00:00We're here today to announce what the Greens' plan is for Kiama.
00:05Our big, bold vision is for something beyond what the rhetoric was that every other candidate has said.
00:12It seems like it's just the same rehash.
00:15Whereas ours is, firstly, if you're going to do bold leadership, you've got to have great ideas.
00:21We believe that a battery-powered electric train is the answer for Kiama to Bombardieri.
00:28It's been proven in the Netherlands. It works.
00:31You transfer from the diesel to these electric-powered trains and it's just like an electric-powered car.
00:38You do not need to change anything. The infrastructure is simple.
00:42So while we haven't come to that sort of solution before, our challenge now is to the Premier, Mr. Minns,
00:49to back us in if this is a growing growth area that the Kiama Electric needs infrastructure to support.
00:57Also, we want to safeguard our healthcare sector, which is in crisis.
01:03We have nurses who have not had their promises made to them two and a half years ago of fair work conditions and also wage rises.
01:16They have been failed. We have our teachers who are burnt out.
01:21We have our aged care sector, which is also in crisis, so our public sector needs to have a laser-sharp focus on it.
01:30We need to turbocharge our climate action and transition to renewables faster than we've ever done before.
01:39It's time for better infrastructure. Our roads are crumbling. Our bridges are 19th century technology.
01:48And it seems like no politician has had the political willpower to make any difference.
01:54And at the end of the day, we need to have good women like these ones here beside me who have uncovered the flaws and a failing system,
02:07whether it's early childcare sector and the quality which seems to be in the regulations hasn't been there.
02:15Or over here with Sue, who everyday fights for social justice, environmental justice.
