The discussion tonight looks at how literature and the arts may help to preserve culture, build national identity, and unite Filipinos across continents and islands. Books are more than just educational resources; they are stores of identity, memory, and creativity. They span generations and geographical boundaries, tell our tales, and embody our ideals.

Leading this mission is the National Book Development Board (NBDB), a government organization charged with fostering the Philippine publishing sector, promoting works written by Filipino authors, and creating a reading culture in the country.

As the 2025 Frankfurter Buchmesse, the oldest and biggest book market in the world, we are thrilled to have Charisse Aquino-Tugade, Executive Director of the NBDB and Co-Director of the Philippines' participation, join us as Guest of Honor.
