Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and the Indian delegation in New Delhi to discuss border peace, trade, and strengthening bilateral relations. Both sides emphasized maintaining peace and tranquillity along border areas, expanding cooperation in trade, connectivity, and people-to-people exchanges. Wang Yi highlighted the importance of India and China working as partners, not rivals, to provide stability and certainty to Asia and the world. The meeting comes ahead of PM Modi’s upcoming visit to China for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Summit.
