00:00All of the moving ways that this White House has patroned to Charlie Kirk.
00:05Do you think it would have been fitting to lower the flags to half-staff when Melissa Hornman,
00:11the Minnesota House Speaker, was gunned down by an assassin as well?
00:16I'm not familiar.
00:17The Minnesota House Speaker, a Democrat, was assassinated this summer.
00:23Well, if the governor had asked me to do that, I would have done that.
00:25But the governor of Minnesota didn't ask me.
00:27I wouldn't have thought of that, but I would have if somebody had asked me.
00:33People make requests for the lowering of the flag, and oftentimes you have to say no
00:37because it would be a lot of lowering.
00:39The flag would never be up.
00:41Had the governor of Minnesota asked me to do that, I would have done that gladly.
00:44And given the killing of Melissa Hornman, the attack on Paul Pelosi,
00:49the attack on Gabby Giffords, the attack on the Pennsylvania governor's mansion,
00:54why make the case that violence is only on one side?
00:59It seems to be taking place on the cause.
01:00I didn't say it's on one side, but I say the radical left causes tremendous violence,
01:04and they seem to do it in a bigger way.
01:06But the radical left really has caused a lot of problems for this country.
01:11I really think they hate our country.
01:12Okay, yeah, please.
01:13This may be related to the RICO work that you're doing, and I'd like to confirm.
01:18And we are really looking at that seriously.
01:20Vice President Vance was speaking with Stephen Miller earlier today about targeting NGOs,
01:26and they were saying foment violence.
01:28Is that that?
01:28Can you speak more to that?
01:30And what NGOs specifically are you looking to target?
01:34A number of them.
01:35Steve, please.
01:35Yes, I think what you're referring to is there are these nonprofit entities that organize,
01:41as the president mentioned, attacks on ICE officers, attacks on Border Patrol agents,
01:45organize doxing campaigns, which are a violation of federal law.
01:49They break off cement, and they bring into riots.
01:53They have organized drop points for weapons, organized drop points for a gas mask,
01:57organized drop points for all the materials necessary to launch a riot.
02:00Of course, you saw that during the Black Lives Matter riots as well, too.
02:02So there's this whole network of organizations, and I think the key point the president's been
02:06making is somebody is paying for all of this.
02:09This is not happening for free.
02:11And so under the president's direction, the attorney general is going to find out who
02:14is paying for it, and they will now be criminally liable for paying for violence.
02:19And you know, a new thing that I've been seeing a lot of lately but never saw before
02:25is they're walking in with bricks and rocks and everything.
02:29And the FBI or the Border Patrol or ICE or the police are grabbing them and taking them
02:37away, and that's great.
02:38And then they whip out a hammer, and it's a beautiful hammer, really.
02:44It's nice.
02:45You know, this is not a hammer somebody happens at.
02:47These are serious hammers, beautiful, brand-new hammers.
02:51And they start breaking up the concrete sidewalks and the granite curbs, in many cases.
02:56Granite is hard to cut.
02:58You know, it's very hard stone.
02:59And they're banging away and handing out pieces of stone.
03:02So instead of having it in bags, they're banging the sidewalk, knocking them.
03:07You have to see what some of these sidewalks look like when they finish, and especially
03:10the curbs, because the granite curbs are very, very expensive.
03:13And they're great and, you know, very hard.
03:16They are almost indestructible, but not when it gets pounded on for 20 minutes by some pretty
03:22strong guy.
03:23And then they hand out big chunks of stone so that people can throw them at the police
03:27and people can drop them off bridges at the car windows.
03:31No, we have a long way to go, and we're going to make it all good.
03:35We're going to make it really safe.
03:37This country is going to be safe.
03:39We've got almost three and a half years.
03:41Think of that, three and a half years.
03:42It's a long time.
03:44It goes quickly.
03:45But at the end of that time, I hope one of the many things we can say is that we made
03:49our cities safe again.
03:51Thank you very much, everybody.
03:59And we'll continue to follow the top headlines here on Live Now from Fox.
04:07I'm Andy Mack.
04:08We're back after this.
04:09Now from Fox, I'm Andy Mack.
04:11Lawmakers, including Speaker Mike Johnson, held a vigil for Charlie Kirk on Capitol Hill.
04:20Well, we thank you all for being here.
04:22This has been a very difficult week in America.
04:25There's a wide range of emotions that have been felt by the American people and, frankly,
04:31by leaders in the nation's capital.
04:32Sadness, of course, unspeakable grief that people have felt.
04:39Many of the people here assembled in Statuary Hall today were personal friends of Charlie
04:44Kirk.
04:44knew him well, watched his ministry and his organization develop over the years.
04:52And then the sadness for so many of us turned to anger.
04:56And there's been a mixture of emotions that included fear on behalf of a lot of people around
05:01the country.
05:02This heinous political violence, an assassination.
05:08Our friend Charlie did not pass away in a car accident.
05:13He was assassinated for standing for his political beliefs.
05:19And so it's, for so many of us, it has felt as if the ground has been shaken.
05:25And it's not just the people assembled here, of course.
05:28It involves students on university campuses around America and the over 3,000 chapters of
05:36Turning Point that are on university, college campuses, and high school campuses around the
05:41country.
05:41And all of the people in the network and in the conservative movement and throughout the
05:46nation that have heard Charlie's voice and felt a part of all that he was involved with,
05:51because he was on a mixture of media and his voice was heard loudly and clearly.
05:57What we do know about Charlie is that he would not want us to be overcome by despair.
06:02He would want us to carry the message forward to honor his memory and to expand the legacy they
06:10left behind.
06:11I've spoken, as many of us have, at a lot of memorial services over the last several
06:16days, some in my home state.
06:18We had one here at the Kennedy Center last night, as you all know.
06:23But we felt it was appropriate for us to gather here in the nation's capital in Statuary Hall
06:28to mark the passing of our friend, to share in a moment of reflection and a prayer together,
06:35which we'll have in a few moments after a few of the leaders speak here briefly.
06:39But I've summarized in every public remark that I've given that I think the best way
06:44to honor the memory of Charlie Kirk is to live as he lived.
06:48And I've encouraged young people to do two things, advance his principles and adopt his
06:55approach.
06:56The principles that Charlie stood for were faith and freedom and family and virtue and
07:00patriotism and America, which he believed and we all believe is the greatest nation in
07:06the history of the world, those are good principles to advance.
07:10And you honor Charlie by doing so, you honor your country, but also to adopt his approach.
07:17Because Charlie was a happy warrior and he was not angry at anybody about any of those things
07:21that he was advancing.
07:23He never hated anyone.
07:25In fact, in Charlie's own words, he was motivated by love.
07:28He believed in the words of scripture.
07:33He identified himself to be a Christ follower.
07:37And he tried to model that every single day in everything that he did.
07:41And as I remarked a couple of times already this week, what I loved about Charlie the most
07:44is though even though he could win any debate, he never held it against anyone on the other
07:49side of the table.
07:50To the contrary, he was the very first person to reach out a hand of friendship or to put his
07:55arm around the shoulder of someone who was on the complete opposite side of the political
08:00spectrum, philosophy or ideology, because it was about the people.
08:06That's what Charlie represented and his legacy will go on.
08:08Scripture reminds us that we should not be overcome by evil, but we should overcome evil with good.
08:18That is the legacy of Charlie Kirk.
08:20Amen.
08:25Well, Charlie Kirk was taken from us way too soon.
08:34So young.
08:37But yet you think about the impact that this young man had on this great country.
08:46And frankly, if you look in the last few days, you can see the impact that Charlie Kirk had
08:53on the entire world to see the outpouring, as the speaker said, of love and truly so much love
09:01for Charlie and what he represented.
09:04And for the beautiful family he left behind.
09:07Erica, the powerful words that Erica spoke the other night, hopefully continue to show America
09:15and the world that Charlie's legacy will live on and endure what he stood for needs to endure.
09:23Because what brought Charlie to public life was really first a concern that the ability to go to
09:35college just to learn and to express your own ideas, maybe even ideas of disagreement with somebody else,
09:43with a professor, that those powerful ideas were being threatened on our campuses.
09:50That was eroding.
09:52That free speech, that ability to debate in a civil way was being taken away.
09:58And he wasn't one of those people that just said he was going to complain about it.
10:03He actually vowed to do something about it.
10:06He didn't just start an organization called Turning Point USA.
10:10Charlie Kirk started a movement.
10:13A movement that's going to grow and thrive and represent those ideals that Charlie hopefully instilled
10:24in people that didn't even agree with him.
10:27You know, he was asked what he wanted to be remembered for.
10:35Not something, frankly, that young people would be asked, but he was asked that.
10:40And what he said is, I want to be remembered for courage, for my faith.
10:47That would be the most important thing.
10:49The most important thing is my faith in my life.
10:55And you could see it when you listened to him.
10:57It's what gravitated millions of people to Charlie Kirk.
11:01And it wasn't just young people on college campuses.
11:05People seasoned veterans of political discourse were drawn to that same message because it wasn't
11:12just about debating politics.
11:13It was about expressing your faith and why it's so important to be able to do that freely.
11:20And we can never live in fear.
11:24We can never let whatever people think drives them not to debate, but to try to resort to
11:32political violence.
11:33It can never be accepted as the norm in this great country.
11:38It goes against everything that our country was founded upon.
11:42In fact, the most powerful notion of America was not just that our rights are granted to
11:49us by God, but that you have the right to question your government.
11:56You have a right to question your leaders and then to do something about it.
12:01And the way you do something about it is you settle those differences at the ballot box.
12:04And Charlie truly believed that he led movements to get young people engaged in the political
12:14process.
12:14And it truly has made a difference.
12:18And that will not end.
12:20In fact, just judging by the tens of thousands of people who reached out over the weekend and
12:28said they want to start their own turning point chapters in their colleges or in their high
12:33schools, shows you that this movement will only grow and it needs to grow.
12:41But at this time, it's also important that we lean on our faith because we can all question why.
12:46Why was Charlie taken?
12:48Why are those two beautiful young kids going to grow up without their father?
12:52Let us vow that Erica is always going to have our prayers and our support that she's able and she
13:01will make sure those young kids know the power of their father.
13:07They will always remember Charlie.
