03:38one of google's biggest hardware pushes yet stay tuned as we will get you more from google's events soon
03:44the fact that my phone can actually do this it folds gives me exclusive bragging rights against all of
04:02those people who think that their iphones are cool well let me tell you guys as far as being uh top in the
04:08coolness meter is concerned this foldable phone is right up there but let me just try to gauge the
04:14sentiment of the junta if you really had the money for example 1.5 lakh rupees would you buy a foldable
04:21or an iphone they look good they feel good they have a high utility and uh iphones are in day overrated
04:28and overpriced fold phones are more novel you know it's something unique it's something fresh we still
04:32uh you know are not used to it and it's still so rare to see them uh around a person like me very
04:39clumsy often drop my phone so a foldable phone is not an option for me i usually use phone to watch
04:46netflix to watch movies and this phone will actually give me a better experience but if you ask me
04:53then i would rather skip it why because the value of the phones drop faster the battery life decreases
04:59and the repair costs are quite expensive i'll go for a macbook air and an iphone because for
05:04about 70 80 000 rupees you usually get a macbook air and for the rest of the money i can get the iphone
05:1016 so i think so two products for the price of 1.5 lakh rupees that's a more practical choice
05:22globally the foldable phone market is still relatively niche but it's steadily growing
05:29in 2024 global foldable device shipments reached approximately 20 million units and the number
05:39is still expected to increase to 30 million by the end of 2025 according to an idc report
05:46but in the grand scheme of smartphones where over 1.2 billion units are sold annually foldables are still
05:52less than three percent of the total market but again these phones aren't meant for all
05:59they serve a specific segment of users the multi-taskers the quick app switching ninjas and the binge watchers
06:08the galaxy z fold 7 the oneplus open and the vivo x fold 5 are some of the top foldable phones in india
06:16which offer these huge h inch displays that stretch out into mini tablets almost flagship level camera
06:23systems and the ability to use the phones as tripods batteries that have improved significantly
06:29many can now last a full day with ease and yes almost a futuristic split screen experience
06:37and your regular phones can't do this that's where foldables stand out but here's the big question
06:43are they practical for everyday use
06:49tell me honestly have you even tried texting using the foldable phone it's like typing on a bigger
06:55remote control almost like one of those handheld communicators the phones that you had back in the
07:002000s and all of these physical quality keyboards that you had earlier kind of are the same on these big
07:05screens now the inside yes there's a big screen glorious but unless you are constantly watching
07:12content on this editing spreadsheets and maybe in even running multiple applications side by side just
07:18not a regular slap phone but like multiple apps then i think it makes sense in fact during my time of
07:25using this phone i was mostly using the front display and just 20 percent of the time i was using the
07:31inside display when i was gaming and watching movies so yes for people who do a lot of the you know the
07:37outlandish stuff game movies and everything but then the bigger screen kind of makes sense
07:44and then there's the price the galaxy z fold 7 starts at 1.75 lakh rupees while both the oneplus open and
07:52the x4 5 start at 1.5 lakh rupees compare that to the iphone 16 pro or the samsung galaxy s25 ultra
08:00you're paying more but are you getting more now the biggest question here is the price to performance
08:07and the utility ratio here that's where things really get tricky when you talk about foldables
08:12yes i agree foldables look very cool they're versatile and give you exclusive bragging rights like
08:18i have right now but in terms of raw value like camera or battery or performance they're only just
08:24catching up to traditional flagships like maybe the iphone or the samsung's out there and that's where
08:30i think the foldables really need to evolve according to counterpoint research the indian market for
08:36foldables was just around 0.5 percent of the total smartphone shipments in 2024 foldable smartphone
08:43shipments in india fell 47 year on year according to idc counterpoint research reported a 12 decline in
08:512024 and a 36 drop in q1 2025 and this year we are seeing a little bit higher adoption but this category
09:01remains in niche for a master adoption we think the price of the foldable needs to trickle down to
09:08somewhere closer to like 600 to 700 dollars as in case to almost like 1800 to 2000 dollars right now
09:15but that will happen over a period of time now let's be real let's be practical right now nobody is
09:20buying a phone for 1.5 lakh rupees just to check their emails until and unless you have a lot of
09:27money maybe even more than elon musk so who should really buy a foldable phone in 2025 now here's the list
09:34if you are a creative professional who edits a lot of content on the phone and on the go i think
09:40these devices make sense for you now the finance bro who's running a lot of dashboards on the phone
09:46all day it makes sense for you as well business travelers who want the tablet experience right in
09:52their pockets and do not want to carry a heavier device alongside i think foldables just make sense
09:58and it could also be someone who just wants to stand out and be the talk of the town might not want
10:04to use all of the features but just wants a good looking a funky smartphone most analysts agree foldables
10:13will grow but not explode durability weight battery life and app support still need to improve
10:21also the tech has to go beyond just the wow factor all right so let's end this segment and answer the big
10:30question would i really spend 1.5 lakh on a foldable phone in 2025 not really only if it maybe does my
10:39laundry and gets me coffee that's the only reason i will buy it because otherwise i'll have to wait for
10:44prices to drop the features to grow and maybe just maybe there will be a day where foldables really feel
10:50normal in the hand and you know don't really feel awkward because right now they are evolving this
10:57feels more natural and if i can slip it into my pocket and not really feel that i have a multi-screen
11:03phone i think that is the line that is the place where foldables really need to be
11:13tell me are you curious about ai and what it can do for you well i am your ai guru giving you a crash
11:22course about everything ai today on the show and we're going to talk about a very unique piece of
11:28technology in the ai space which is called ai agents and i'm not talking about the agents that
11:33you've seen in the movie the matrix those are scary but not this one right now so what really is an ai
11:39agent and why is it really buzzing in the tech space can it really make my life easier or take my
11:47job away let's try to answer some of these questions in our segment okay let's break it
11:54down for you ai agents are digital assistants that don't just follow instructions they understand the
12:01goal plan the steps and get the job done on their own these agents can make decisions and adapt as they
12:10go unlike chat bots like chat gpt you don't have to keep prompting them just give them a goal and they
12:17figure out how to achieve it often by using multiple applications on your behalf so let's have a
12:23better understanding of ai agents let me give you a demo of how an agent actually works and we'll do
12:30this by using a website called mindtrip.ai where you can automate your travel planning and it's pretty
12:36simple it's just like a basic website let's say you need to plan a holiday to bali where you need to book
12:42flight tickets hotels plan an entire itinerary etc now that's a lot of work right but with this
12:48platform it's very easy now with agents all you have to do is give them a goal like i'm going to put
12:56into this prompt box a very simple prompt that i have taken and copy this entire thing it is basically
13:03related to the kind of trip i'm going to have and then after i have put the prompt just hit enter now
13:10while it's processing all you need to do is keep a watch on what it is doing and then if you want to
13:16book something you can do it directly on the platform and even if you want to make any changes
13:21to any recommendations or any flight options you can do that so imagine almost 80 to 90 of the work
13:29is being done by this ai agent and i think it is just a great way to save a lot of the effort that you
13:36are currently putting now when you look at all of these options that this uh this entire interface
13:42gives you it's very easy it's very intuitive and you do not have to go back and forth on the internet
13:48anywhere to reference these links all of these have been laid out and all of the reference links are
13:54available on the platform the flight options are right there so just imagine how easy this life you know
14:02your life becomes when you have an ai agent like this and this is just not for trips you can automate
14:08a lot of other things even running businesses can do something like this and i think this is fantastic
14:15today most of these ai agents which are operating are being used by software developers mostly for
14:21high-end work you give them a task like clean up the code or find a bug and they actually do it step by
14:28step without any assistance by the coders now on the outside of the tech world in maybe shops offices or
14:36factories they are still rare why because they're not fully polished yet you see these agents need access
14:44to your personal data to work efficiently and that can be a big privacy risk now would you really let a
14:51machine access all your emails maybe even shopping habits or even your location i think that sounds really
14:58scary so agents i would say aren't ready however in the future as they become smarter they will
15:05automate basic online tasks that we do now currently companies like github and even foxconn are using
15:12these ai agents to automate jobs but will it eat our jobs mo goddard former google x leader
15:22warns that ai could displace most knowledge workers roles by 2027 calling it a potential white collar
15:29bloodbath unless society adapts responsibly over the next 10 to 15 years 35 to 50 percent of current
15:39jobs are going to go okay okay okay 100 of jobs are going to get impacted 35 to 50 percent will be lost
15:50right so it's a very big number on the other hand sap ceo christian klein believes while ai boosts
15:58productivity human judgment remains indispensable in leadership and cross-culture roles he sees a
16:05workforce transformation not elimination fueled by analysts and data strategists so people are divided
16:13about the role of these agents india's it bpm sector still generates many jobs but by 2030 up to 69
16:22percent of formal tasks may be automatable with low skill roles most at risk but new roles are also
16:29emerging like ai process designers prompt engineers and human agent supervisors so yes agents could replace
16:37some jobs but they could also create entirely new industries regardless what happens agents are coming
16:44and here to say so better learn how to live with them because whether you like it or not these agents
16:52might just become your best friends what does a car buyer really look for when they are actually going
17:07out to buy a car they pull out a list look for all of the tech before buying and making the final
17:12decision and i feel they kind of opt out of some of these options because one tech can just bump up the
17:19price by a lot and every small upgrade gets the car costlier but there are some accessories that you
17:27should definitely not miss out on and you know upgrades for your car that are essential
17:39four accessories four ways to save yourself a headache and the first one on the list is a must-have
17:46especially if you're driving in cities where people have very little road sense
17:53see exactly i don't have to flip my lid unlike what we see on social media and whenever you
17:58meet a collision because even though i was coming from the right side and he was coming from the wrong
18:03side i have a dash cam installed which proves that i was right and he was wrong and it can also help
18:09you in a situation like this although now i have to take care of this dent which is a bit of an inconvenience
18:16dash cams are like your digital eyewitness they can be used for evidence for insurance claims
18:23protection in hit and run cases and give peace of mind in parking lots or public roads
18:29now when you're installing a dash cam in your car make sure that you install it in a position which
18:34doesn't impede your view of the road because this piece needs to be absolutely clear so
18:39i have found a position right over here over the rear view camera all i need to do is just remove the
18:44adhesive over here
18:49there is also already a protection which i've installed and then just position the camera
18:55and let's stick it over here and there you go
19:00and the one we have been testing is this the cubo smart dash cam pro 3k compact smart and sharp it
19:14records in 3k resolution that's clearer than standard hd and gives you a 140 degree wide field of view
19:21plus it comes with a built-in g sensor that detects sudden impact and locks the footage automatically
19:27a friendly advice whenever you're trying to install a gadget like this in your car if you can please
19:34get professional help because installing this is no cakewalk because we tried it i almost ripped off
19:41the adhesive the first batch of the adhesive like this it is not easy and also for the fact that
19:46the instructions need to be followed to the t so if you can get professional help great otherwise
19:52i mean it's not that difficult but it just saves you a lot of pain so try getting professional help
19:57there so whether you're driving across states or just to work this little device can make a big
20:05difference now let's talk about something even smaller but just as powerful if you're buying a car
20:14you always have to take it out of the showroom with insurance but regardless of insurance the one
20:19problem that a lot of car owners face is theft especially in cities like delhi a lot of cars
20:26are stolen but that one gadget that can help you recover your car or maybe even help in legal
20:32proceedings is a gps device now this device looks as small as this and it's installed inside of your
20:40car in the main mcu unit so there's a lot of wiring that needs to be done for this to efficiently work
20:46and it also is compatible with an app that you can track your phone now the best part is that all of
20:51these functionalities are within the application if you want to track where your car is you can also
20:56set geo-fencing whether alerts need to be sent to your phone if your car is out of a particular
21:02proximity so there are a lot of advantages with gps but the thing is the only complication that you
21:07would have to face is installing this one because there are a lot of wiring there's a lot of installation
21:13pre-installation and you would need to take professional help to install something like this because
21:17you cannot do your i mean i would advise you not to do it on your own but the best feature of this is
21:23your car remains safe you'll be able to track it down and it just gives you an extra added layer of
21:29protection which i feel every car owner should have especially those cars that do not come with
21:34pre-installed gps so yes invest a couple of bucks and get a device like this and peace of mind
21:41you can even view trip history and drive behavior all from your phone while using the compatible app
21:52so whether you share your car run a fleet or just sleep better knowing where your car is
21:57this is one device that can work silently but seriously
22:01i had parked my car here for like five minutes and my producer was supposed to check this but
22:13apparently she didn't get a good appraisal because of which she has done this but i actually used that
22:18appraisal that i was about to give her to buy a gadget a secret gadget which is going to help me with
22:23this problem let me show you how the cubo smart tire inflator is cordless compact and strong with up
22:39to 150 psi pressure it has preset modes for different vehicles it even has a built-in led light for night
22:47emergencies this inflator can top up eight tires on a single charge and comes with
22:53a 5000 mAh battery inside with multiple nozzles it's multi-purpose and convenient to carry
23:05all right so i am done filling the tire it takes about 10 to 15 minutes to finish one tire from a
23:12flat which i think is a decent pace but the problem here with this gadget is that it is running on a
23:18battery so you need to constantly keep charging and then you'll be able to use it so just make
23:24sure when you are leaving for road trips or going for a longer duration charge this one keep the
23:29battery full and then you'll be able to use it make the best use of it i understand sometimes people
23:39are faced with a situation where they have a laptop all right you have to head to office as an important
23:45presentation that you have to give unfortunately the laptop has run out of juice now i cannot use
23:51my 12 volt socket over here to charge my laptop so what am i going to do there is a gadget to help me
23:57with that and this is that gadget i can just put this one into my 12 volt socket and use my basic adapter
24:08charger which looks like this plug it in and then connect it to my type c charger and
24:19it's able to charge because uh it can take in the voltage and that is where the advantage comes in
24:24and i think this is great if you have to charge multiple devices heavy devices laptops even if there
24:32is something heavier maybe even heavy power banks cameras i think this is a great option to have in
24:38your car the ultra pro link mark ac 200 is a 200 watt car inverter that turns your car's 12 volt dc output
24:49into a true ac power just like a wall socket for charging it features two universal 200 watt ac outlets
24:57two usb cpd 24 watt ports and two usb a ports for protection it also has nine layers of protection
25:05for voltage heat and current it's perfect for creators remote workers or anyone who works on the go
25:13with this in the car you don't need to worry about dead batteries ever again not for your laptop or your
25:19phone or for anything so there you have it four problem solving gadgets that turn your car into a
25:27smarter and safer machine so phones are folding ai is getting smarter and agents are really taking
25:40over the internet the question is are you keeping up pace with all of the advancements if you want to
25:45know more please come to the show and watch tech today because we have all the updates coming to you
25:50right here this is cyrus signing off and i'll be back with a brand new episode next week take care guys
