00:00This is in Boston, and the Boston Red Sox looking to make a surge
00:03to try to get into the playoffs.
00:04Miami basically playing spoiler down the stretch to teams like the Red Sox
00:07and also to teams in the NL East.
00:09A 971-972 rotation here, 135 start.
00:13Jansen Junk is on the mound going up against Garrett Crochet, the lefty.
00:16Massive favorite for those Boston Red Sox, Tom.
00:19Minus 250s overnight, minus 260s now in the sports landscape,
00:22depending on which sports books you're checking out.
00:25Eight and a half as the total today, Boston and Miami.
00:28What are we feeling?
00:29Well, we should be looking at the Red Sox cruising to another game,
00:34A, because Garrett Crochet is amazing.
00:36And despite the, I would say, very nice run that the Marlins went on through,
00:40like a four, two, three-week stretch, they are two and eight over their last ten games.
00:45You know, water will find its level.
00:46We look to Crochet, who I am now personally invested in.
00:49I traded for him in one of my Dynasty Fantasy Leagues, so I got him on board.
00:5430.8% strikeout rate, 6.5% walk rate.
00:57When you're looking at Jansen Junk, Johnny, is this a pitcher we need to be worried about?
01:01A, he doesn't strike anyone out.
01:0217% strikeout rate.
01:04I will say on the season, which is a 75-inning sample size, he has a 2.6% walk rate, which is phenomenal.
01:11It really is.
01:12And .60 home runs per nine.
01:14But when we're also looking at some of his stuff, his badminton is over 300, so he doesn't strike anyone out.
01:19He doesn't walk anyone, but he also pitches to a little bit of contact.
01:22And when we're looking at this Red Sox lineup, top five hitters, Anthony Story, Deron Yoshida, and Abreu,
01:29even throwing Romy Gonzalez in there, I'm liking what I'm seeing from the Red Sox offense.
01:33It's 90 degrees there.
01:34Yes, that's what we're getting to, right, Tom?
01:3788 degrees at first pitch, which, you know, it'll get hotter in the afternoon.
01:40A double-digit wind blowing out that usually has good stuff.
01:42Now, I've talked about Jansen Junk earlier in the season, saying, you know what?
01:45This guy's got some weird metrics here, but he's getting the job done.
01:48He's not really getting the job done anymore.
01:49His last 30 days, Tom, ISO against, if we combine lefties and righties, it's 250.
01:53Weighted on base percentage, 382.
01:55His K rate, Tom, over this, 108 batters over the past month, it's 13%.
01:59So, the fact of the matter is, like, oh, his walk rate doesn't put a lot on.
02:02Like, most of us, Tom, are bettors of RBI props, getting base hits, over bases.
02:07Like, you don't want a guy walking.
02:09Oh, man, a guy walked here.
02:10So, if this guy doesn't strike you out and doesn't walk you in these temperatures,
02:13in a hitter's ballpark, it feels like you've got to be taking a look at some of these
02:16Boston Red Sox batters in this game.
02:17And Junk over the past, or excuse me, I should say, what's about maybe 45 days or so,
02:22430 ERA, 454 X fifth number.
02:24But, again, the best of it was earlier in the season.
02:26The worst of it is coming right now.
02:28I'm really expecting that team to hit here.
02:30Opposite side, sometimes you can have fun with the Miami Marlins lineup.
02:33But, you know, the Kyle Sowers of the world, when they're not in it, it's really a mixed bag.
02:36Garrett Crochet does struggle a little bit with left-handed bats.
02:39But you're not going to get any lefties in the lineup today,
02:42which is where you probably would figure that Crochet might be able to do some damage against righties.
02:45We'll find it out.
02:46But for me, I also look at the same way as you do.
02:48Boston Red Sox should win, and we're waiting to see some fireworks in this game.
02:52And we'll see how it turns out here.
02:54137 start here.
02:54Let's keep it here in the AL East, at least one of those teams.
02:57The Toronto Blue Jays.
02:58Jose Barrios should be on the mound, taking on Nathan Eovaldi.
03:01We talked about Texas in the standings.
03:03It's just not going in the right direction.
03:04Toronto holding firm as the leader in the AL East.
03:08961-962.
03:09This line opened up, Tom, overnight.
03:11Eovaldi's slight favorite.
03:12Now we're seeing a pick-em at just about every outlet that you're shopping at.
03:15A total that's listed at A today.
03:18Can Toronto get the job done?
03:19They brought the bats yesterday.
03:20They brought the bats yesterday.
03:23I was on IGL with Scott Wetzel.
03:26We were talking about over 13.5, over 15.5, which both of those did come through, which
03:30was great.
03:31But, you know, the line being so balanced or roughly a pick-em is rather interesting.
03:37I know Eovaldi got blown up in his last start, and that's really abnormal for him.
03:40He's actually had an awesome year on the mound.
03:43But, you know, Barrios is an okay pitcher when it's all said and done for me, but the lineup
03:49discrepancy is so heavily favored in the Blue Jays that it's tough for me to back Eovaldi.
03:56Despite how good he has been, I have so much confidence in the Blue Jays lineup to come
04:02through when it's all said and done.
04:04Once Eovaldi's out of the game, the Rangers' bullpen is terrible.
04:07So, he could actually, you could actually win Rangers' first five with Toronto full game
04:13because Eovaldi bounces back after a rough last start against the Dimebacks.
04:17But, man, that Blue Jays lineup comes through late against the Rangers' bullpen.
04:20That's how we see this playing out.
