00:00The Lamar Jackson-Nikoli Jokic MVP cases and paths are quite similar, Joe.
00:08As somebody who thought Josh Allen deserved the league MVP last year,
00:12I got to tell you, every time I look at the Lamar numbers,
00:15I'm not sure I agree with myself.
00:1741 touchdowns, four picks, with 1,000 on the ground nearly.
00:22I mean, the thing is, I think the reason Lamar has moved so far ahead of this field,
00:28and tell me if you agree, is simply because of how close he came to winning it last year
00:34without actually winning it.
00:35Right, and when we talk about dominance, right,
00:37two years ago when they were number one seed in the AFC and they lose to Kansas City,
00:42you know, he had a dynamic season.
00:44But last year, everybody expected Baltimore to be that team,
00:48and they couldn't live up to expectations.
00:50Josh Allen and that team challenged the Kansas City Chiefs.
00:53You can make the argument that Lamar had much better numbers,
00:56but Josh Allen was the most valuable player for the Buffalo Bills last year,
01:02and that's why they made it to the championship game.
01:04And quite honestly, I think it was deserving.
01:07I think it was deserving over Lamar, and at the end of the day,
01:10they're both going to do battle this year, and we'll see how this plays out.
01:14I think one of the reasons, though, where I found myself,
01:18and I know this, leaning to Josh in season, this stuff is relevant.
01:22Lamar didn't deserve league MVP two seasons ago despite winning it,
01:25and I will maintain that for a long time.
01:28You can look at Lamar Jackson's other, you know, last season,
01:32his other MVP season.
01:33It's not the same caliber of year.
01:36So we have seen prior success in the market, Joe, have a negative impact.
01:43And I will start, you know, Burrow, Mahomes, Daniels,
01:47we'll get to all these guys.
01:49Josh Allen is a non-factor for me in this market.
01:54I don't see Josh Allen having, unless the Buffalo Bills are the number one seed
02:02by a good margin, I think it's going to be incredibly tough for Josh to win
02:06league MVP.
02:06And that's what we said about Lamar Jackson in terms of back-to-back years,
02:10right?
02:10You know, entering last year, you can make the argument, Joe Burrow at the start
02:14of the year, Pat Mahomes, and everybody was talking up Josh Allen.
02:18There's no shot for Lamar to win potentially back-to-back,
02:21and he was still in the running.
02:23I agree with you with Josh Allen.
02:24I mean, we talk about team success.
02:2611 and a half is the win total, right?
02:28Dominant favorites now to win the AFC East.
02:31I don't expect them to be challenged in any way, shape, or form.
02:35Can they be, though, a 14 or a 15-win football team?
02:39If they can, Kev, Josh Allen is going to be in the conversation.
02:43Now, they just re-signed James Cook to a long-term deal.
02:46That should help this team as it relates to the rushing attack.
02:49They're going to need to run the football to have success,
02:51but being a 14-win football team early on, I just don't see it.
