00:00The remains of Alan Crystal Traoree, widely known as Alino Faso, have been repatriated to Burkina Faso from Cote d'Ivoire, ignited national mourning, and renewed calls for accountability.
00:14Traoree, a prominent social media influencer and supporter of Burkina Faso's ruling junta, was found dead in his Dhaka Jondomiri school cell in Abidjan late July.
00:26In Ouagadougou, hundreds marched in protest, dressed in white, from the Thama Sankara Memorial to the Ivorian Embassy.
00:35Ivorian authorities concluded that he took his own life by hanging himself with bedsheets, a finding swiftly rejected by his supporters, and that Burkina Bay government, who insists his death, was a villainous murder.
00:48They condemned the lack of prior notification to his family lawyer or Burkina Faso's embassy, and have demanded a full transparent investigation.
00:57Protesters carried placards calling for the truth and justice to be served, insisting that Traoree's case symbolizes a broader national grievance.
