00:07I'm starting to paraphrase the conversation that I didn't actually hear, but I understand
00:12that President Hardesty from the state school board was extremely critical of the positions
00:16you've taken on the vaccine and how basically, I think there was a comment made that we need
00:27to teach civics so we can understand a separate function of government and I guess my question
00:34is now school is starting in some places. What should people do?
00:37Look, at the end of the day, and I've said this, the school board has been dramatically
00:42overreaching and I think that there's just an utter lack of understanding of what the law is and that
00:48we're trying to breathe meaning into two different laws in order to ensure that religious freedom
00:55is being respected. And some people, they don't want to go through and do the hard work and read
01:01the different laws and see how this works. And also now we have two courts that have upheld our
01:07position. It's a strong position. Obviously, we're going to keep pressing away in court or ultimately
01:14have the legislature take action. So we're going to proceed. At the end of the day, this is something
01:20that will change. It's simply a question of when and just deeply disappointing that the school board
01:27is overreaching and not recognizing that they're out of touch with West Virginia on not only this
01:32issue, but a lot of the other issues that have come to the fore. And we're going to have to have a lot
01:37of broader discussions about the role of the school board because we need to make sure that there's
01:43political accountability with all officials in West Virginia government. All right. So that was
01:48the West Virginia governor, Patrick Morrissey, speaking alongside other officials there, taking
01:53some off-topic questions. But the goal of that news conference was to talk about West Virginia
01:59sending National Guard troops over to D.C. We also know that South Carolina and Ohio have done the same
02:06thing. We do have to head to our final two-minute commercial break right now, but a lot more live

04:45Do want to take you out live right now as it looks like a news conference is getting underway with NYPD after 11 people were shot at a Brooklyn club this morning.
04:54Good morning. The information I'm about to provide is preliminary and subject to change.
05:03I'm going to brief you on a shooting incident that occurred earlier this morning in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn.
05:10The details are as follows.
05:12At approximately 3 27 a.m., the 911 call center started receiving multiple 911 calls about a shooting inside of 903 Franklin Avenue, which is a lounge known as Taste of the City.
05:27Officers arrived within minutes of the first 911 calls and found numerous gunshot victims inside of the location.
05:35Currently we have identified 11 victims ranging in age from 27 to 61.
05:4261, 61, 8 males and 3 females.
05:51Three of the victims have already been pronounced one male age 27, one male age 35 and one male of an unknown age.
06:02The eight remaining victims are at local area hospitals with what is being described right now as non-life-threatening injuries.
06:11We are withholding victims' names pending family notifications, and the investigation into this incident is ongoing.
06:19What we know preliminarily is that there was a dispute inside of the crowded club that led to the shooting.
06:26We have multiple shooters involved in this shooting, and we have recovered at least 36 shell casings so far from what appears to be multiple guns.
06:38At this incident, I'll now take a few brief questions.

06:44Speaking of Sean Taylor-Selfson, what's the magnitude of this type of shooting?
06:48What's your performance dealing with right now?
06:50Well, we have, what is it, 11 people shot?
06:5411 people shot, three dead.
07:0211 people shot, three dead.
07:05It's a terrible shooting that occurred in the city of New York.
07:10There's no other way to...
07:12And it's been a pretty quiet, lower numbers of shooting.
07:16Yeah, I mean, we have the lowest number of shooting incidents and shooting victims seven months into the year that we've seen on record in the city of New York.
07:27Something like this is, of course, thank God, an anomaly, and it's a terrible thing that happened this morning.
07:33But we're going to investigate and get to the bottom of what went down.
07:36Next, CBS.
07:37Is there any history of prior shootings taking place inside this location or a lounge?
07:43Yeah, we need to confirm this.
07:45But I did hear that there was a shooting at this location, non-fatal, in, I believe, November of 2024.
07:54Anyone else?
07:56Were there any, um, that you're aware of any metal detects or anything where they would have checked the weapons?
08:00I don't know at this time.

08:09All right. And it did appear at one point there that we were getting a new news conference that was coming in from NYPD.
08:18But as you saw there, it was actually a refeed of the one from just a couple hours ago.
08:23We did want to make sure to play that for you here.
08:26It was obviously better quality than what we saw earlier today.
08:29But, again, NYPD sharing that 11 people were shot inside of that very crowded club overnight.
08:36And three people have passed away from their injuries.
08:40But eight of them were taken to hospitals with varying injuries, where we're going to get some more information on that.
08:46And we'll, of course, keep you updated as we do get those details.
08:50For now, I do want to get right back into some of the other big headlines that we are covering here
08:54as we take a live look over the White House in D.C.
08:58We know that President Zelensky of Ukraine is expected to meet with President Trump tomorrow at the White House.
09:05That meeting is set for Monday afternoon.
09:07So it is going to happen in the afternoon hours.
09:10We have not received any times or anything of that nature just yet.
09:14But we do hope to learn more as the day progresses.
09:16And we'll make sure to bring you all of those details and live feeds right here on Live Now from Fox in real time and uninterrupted.
09:26We also know right now that Zelensky is meeting with several European leaders, including the leaders of places like Britain and France.
09:34Also, Germany involved in the talks and the EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
09:39We got some of those images a bit earlier on today.
09:42But again, Zelensky will head to Washington for that meeting with Trump tomorrow.
09:47I do want to send it over to Stephanie Bennett with Fox, as she does have much more on the situation unfolding.
09:53Reactions are pouring in from world leaders and those on the ground in Ukraine and Russia.
09:58European leaders released a joint statement, including the U.K. Prime Minister, French President, German Chancellor and Italian Prime Minister,
10:05saying they welcomed President Trump's efforts to end the war,
10:08but said the next step must be further talks with Ukrainian President Zelensky,
10:12saying they're also ready to work to make a trilateral summit happen.
10:16The European statement, also signed by EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen,
10:20the Polish Prime Minister, Finnish President and European Council President,
10:24said Ukraine must have ironclad security guarantees to defend itself,
10:28while Europe will continue to uphold pressure and strengthen sanctions on Russia.
10:32European leaders have been invited to attend to talks between Zelensky and Trump in Washington on Monday,
10:36according to reports.
10:38Residents in Moscow say a major breakthrough was unexpected during the Alaska summit,
10:43but the fact that the meeting happened was a positive sign.
10:48We have some preconditions.
10:50Trump has different ones, but I still think that this is positive.
10:54Progress is going on.
10:55There are some meetings, negotiations, and we hope for the best.
10:59While in Kyiv, residents have reacted with skepticism.
11:03There are not any results, and we don't know if there will be,
11:06although we always expect something and hope for it.
11:09Despite these meetings, the back-and-forth attacks continue.
11:11A day before the summit, at least 13 people were wounded,
11:14and a Ukrainian drone attack on apartment blocks in southern Russia.
11:18And overnight, Ukraine's Air Force said Russia launched 85 drones and ballistic missiles across its front lines.
11:23The coalition of the willing leaders will meet on Sunday ahead of Zelensky's visit to D.C. on Monday.
