
48:04got evidence
48:05that there
48:05was this
48:06deluge
48:06and there's
48:07plenty of
48:08it and
48:09it can't
48:09be explained
48:09really any
48:10other way
48:11except that
48:11the deluge
48:12actually
48:13happened
48:13also it
48:16left behind
48:16people who
48:17would descend
48:17from Noah
48:18and go out
48:19and repopulate
48:20the earth
48:20from whom
48:21we all
48:22descended
48:22they would
48:24migrate to
48:24different parts
48:25of the earth
48:25become different
48:26tribes with
48:27different skin
48:27colours
48:28different languages
48:29but all part
48:31of the one
48:31human race
48:32but according
48:34to Genesis 11
48:34they were
48:34scattered after
48:35the Tower
48:36of Babel
48:36when God
48:37changed the
48:37languages
48:37all part of
48:40one human
48:40race but
48:41different in
48:42their appearance
48:43difference in
48:43their languages
48:44but all
48:46marred by the
48:47same problem
48:47of sin
48:48and all to
48:49be saved by
48:50one saviour
48:50Jesus the
48:51Messiah
48:52what's
48:53interesting is
48:54as they
48:54parted they
48:55would have
48:55taken with
48:55them stories
48:57of what
48:57happened before
48:58the flood
48:59and you find
49:01that in
49:01different cultures
49:02all over
49:02the earth
49:02you have
49:03the same
49:03not the same
49:04stories but
49:05you have
49:05stories of
49:06something like
49:07the flood
49:07of God
49:09or the gods
49:10being angry
49:10and sending
49:11this disaster
49:12and a good
49:13man going
49:14into a boat
49:14and saving
49:15some people
49:16it reappears
49:17all over the
49:17place
49:18in different
49:19cultures from
49:19Scandinavia to
49:20the primitive
49:21cultures of
49:22far east
49:24and different
49:24places
49:25so that
49:27suggests that
49:27all these
49:28people would
49:28have carried
49:28this memory
49:29and repeated
49:30it and they
49:32repeated it
49:32and said in
49:33different ways
49:33and the story
49:34changed but it
49:35would still
49:35basically have
49:35the same
49:36kind of
49:36elements
49:37you don't
49:39have any
49:39same thing
49:40happening in
49:40the period
49:41after Genesis
49:4311 after the
49:44Tower of Babel
49:45and the
49:45dispersion
49:46but you do
49:47have similarities
49:47in different
49:48cultures of
49:49the events
49:49which took
49:50place particularly
49:50the flood
49:51in different
49:52cultures
49:52which suggests
49:53to me that
49:54it happened
49:54and as the
49:56story was told
49:56so it was
49:57changed
49:57one interesting
49:59thing is the
49:59Chinese character
50:00for a boat
50:01I know we
50:03have one or
50:04two Chinese
50:04speakers here
50:05but correct me
50:07if I'm wrong
50:07but the Chinese
50:07character for a
50:08boat
50:08is a combination
50:12of characters
50:13meaning boat
50:13eight and
50:15person or mouth
50:16so someone
50:18said this
50:18is a boat
50:19with eight
50:20people on it
50:21and
50:22persons
50:25or a
50:25mouth
50:26so is that
50:27some connection
50:28with the story
50:28of Noah
50:29and the ark
50:30okay we can't
50:31be sure of this
50:32but these are
50:32little evidences
50:33that there is
50:34some kind of
50:34passing on of
50:36this story
50:36in different
50:37cultures all
50:38over the earth
50:38which if the
50:39Bible is true
50:40would have
50:40happened
50:41so as in the
50:44days of Noah
50:44so it would be
50:45in the time of
50:46Jesus
50:46let's just bring
50:48to an end
50:48this really
50:51happened
50:52and it is a
50:53parallel for
50:54our time
50:54our time
50:56is a time
50:57when we can
50:57see judgment
50:59coming upon
50:59the earth
51:00you don't have
51:02to read light
51:02for last days
51:03but I advise
51:05you to do so
51:05but you can
51:06just read the
51:07newspaper
51:07and you can
51:08read your Bible
51:09and you can
51:10see that things
51:10are coming
51:11together
51:11events in the
51:12Middle East
51:13the wars
51:14the troubles
51:14the famines
51:15the earthquakes
51:16the natural
51:17disasters
51:18all of these
51:19things are
51:19coalescing
51:20coming together
51:21teaching us
51:23that we're
51:23living in the
51:24last days
51:24and that Jesus
51:25is coming
51:25back soon
51:26there's going
51:26to be a
51:26time of
51:27big trouble
51:27on the
51:27earth
51:28there's going
51:29to be one
51:29way in which
51:29you can be
51:30saved from
51:30that time
51:30of trouble
51:31that's to
51:31go into
51:32the ark
51:33of salvation
51:33which is
51:35a personal
51:36relationship
51:36with God
51:37through Jesus
51:37the Messiah
51:38and when you
51:40come into
51:40the ark
51:40of salvation
51:41you should
51:42come into
51:43fellowship
51:43with others
51:44who have
51:44the same
51:44faith
51:45and you
51:46used your
51:46time
51:47to
51:47join the
51:49knowledge
51:50of Jesus
51:50and also
51:51to spread
51:51that message
51:52around the
51:52world
51:53and as we
51:56see these
51:56signs of
51:57coming
51:57Jesus
51:59coming
51:59we know
51:59that there
52:00is one
52:00way of
52:00salvation
52:01through
52:01Jesus
52:02and we
52:03come through
52:04one door
52:04to faith
52:06in Jesus
52:06which leads
52:08me to my
52:08last but one
52:09quotation
52:09from the
52:10book of
52:10John
52:10chapter 10
52:12and verse
52:17seven
52:17then
52:18Jesus
52:18said to
52:18them
52:19I am
52:20the door
52:20most
52:21assuredly
52:22I say
52:22to you
52:22I am
52:22the door
52:23of the
52:23sheep
52:23all
52:24whoever
52:25came
52:25before
52:25me
52:26are
52:26thieves
52:26and robbers
52:26but the
52:27sheep
52:27did not
52:27hear
52:28them
52:28I am
52:29the door
52:29if anyone
52:30enters
52:30by me
52:30he will
52:31be saved
52:31and will
52:32go in
52:32and out
52:32and find
52:33pasture
52:33the thief
52:34does not
52:35come
52:35except to
52:35steal
52:36and to
52:36kill
52:36and to
52:36destroy
52:37I've
52:38come
52:38that they
52:38may have
52:39life
52:39they may
52:39have
52:39it
52:40more
52:40abundantly
52:40I am
52:42the good
52:42shepherd
52:42the good
52:43shepherd
52:43gives his
52:43life
52:43for the
52:44sheep
52:44the
52:45harling
52:46who is
52:46not
52:46he was
52:47not
52:47the
52:47shepherd
52:47he
52:48does
52:48not
52:48own
52:48the
52:48sheep
52:49sees
52:49the wolf
52:49coming
52:50and leaves
52:50the sheep
52:51and frees
52:51and the wolf
52:52catches the
52:53sheep
52:53and scatters
52:54them
52:54the
52:55harling
52:55frees
52:55because he
52:56is a
52:56harling
52:56and does
52:56not
52:57care
52:57about
52:57the
52:57sheep
52:58I
52:58am
52:58the
52:59good
52:59shepherd
52:59and I
53:00know
53:00my
53:00sheep
53:00and I
53:01am
53:01known
53:01by
53:01my
53:01own
53:02as
53:03the
53:03father
53:04knows
53:04me
53:04even
53:04so
53:05I
53:05know
53:05the
53:05father
53:06and I
53:06lay
53:06down
53:07my
53:07life
53:07for
53:07the
53:07sheep
53:08and other
53:08sheep
53:09I
53:09have
53:09which
53:09are
53:09not
53:09of
53:09this
53:10fold
53:10them
53:10also
53:11I
53:11must
53:11bring
53:11they
53:12will
53:12hear
53:12my
53:12voice
53:13there
53:13will
53:13be
53:13one
53:13flock
53:14and
53:15one
53:15shepherd
53:15so
53:16Jesus
53:17says
53:17I'm
53:17the
53:17good
53:17shepherd
53:18I'm
53:18the
53:18door
53:19I'm
53:19the
53:19door
53:20to
53:20your
53:20eternal
53:20life
53:21what
53:22you
53:22have
53:22to
53:22do
53:22is
53:22to
53:22go
53:22through
53:23that
53:23door
53:23into
53:24the
53:24sheep
53:24fold
53:25and
53:25have
53:25Jesus
53:26as
53:26your
53:26saviour
53:26your
53:27shepherd
53:27and
53:28he's
53:28going
53:28to
53:28lead
53:28you
53:28to
53:29eternal
53:29life
53:29it's
53:32very
53:33simple
53:34it's
53:34also
53:35very
53:35difficult
53:35because
53:36there
53:36are
53:36all
53:37sorts
53:37of
53:37forces
53:37telling
53:37you
53:38not
53:38to
53:38do
