00:00Welcome back to the Tech Today Show. Now we kind of have taken the responsibility upon ourselves
00:18to inform our audience about the latest in tech and the one that's making buzz right now in the
00:24tech world is GPT-5. People are doing crazy things with it and we on the Tech Today Show have done
00:29something crazy and you will love it more about that on the show and the latest EV in the market
00:35the Hyundai Krita EV is with us on the show. We'll be giving you a tech check of the car and what it
00:41offers. This and a whole lot more tech on the Tech Today Show this week but before we kick off our
00:46big tech story a look at the top headlines of the week.
00:49In a surprising move, AI search startup Perplexity has reportedly offered to buy Google Chrome. The bid
01:01is said to be worth billions more than the company's total funding to date. While the offer is unlikely to
01:08go through, it has stirred conversations about Perplexity's growing ambition in the AI and search
01:14space. Perplexity has also challenged Google by introducing its own AI browser called Comet and
01:21also integrating with Apple devices.
01:29Rapido has officially stepped into the food delivery market with its new service only. The
01:35bike taxi platform will compete directly with Swiggy and Zomato promising faster deliveries and competitive
01:42pricing. The rollout begins in select cities with plans to expand nationwide in the coming months.
01:54Apple has pushed back against Elon Musk's allegations that the App Store is biased against his AI platform
02:01Grok. The company said its review process is consistent for all AI apps with no preferential treatment.
02:08Musk's claims had sparked a debate on App Store policies and transparency. He even had a tip with
02:15OpenAI CEO Sam Altman about Apple's preferential treatment for ChatGPT on Apple devices.
02:28Vivo has launched its new V60 smartphone in India, featuring a sleek design, upgraded camera
02:34system and the latest Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset. The phone comes with fast charging, an AMOLED display
02:41and improved AI-powered photography. Pricing starts at Rs.36,999 with sales beginning this week online and in retail stores.
02:51Elon Musk's AI chatbot Grok has rolled out its Imagine AI feature for free on Android devices. The tool lets users
03:05create AI-generated images directly in the chat. It supports prompts in texts and voices, offering a range of art
03:13styles. However, the feature spicy mode has drawn attention due to its ability to create explicit content.
03:21The iOS version is expected to follow soon.
03:24So, the AI world has gone crazy after the launch of ChatGPT 5. But here's the thing,
03:39what can ChatGPT 5 actually do and how is it really out of this world? Now, it can write your big scripts,
03:46it can even create these Ghibli images, but can it do something out of this world? Now, I have not written
03:53a line of code in my life, but today I'm going to do the impossible. I'm going to try to create
03:58a game using ChatGPT 5. Now, usually creating a game, even a basic one like Tetris takes about a
04:05week's coding if you don't have AI, but I'm going to do this in minutes. Is it possible? Let's try to find out.
04:13For context, ChatGPT 5 is the latest AI by OpenAI that started to be the fastest and most powerful AI by
04:22the company. It offers 40-45% better accuracy than GPT 4.0 and even 80% fewer factual errors.
04:32To create the game, all we need to do is explain what we want. This is the prompt I gave to create
04:38a simple 2D Tetris game. As a kid, this one one of my favorite games. And to discover that without
04:46learning to code, I could create a game on my own was nothing less than euphoric.
04:51Writing the code takes hardly a few minutes for ChatGPT. And the best part about this AI is that it
04:58automatically chooses the best model for the task you assign. Coding for the Tetris game finished under
05:065 minutes and ChatGPT allows you to run the code in the same window to test it out.
05:11And there you have it. A commerce without math student with no knowledge of coding language
05:17just created a game using AI. It even gave me instructions to play and as you can see,
05:24all controls, colors and the interface look perfect. At this point, I almost considered quitting my day
05:31job and becoming a game creator. The controls are simple. You use the arrow keys to move the pieces,
05:40bring them down. This is like a classic Tetris game that you used to play as a kid. I used to play as
05:44a kid, but AI actually works. I have created a 2D Tetris game using just a single prompt, no extra
05:54coding required. And as you can see under five minutes, which is incredible. And this takes any,
06:02I mean, say beginner coding level expert somewhere around a week to do that, but I have done it in just
06:08five minutes. And this is what AI can do to jobs. It can do to, you know, the basic coding level market.
06:15And this is the kind of, you know, revolution AI is bringing about. And it's just amazing and scary
06:22at the same time. But this was just to demonstrate the capabilities that GPT-5 has. It's not about
06:31making 2D games, but about discovering the next chapter in tech innovation, medicine and science.
06:39However, many internet users are asking what extra GPT-5 offers over the previous model. Is it really
06:46better? OpenAI says that in terms of reasoning, GPT-5 is sharper and image, text or video creation
06:55on the new AI is also faster. Also compared to 4.0, GPT-5 can remember up to 1 million tokens,
07:04which means it can remember an entire book and you can reference it for longer chats.
07:10Live conversations are also better and the AI reacts based on how you are using it.
07:16It's customizable and more user friendly. Though GPT-5 is here, people have raised concerns about
07:23its accuracy and we just wanted to find out how good it is compared to GPT-4. So,
07:28we're going to do a live demo. We're going to put two prompts in, one image creation and
07:32one simple program to run on both of these to find out whether 5 is really better than 4.0. So,
07:39let's try out the demo.
07:56So, contrary to popular belief that the 5 model is faster, here the proof is in the pudding. The 4.0
08:03model has been able to create the image and give me a render while 5 is still creating
08:09the image. So, in terms of image creation, clearly 5 is not that efficient.
08:16So, clearly GPT-4 has its advantages and OpenAI needs to fix these chinks before doing away with
08:24legacy models. But I was more curious about GPT-5, so I spoke to an AI expert about the new AI.
08:32As the AI guru, I impart a lot of wisdom on the audience in terms of whatever AI is going around
08:38the world. But even the AI guru needs a guru and I wanted to introduce you to him.
08:43Nilanjan Das was the Chief AI Officer here at India today and he's been using ChatGPT for a while now,
08:49haven't you? Yeah, from the very beginning. So, can you tell our audience what your experience has
08:55been like using GPT-5 and how is it different from the previous version? See, there are a lot of
09:01interesting things added in ChatGPT-5. It's a much more matured model, less hallucination. Also,
09:09I think the most important part is the custom instruction which we are all looking for. So,
09:14it customizes your need, your way of thing, it learns from you and it customizes all the information
09:19exactly the way you want. Do you feel that ChatGPT-5 right now, with the way it's performing,
09:25can actually eat into a lot of the entry-level jobs that coders and developers have?
09:30It's the first step and I'm looking at a thread because if you look at now ChatGPT, it's creating
09:35codes out of thin air even if you don't understand coding, if you don't understand anything. For instance,
09:40you are a flower seller or you're a flower seller. So, he wants to understand and he wants to create
09:47an app for his flower selling and he wants a simple form of design for it. ChatGPT is there,
09:53it will code for you. In my opinion now, you'll see within a year, we will see a lot of coders going
10:00away. Not the good coders, still the AI needs good coders but the general coders will go away and
10:06everybody will show off as they are also a coder. For content creators, people like us, people who
10:11engineer these graphics, what does it mean for them when AI can create it like this? So, there is
10:17still now, sorry, I started saying there is still now there are a lot of agencies which create video
10:25content, audio content. So, earlier it was like a team of 20 people, huge investment. Now, one guy sitting
10:34in some interior part of India, one computer, one internet line and understanding of a little bit
10:41of AI, he can become an agency. Look at the VFX companies, Moon Valley which is considered the
10:48biggest in Hollywood special effects and VFX service provider. They are now jumped into AI, they have a
10:57website, they have a AI which you anybody can use and create movies, unbelievable. And there are lots of
11:03cheap versions of VFX softwares also which creates movie like experience. We are looking at, for
11:11instance, I remember a year back the people used to budget 200 million, 300 million for us VFX, only for
11:16VFX. And I am not saying that level we are looking at, even if it is that done, even a 20% recreation of
11:25that 200 million is $40. Right. I think we are, we are looking at a tsunami. So, there you have it GPT-5, the next
11:33frontier in artificial intelligence. You can create games, create website, even create an application, everything
11:40under the sun can be done with this new AI. We will be experimenting more with it and learning more about it but if you run into any
11:46kind of a problem, do write to us and we will try to help you. Now, it's time for our next segment.
11:58If you are in the market looking to buy an electric vehicle, boy, do I have a surprise for you. Say hello
12:03to the Hyundai Creta EV. Now, we have already seen the Creta on the road, the ICE version and it draws a lot of
12:10the elements and aesthetics from the actual car but this one is tech loaded. So, on the Tech Today Show,
12:16we are doing a tech check of all the technologies inside this one and I am going to give you some
12:21extra bonuses of what you should consider before you find this one. So, let's go.
12:33First things first, yes, it looks like a Creta but squint a little and you will spot the pixel pattern
12:39grille, aero wheels and charging port with a state of charge indicator. But today, it's all about
12:46what's under the skin and inside the cabin that makes this thing a rolling tech travel companion.
12:52I think every electric vehicle should come with a big sunroof but that's not the feature I want to
12:57talk about. The feature I want to highlight in this section is called vehicle to load. Basically,
13:03if you are a camper or if you take long trips and if you carry heavy electronics with you,
13:08then you get a 3-pin AC to DC socket right here beneath the seat which is a fantastic feature. Now,
13:17you can charge basically any heavy electronics, could be a coffee maker, could be maybe even a laptop
13:24or a camera all through this and even if you want to charge electronics outside of the car, you can
13:30connect the 3-pin here and do it and I think most of the electric vehicles should have this feature.
13:36Hyundai debuted this in the Ioniq 5, Kia has it in the EV6 and BYD has it in the Atto 3 but now,
13:45it's in a mainstream SUV that a lot more Indians can buy and that is a big deal.
13:50The one good thing about the Creta EV is that it is also sort of a co-pilot that you have. Why I say
13:58this because this one comes with level 2 ADAS which means if there is a vehicle in front of you, this
14:04does give a warning system when you are about to collide. Not only that, it also comes with lane
14:09assist. So, all of the driving tech that you would want to keep your car safe and your driving experience
14:14to be good is in this car. Now, this is a new kind of technology which you are seeing on the Creta which
14:20is basically shift by wire. So, what happens, the gearbox has been removed from here which you
14:25usually see in ICE cars and there is a lot of area, a room I would say to store multiple items,
14:31you can keep your phone and anything heavy here. So, lot of space here.
14:36And here's the EV twist, it's linked to Hyundai's i-pedal regenerative braking.
14:41This means you can drive using just one pedal for most situations, press to go and lift off to slow.
14:47Even advanced cars like the Teslas come with this tech and once you get used to it, you'll never
14:54want to go back. Now, let's take a look at this central console and the area where most of the
15:01time will be spent by the driver and the passenger. Now, in the center you get this 10.25-inch
15:06touchscreen which you can use to navigate across the vehicle, you can also use it to connect your
15:12smartphone using Android Auto or Apple CarPlay and it's very intuitive and the touch is responsive,
15:17so you won't have any problems. Now, this one is the digital instrument cluster. You get all of
15:21the details about your trip, whether you are using generative braking or you're using your handbrake,
15:27everything is right over here.
15:33The fourth feature is pretty futuristic and here's where your phone becomes your car's key.
15:38The digital key system lets you lock, unlock and even start the car using your smartphone or your
15:43smartwatch. Share access with your family remotely, no physical key handover needed.
15:49You lose your phone, just disable access from Hyundai's app. While Tesla fans call this normal,
15:55for most SUV buyers in India, this is a taste of the future.
15:59It also comes with over 70 blue link connected features, Alexa integration for home to car commands
16:10and even voice enabled AC controls. Well, if I want to turn the AC off, I just need to press this button
16:18and say, turn the AC off. The air conditioner will be turned off. Do you want to turn off the climate
16:25controls as well? Uh, yes. Turning off all climate controls, including air conditioning.
16:48Alright, so that was a quick tech check of the Creta EV. What I really liked about this car is that there
16:55is a lot of minimalism that this car offers. I didn't have to learn a lot to understand the
17:01tech inside of the car and that is something that I'm sure a lot of the customers would definitely
17:05appreciate. What do you think about this car? Let us know and as far as minimalism is concerned,
17:12the basics, this one has covered it all.
17:19This segment is important for anyone who is concerned about their health tracking and fitness,
17:24because of which we have two gadgets on the show. Now, smartwatches, again, ubiquitous,
17:30they're everywhere in different price ranges, but however, there are certain that just stand out,
17:35right? You get the premium features, the premium experience and that's why we have on the show two
17:41smartwatches that have recently launched in the Indian market, the Watch 8 and the Watch 8 Classic,
17:46both by Samsung. We're going to be unboxing both of these on the show and tell you what they offer and
17:52whether you should buy these right now. So, first, let's unbox them.
18:06All right, so we have unboxed both of these devices and I must confess,
18:10the classic strap is not easy to get in. We had to use three people to latch this one on. So,
18:16again, just a fair warning, anyone who is buying this watch, the mechanism is a bit tricky to get
18:21on. So, what do these two devices offer in terms of health tracking, in terms of the functionalities?
18:27Let me give you a quick look in this next session.
18:32Let's start with the more premium and better looking Galaxy Watch 8 Classic. This is where
18:37heritage meets modern tech. And I loved that Samsung brought back the rotating bezels on this one,
18:43offering satisfying intuitive scrolling with a refined cushion design. These leather straps
18:49give the watch a premium look and I liked that. On the side, the new quick button offers rapid access
18:55to your favourite workouts. You can even quick launch any of these with a single tap. Under the hood,
19:01the classic boasts a 3nm processor backed by 64GB of storage. Performance is smooth and you get ample
19:07space for applications, music and files. The 3.4-inch display reaches up to 3000 nits of brightness,
19:15making it perfectly readable even under bright sunlight. It even comes powered by Google Gemini
19:21and you can speak naturally to your watch, all hands-free. Health tools like Energy Score analyze
19:28your recent sleep and activity to create a personalized daily wellness snapshot. Sleep tracking monitors your
19:35stages, heart rate and oxygen, elevating your nightly insights. It also comes with a running coach for
19:41personalized training plans based on your fitness level and it even has GPS. Built up with 5ATM water
19:49resistance, IP68 rating and military standard durability, the watch handles your active life
19:55with confidence. Connectivity includes Bluetooth, optional LTE, dual band Wi-Fi and even NFC.
20:02Now let's shift gears and check out its slimmer, more sportier sibling, the Galaxy Watch 8.
20:10This is Samsung's thinnest most comfortable watch yet with the same cushion design and 8.6mm thickness
20:17which is about 11% slimmer than the previous Watch 7. Its Super AMOLED display shines just as bright as
20:25the classic. Under the hood, it runs the same Exynos W1000 processor with 2GB of RAM and storage options up to
20:3264GB. Health tools on the watch have leveled up and it even has sleep coaching. Both watches have Wear OS 6
20:41paired with One UI 8, ensuring smooth navigation and deep Google integration. Charging on both takes more
20:48than an hour easily. So to sum it up, starting at Rs. 46,999, the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic blends heritage design
20:58with powerful tech and health centric AI features. While at Rs. 32,999, the Galaxy Watch 8 offers
21:07most of the classic features in a slimmer, more modern form. So which one is your style?
21:13With every episode, we are kind of moving closer to the next phase of technology. Right now, it's AI
21:21tomorrow. It could be completely different. We don't know yet. But again, we will be right here on
21:25the Tech Today Show getting you all of the updates from the tech world. Hopefully, you liked the show.
21:30If you have any suggestions for us, please write to us and we will be doing all of those segments and all
21:35the fun tech right here on the Tech Today Show. This is Cyrus signing off with a promise that I will be back
21:40next week. Take care, guys, and keep yourself updated with AI because it's coming for you. I'm just kidding.
