00:00Welcome back on a lovely day in Detroit.
00:04Saturday afternoon football.
00:05Time for the keys to the game.
00:07They're presented by Whisker.
00:09TJ?
00:09Well, no surprise.
00:10Got to be able to run the ball on offense.
00:12Last week, if you take out the quarterback scrambles,
00:14the running backs only average about three yards per carry.
00:16You're at home.
00:17Communication should be a lot clearer.
00:19Got to make sure you get the run game going.
00:20And then defensively, look, we talked about it a lot last week.
00:23We loved what we saw from the pass rush.
00:25If you can continue to set this Miami offense up in second down,
00:28second in longs, and third in longs, and unleash that pass rush,
00:31you're going to have a lot of success.
00:33Well, the defense has made it difficult on the offense.
00:36The offense finally broke out this week.
00:38Danny Rogers?
00:39Hey, Jason.
00:41They were the joint practices heard around the world
00:43in terms of how dominant Detroit was against Miami this past week.
00:47For the offense, their performance was crucial.
00:50Amon Ross St. Brown told me the elephant in the room all of training camp
00:53had been that the offense was struggling.
00:55Head coach Dan Campbell agreed.
00:57He told me yesterday none of his offensive perfectionists ever panicked
01:01or blamed someone.
01:02Instead, they made some tweaks.
01:03They went back to what Jared Goff is good at
01:05and what the offensive line can handle,
01:07which should be a lot more considering left tackle Taylor Decker
01:10finally made his return back into the lineup
01:13after offseason shoulder surgery.
01:16Decker said Wednesday's practice, oh, man, that offense looked great,
01:19but they are still nowhere near where they want to be for week one just yet.
01:23I know there's one guy that's very excited that when you add an offensive lineman,
01:27everything gets better.
01:28Well, especially when it's your 10-year veteran pro bowl left tackle.
01:32It usually makes you feel a little bit more comfortable.
01:34But in this game, we're watching a bunch of spots,
01:36including the reserve offensive line, right?
01:38Like, how can the second team move the ball because of the guys up front?
01:42And the Lions will have it first.
01:44Yes, and that's what we're going to see.
01:45And we want to continue to watch how they build depth on that offensive line.
01:49I think there's a couple guys right now that have played a lot of football for you
01:52in Dan Skipper and in Coyote Awaseka.
01:55But the fact of the matter is you've got to have eight or nine guys
01:57that can go in there, be versatile, play left guard, play right tackle,
02:00do whatever you have to do.
02:01Give the coaches confidence that, you know what,
02:03if you have to play an extended period of time,
02:05we don't need to completely change everything we're doing offensively.
02:08And you see one of those pieces that you get back,
02:11Sione Baki is in for the first time this preseason.
02:16The multi-dimensional, multi-use guy at Utah
02:20who should get some time in the backfield,
02:23a very loaded backfield for the Lions.
02:25And he brings versatility too, not only what he does on special teams,
02:29but at the offensive side.
02:30We saw him last year as a rookie running a lot of rounds, right?
02:33Not only just being that power back on third and short,
02:36but can it be multi-dimensional in this offense?
02:40That's nasty to do a lot of things.
02:42Here we go, Lions football on a Saturday afternoon.
02:45Grant Stewart on the return, the linebacker turned kick returner.
02:50And you see that muscular frame all the way up to the 29-yard line.
02:54And that's where the Lions will have it first.
02:56Kyle Allen scheduled to get the start at quarterback
03:01after a very strong 7 for 8 for a buck 20 against Atlanta.
03:06He was very good.
03:07And some of those shots that he was taking down the field is what I love to see.
03:10Not just the three-step drops and the quick slants and the quick outs,
03:14but what's the accuracy look like down the field?
03:16We know that Coach Morton has been talking about being able to stretch it
03:19with some of these playmakers we have.
03:20Kyle Allen's coming off a very solid game last week against Atlanta.
03:23He has Craig Reynolds to his right on a first down throw.
03:28It's a short set.
03:29He gets it out wide, and he's got a completion to Jackson Meeks,
03:33who had a big day against Atlanta.
03:35Starting lineups presented by MGM Grand Detroit.
03:39Here is the offensive line.
03:40Both tackles are back, Jones and Skipper.
03:42And that's big.
03:43And I know that man who was playing a lot of left tackle, right tackle,
03:47while Decker was out, while Skipper was out,
03:50while Jamarco Jones was out.
03:51Good to get those guys back, and it's better to shore up that offensive line
03:54so you can fairly evaluate the quarterbacks, the running backs,
03:57and get just your best options in there to make sure you're playing good football.
04:01It's a boot.
04:02It's a throw.
04:03It's complete to Kennedy.
04:04And Tom Kennedy just short of midfield on the completion from Allen,
04:09but on time on target.
04:12And two just easy completions, right?
04:14The first one, the three-step drop.
04:15This time just to play action off the back side.
04:18Tom Kennedy, nice job of staying friendly to the quarterback,
04:21getting your eyes back, and giving Kyle Allen a big target out there in the flat.
04:24And then the work after the catch is always something that we love to see.
04:28Former Boston Cannon, Tom Kennedy, with his first grab.
04:32At the 48, it's second down and two with Reynolds the tailback.
04:39And he will get this carry into the teeth of that Dolphins defensive line.
04:44We'll see some of their regular defensive linemen, at least early.
04:47Benito Jones, Kenneth Grant, the rookie out of Michigan,
04:49in the middle of that defensive line.
04:52There you see Grant, the former Wolverine.
04:53And some big bodies in there, too.
04:57Just last week watching them against Chicago, this Miami Dolphins front.
05:00It can be difficult to run in the middle when you have, you know,
05:03three or four guys that look like they can play nose tackle for you.
05:06This offensive line, good job that last time of surging up the field,
05:09not letting up any penetration.
05:11Well, we know Benito Jones, 6'1", 3.35, the list price.
05:15Reynolds, one dodge, gets to the outside.
05:17First down and lower across the 30-yard line.
05:21There is a marker down all the way back at midfield.
05:24It's a 31-yard run if it stands.
05:29There was a Dolphin in the backfield immediately,
05:32and that may have elicited a hold.
05:36Here is Adrian Hill.
05:38Holding off it.
05:40The Brady's five.
05:42Ten-year penalty.
05:43May third down.
05:46It is on Kennedy.
05:51And take a look at Tom Kennedy lined up right on the edge.
05:55He's going to try to dig off this.
05:58Safety coming back.
05:59Good hand placement.
06:01And, yeah.
06:03Touching, Jason.
06:05He didn't grab.
06:05I mean, normally if the hands are inside.
06:08Yeah, that right hand up.
06:10He does get a little bit on the...
06:11Yeah, that's a lot.
06:12And, you know, that's difficult because the receiver,
06:13you're trying to cut off the inside, right?
06:15And if the running back bounces it, he just,
06:17you don't have eyes in the back of your head.
06:19So, I don't think that's a terrible rep from Tom Kennedy.
06:22Maybe if that right hand is just more on the inside chest plate,
06:25probably get away with it there.
06:26Instead, you're left with having to get to midfield on a third down and 11,
06:32and the Lions...
06:33Too much time.
06:34...will get a flag.
06:37I thought they might give the timeout.
06:44It looked like Allen was trying to signal for the timeout
06:47or the reset of the shot for the play clock.
06:52Yeah, and normally they...
06:54I don't know how they decide when to reset it or not.
06:57And the long play, right?
07:00Craig Reynolds' long run, and then that's a penalty.
07:02Everybody's got to get back to the line of scrimmage.
07:03Sometimes...
07:04I really don't know how they decide to give the reset or not.
07:08This is Vahki, and he is swarmed, and Vahki is dropped.
07:14First man in was Willie Gay, the six-year man out of Mississippi State.
07:19And it was a promising drive, but for the hold against Kennedy.
07:26Yeah, and that time just trying to run just a quick screen out to Vahki,
07:30get some offensive line out in front.
07:31Miami, great awareness.
07:33Anytime you're thinking third and long, that's always potential for screen.
07:36That's potential for a draw.
07:37Normally, the offense is just trying to get a chunk back
07:41to put themselves in better position to bring the weapon Jack Fox on
07:45to change the field possession.
07:47You're okay with me mentioning that Dee Eskridge went to Western Michigan, right?
07:51That's fine.
07:51All right, hashtag action.
07:53Eskridge back to return.
07:55He's in the 26.
07:56And he lost the ball to Popsek in the air.
07:59It's still alive, and it looks like the Dolphins are on top of it.
08:03Sione Vahki was the one to punch at three.
08:06How about that?
08:07Sione Vahki is such a weapon for this team,
08:11and he is going to be fun to watch,
08:13not only in this game, but this year.
08:15He is, he brings value, comes in here, helmet right on the football.
08:20That is teach tape right there from Sione Vahki.
08:26Did they ask you to do the commercial too?
08:28Yeah, but they just gave me.
08:30On offense, and then dislodges the ball for a fumble on the return.
08:35So we see his versatility early on in this game,
08:38and now the defense will show up against this Miami offense.
08:42Zach Wilson looking to his left.
08:44He'll sling it out that way,
08:46and he's got it to Eric Ezucama,
08:48the former Texas Tech Red Raider.
08:51Starting lineups presented by MGM Grand Detroit.
08:55What are you watching on this defense today, TJ?
08:57Well, we already talked about Keith Cooper,
08:58who's out there right now,
08:59to see if he can be disruptive on that interior defensive line.
09:03Good to have Pat O'Connor back,
09:04who played a lot of football last week,
09:05and I think Al-Qadim Mohamed has also taken a step this training camp.
09:10He played a lot of meaningful snaps late in the season last year.
09:13He is a guy that can really bring some edge to him when he's pass rushing.
09:17We're also seeing Nick Whiteside down at the bottom of the formation.
09:21As a marker comes in, we'll see how loud Adrian Hill is this time.
09:24It's against Farrell Brown.
09:35You mentioned Keith Cooper in the open.
09:37As you watch him today, what are you scanning for?
09:40I want to see a football player.
09:41I think sometimes with young players, you can think too much,
09:44and, oh, I've got to do this.
09:45I've got to be perfect with my hands or my foot.
09:48Just be a football player and try to find a way to make plays,
09:50and I want to see how often he lines up right now.
09:53He's over the right tackle.
09:54How often he lines up on the outside or the interior of that defensive line.
09:58Well, that versatility is so important to Dan Campbell.
10:00Here's a shovel pass.
10:01It goes to Tanner Cotter,
10:03and he is submerged by Grant Stewart,
10:06who had some tippiness with the Dolphins during the week
10:09because he is one of the most competitive Lions going.
10:13Yeah, he is, and we've seen it not only throughout practices,
10:16but games too, right, a couple times against him in the last week,
10:20and he's fighting his athleticism and his physicality.
10:23That's, we know, is a non-negotiable.
10:25If you're going to play,
10:26especially at the linebacker position for Kelvin Shepard's defense,
10:30you have to be fast.
10:31You have to be physical.
10:32He has been very impressive so far throughout training camp.
10:35Sometimes it's like he's playing two-time speed from everybody else, Grant Stewart.
10:39Right, the tailback, blitz straight up the middle.
10:42Wilson gets hit.
10:43It's nearly intercepted.
10:45Zach Wilson got clobbered and had to hustle it up.
10:51It is fourth down coming.
10:54Both linebackers coming out of blitz.
10:55It's going to be Zach Cunningham and then Grant Stewart.
10:58The running back lets Cunningham go first.
11:01That's not what you want to do.
11:02You always want to take the most dangerous,
11:04and that's always going to be the first guy that shows color in the backfield.
11:07But I love the call from Kelvin Shepard.
11:09Third and long, try to put some pressure on him.
11:11Hey, trust your defensive backs are going to be just fine
11:14and one-on-one coverage, and really nice rep there from Zach Cunningham,
11:17who's got a ton of experience in this league.
11:19Yeah, he's a ninth-year man out of Vanderbilt,
11:22and he has pressed to make himself a piece of this thing.
11:26But you see the smile on Kelvin Shepard's face,
11:29everybody over on the sideline.
11:30And this has been a clever defense in play calling already for the Lions.
11:40Detroit Lions season tickets have sold out,
11:43and the Lions are taking reservations for the season ticket wait list.
11:46Wait list benefits include priority access to seat selection
11:49and early access to single game and postseason ticket pre-sales.
11:54A couple weeks until the opener against the Green Bay Packers
11:59in week one on the road, then here to Ford Field.
12:02And Isaac Tesla grew up watching a lot of Packers-Lions games.
12:05He is a Lions fan through and through.
12:07In his first game here since the state title win in 2018,
12:13a big memory for him.
12:15As here is Reynolds bouncing it outside again.
12:17There's a marker in it again.
12:19Twice, Reynolds gets to the edge.
12:24It is flag number three of the game.
12:28Holding the office number four.
12:31Ten-yard cutoff.
12:34It's on Zach Horton.
12:36And very, very similar to what we saw with Tom Kennedy.
12:40He's just kind of leading up, right?
12:43He's going to try to cut off the back side.
12:45That play is designed to go inside.
12:47Once Craig Reynolds bounces it there, you get caught with your hands outside, right?
12:51You're not expecting that play.
12:52That play is not designed to get all the way back out to the outside edge.
12:55So hard to blame Zach Horton for that,
12:57but you also have to read the defender's eyes.
12:59As soon as they try to shed or redirect to a different spot,
13:03you've got to release it or at least try to run your feet
13:05to stay in front of that defender.
13:07So you're watching the eyes for that?
13:08100%.
13:09And look, if it's an ISO right,
13:10I'm not expecting the play necessarily to bounce all the way back to the back side,
13:14but you just have to read the body language of the defender.
13:17With Focky, and this is down the middle, incomplete for Tesla.
13:22Kyle Allen's throw to the former high school quarterback, Tesla.
13:29Haven't seen that much out of Tesla throughout training camp.
13:32Just a nice over route.
13:33His guy falls down, maybe just a tad too high.
13:36I know Kyle Allen's probably telling himself,
13:38hey, that's on me, I've got to get it down right in front of the numbers, right?
13:42But I know Tesla, just listening to the way that he talks and his competitiveness,
13:47he'll be the first one to say,
13:48ah, man, I've got to make that play.
13:49In that game we were talking about here at Ford Field,
13:51when he won the state title,
13:53not only was he the quarterback,
13:54but he picked off two passes.
13:56So we know the hands are good in this building.
13:59As Focky runs straight into the defense
14:01and sets up a third down and long
14:03and the tackle for K.J. Brett, the former Auburn Tiger.
14:08Focky, what do you see him as in this offense
14:12when you already have Sonic and Knuckles?
14:14Well, I think that him and Craig Reynolds are very similar players.
14:17They're physical.
14:18They can be guys that can spell either one of those two guys.
14:21They can get in there.
14:23Speaking of physical, look at Tesla.
14:25Tesla, yeah, you've got to be ready for that.
14:27Nice job keeping his feet, but just going back to Focky,
14:30he's versatile.
14:31He's not just a one-trick pony.
14:32I think he's got really great vision, too,
14:34for a young running back.
14:37Looked like that was Mellon Fonnery
14:38with a former lion for the Dolphins there.
14:41Allen on the run.
14:42He was in front of the line of scrimmage.
14:44We'll see if the marker comes in.
14:46It's a catch for Tesla.
14:50It's a first down for now,
14:52but there is the marker in back at the 26th.
14:55Full body was in front of the line, it looked like.
14:58Yeah, and as long as
15:00really just the back foot has to be
15:02on the line of scrimmage, but
15:04you're right.
15:06Initial thought looked like Kyle was
15:07maybe a yard too far past the line of scrimmage
15:10when he did look, delivered that football.
15:11Illegal four pass off the number eight.
15:16The passer was beyond the line of scrimmage.
15:19That's a five-yard penalty with an awful down fourth down.
15:25And really just awareness there for Kyle Allen.
15:28I mean, we saw in that Hall of Fame game where,
15:30you know, he slid about a yard too short on a third down,
15:34and that time just got to make sure
15:37you're taking, you know, an angle at the sideline
15:40to make sure where those sticks are.
15:41And quarterbacks will tell you,
15:42as soon as you get up to a line of scrimmage,
15:44you have to know that, right?
15:45I have to know I'm at the, you know,
15:4724-yard line and not the 23.
15:50That's just an awareness play from Kyle Allen.
15:52I like the ability of getting outside the pocket
15:54and extending the plays and keeping his eyes downfield,
15:57but you got to also clean up the little details, right?
15:59I will say that because of the joint practices in part,
16:04it feels like there is a disdain for one another
16:08that creates good theater for preseason football.
16:11Willie Gay, after the penalty,
16:12was like putting his arms to his side
16:15and trying to get the crowd, like, jokingly, like,
16:17hey, where are you guys?
16:19The hit on Tesla after the play,
16:22there's a lot going on, and this will be stopped.
16:26Yeah.
16:29I was going to say, I thought I heard a whistle.
16:33It didn't look normal.
16:35Please reset the game clock to 8.15.
16:38The clock will start and the snap.
16:40And Jason, going back to your point about
16:42these aren't common opponents, right?
16:44You don't see Miami about every four years,
16:47but, you know, when you talk about the joint practice
16:49and I was there Wednesday
16:50and everything that was written about that
16:52really sounded like the Lions dominated, right?
16:55So, look, the other guys are professionals, too.
16:57They take it personally when everybody's talking about,
17:01hey, what happened, man?
17:02Wednesday, you know, you guys got beat up a little bit.
17:04So, last time you get to play these guys,
17:06obviously, in a game which matters the most,
17:09but there's a lot of pride out there.
17:11Maybe you had a bad rep on Wednesday or Thursday
17:13that you want to go get that bad taste out of your mouth.
17:14There are guys in white and teal there
17:17that are trying to make a team as well.
17:19Eskridge, and for a booming whistle from Fox,
17:22back to the 18 on a 62-yard punt.
17:26Now the return team, and Eskridge across the 30,
17:29there's a marker down all the way back at the 24.
17:33You force guys to block for that long,
17:35running laterally.
17:36Quite often, you'll see a marker comes in.
17:38And the hang time with that distance.
17:45Normally you see it that far,
17:46it doesn't stay up in the rafters that long.
17:48Man, he is a weapon, Jack Fox.
17:52During the return, illegal walk in the back
17:54against the return team, number 33.
17:57That penalty supports 10 yards from the spot of the foul.
18:00First down, timeout.
18:02That was an absolute rocket from Fox.
18:07Dolphins have it next.
18:10Still scoreless down here in Ford Field.
18:13Danny Rogers joining you from the sidelines.
18:14And this could not be a more full-circle moment
18:16for safety Ian Kennelly.
18:18His parents have been off and on season ticket holders
18:22since 91.
18:23His first experience ever inside Ford Field
18:25was in 06 when his mom was a financial analyst
18:29for the Super Bowl committee.
18:30So he was down here running on the field.
18:33And then in 08, he came and watched his first game
18:35because guess who?
18:36His uncle, Stuart Schweiger,
18:38was a safety suiting up for the Lions.
18:40I talked with Ian's mom a couple weeks ago
18:43here at training camp.
18:44She had tears in her eyes.
18:45She told me, I don't want to sound cliche,
18:47but we have to keep asking ourselves,
18:49is this real?
18:50Yes, Kennelly family, it is very real.
18:53And Ian has won a heck of a training camp so far.
18:56It's so cool.
18:57And just as you were talking, Danny,
18:59you see that position.
19:00He's fading back into.
19:02He's alone on the back end there.
19:04Like he's got a whole bit of space
19:06at Ford Field to himself
19:08as he comes up to the line here.
19:10You just wonder what's in his mind
19:12as this is happening.
19:13What a cool moment
19:14for Ian Kennelly,
19:16former Grand Valley State player.
19:20Cooper, the tackle on first down.
19:22Wilson this time has a throw.
19:24He's got Tanner Cotter once again.
19:26And he bowls forward into Kennelly
19:29after he gained a 13.
19:31Now he's involved.
19:32Now he's got a tackle.
19:33That's physicality, right?
19:35He's going to start at the line of scrimmage,
19:36drop back to that deep third.
19:38Come up and, man.
19:39That's the first time
19:40we've seen him blow with those fans.
19:42He is not afraid of contact.
19:44I'll tell you what,
19:44watching Ian Kennelly,
19:45some of the plays that he makes
19:46even in practice,
19:47the coaches have to remind him,
19:48like, hey, we've got to take care
19:49of our own guys.
19:50We want you to compete
19:51and don't get me wrong,
19:52but it's hard to balance that.
19:54You want the competitive nature,
19:56but you also, you know,
19:57don't want to do anything silly.
19:59Here's a blitz from the corner
20:00and it forces a short hop.
20:03Avante Maddox was the one coming
20:05to Zach Wilson to speed up the timer.
20:10I love the pressure
20:11that we're seeing so far.
20:13Kelvin Shepard's not afraid.
20:14Avante Maddox right down there
20:16in the slot.
20:17You can tell,
20:17reading the quarterback's eyes
20:18as soon as that ball triggers,
20:19get in the backfield.
20:20He knows he's not going to get a sack there,
20:21which I love from Avante Maddox.
20:23That's just experience, right,
20:25from that slot position.
20:27If you're not going to get a hit
20:28or a sack,
20:29get in the throwing lane
20:30and first a bad pass,
20:31which we just saw.
20:32He's a Super Bowl winner
20:33with a couple of years ago
20:35in that time.
20:37Second down,
20:38here comes the crowd.
20:42And it is a handoff
20:43to the outside
20:44for Ty's Washington
20:45on the end of round.
20:46He's going to be about a yard short
20:48to set up third down and one.
20:50Love that from the crowd,
20:52by the way.
20:52That was not three seasons.
20:54Good, really good crowd.
20:55You can tell these people
20:56missed football here in Detroit.
20:58in just the last couple seasons
20:59of watching Ford Field
21:00turn into the weapon
21:02that it has been
21:03as far as a coach.
21:04It's been a year of the line.
21:05And he's already a couple times today
21:06some miscommunications
21:08with Miami's offense.
21:10A false start in there.
21:11That's the 12th.
21:12That is the crowd
21:13that has been able
21:14to be a disruptive
21:15opposing offense.
21:17Here we go,
21:17third and one.
21:26Wright gets the carry
21:27and Wright is very close.
21:44run patterns, right?
22:06Diagnosing double teams
22:08and how do I set
22:09my defensive tackle up
22:10to get off a block
22:11or how do I
22:11maybe show the guard
22:12that I'm going to come
22:13in the A gap
22:14and then at the last minute
22:15bounce to the back side
22:16where that hole is going to be.
22:18You can tell just the experience
22:19Zach Cunningham has.
22:20He's a guy that can add
22:21a ton of value
22:22to that already
22:22pretty stacked linebacker group.
22:24But he's, man,
22:25he is a fun football player
22:26to watch.
22:27You can tell guys
22:28that are instinctive.
22:30And Zach Cunningham,
22:31obviously with the
22:31experience that he has,
22:33has really great instincts
22:35and can really be
22:36a nice find
22:37for Calvin Shepard
22:38in this defense.
22:40Well, Hawkeye
22:41is not cooperating
22:43for the moment,
22:44but we're looking
22:44for Jack Campbell,
22:45Sam Laporta
22:46or Steven Stigliano
22:47as maybe they can help
22:48one of the Hawkeyes
22:50on the Lions roster.
22:51Maybe they can run out
22:52and just kind of eyeball it
22:53and see if they,
22:55there he is.
22:56Maybe we can get
22:57a little help,
22:58you know,
22:59from one of the 43's
23:00for the Lions.
23:03Well, the double numbers
23:05will strike every once
23:06in a while, too.
23:07Here it is.
23:11Here's your virtual measurement.
23:14Hmm.
23:16Well, Deron Gilbert
23:17didn't help.
23:18Kind of expected
23:19some better graphics
23:20in the year 2025 there.
23:22Look at the technology
23:23we have.
23:24Just a little 3D football
23:25in the middle of the line.
23:26I guess keep it simple, right?
23:28Nothing's wrong with that.
23:29They're doing this,
23:30by the way,
23:31in the preseason
23:31for rehearsal purposes.
23:33So we joke around,
23:34but like,
23:34once the season
23:35is up and running,
23:37it's going to be faster.
23:38We've seen it
23:39in Major League Baseball
23:40what these Hawkeye cameras
23:41can do with the value of it.
23:42It's going to be faster.
23:43And as long as it is faster,
23:44it can speed the game up
23:46to where you're now
23:46thrown under the tent
23:47to take a look every time
23:48somebody's close
23:49to that marker.
23:50Wilson on a lob.
23:51He's got the tight end again.
23:53Connor trying to step through
23:55and he is hard tied
23:57after a game
23:58just about 8.
24:00Tyson Russell
24:01hooked on to him
24:03and wouldn't let go.
24:05Yeah, a little bootleg
24:05there from Zach Wilson
24:06finds his tight end
24:07in the flat.
24:08I'll tell you what,
24:08that was a really nice tackle
24:10from Tyson Russell
24:11because it looked like
24:12Miami had some blockers
24:13out there
24:13and a whole lot
24:14of real estate.
24:15Love seeing the young player
24:16coming up there
24:17one-on-one
24:17and making a tackle.
24:23Second and three.
24:25Play action for Wilson
24:27on the roll.
24:28He will throw,
24:28fading again.
24:29He's got the completion
24:30to Dee Eskridge.
24:32It's a Miami first down
24:33into Lions territory.
24:35And Michigan State
24:36returns to Ford Field
24:37Saturday, November 29.
24:39Their game against Maryland.
24:40Scan that QR code
24:41right there on the screen.
24:42For a ticket information.
24:44Should be a big game
24:45late in the season
24:46for the Spartans
24:47trying to get back
24:48to a ball game.
24:53Now, Kelvin Shepard's defense
24:54for the first time
24:55seeing Miami
24:56on a sustained drive
24:59behind the former
25:01Jack, Zach Wilson.
25:07Second-year man, Jalen Wright
25:08off the stretch play.
25:09They just barely got it to him.
25:11Wilson had to ramble
25:12to get him the ball
25:13as Chris Smith,
25:14the second-year man
25:15out of Notre Dame
25:15chopped him down.
25:18You've got to be ready
25:19to do a lot of cardio
25:20against this Miami offense
25:22with how much they like
25:23to stretch the field.
25:24It's a lot of outside zone.
25:26It's a lot of jet sweeps.
25:27We talked about it last week
25:28maybe with Atlanta
25:29with all the motions
25:30and I don't think
25:31they motioned one time.
25:31We talked about it.
25:32They didn't seem
25:33to have talked about it.
25:34They didn't agree with us.
25:35But this Miami team,
25:36we've already seen
25:36a couple times
25:37those old jet sweeps,
25:38trying to get motions.
25:39And a lot of times
25:40when you're motioning
25:41on offense,
25:42you're just trying
25:42to gather information,
25:44right?
25:44You're trying to see
25:44a good type of coverage.
25:46Maybe if you can get
25:46a guy to trigger
25:47and show you blitz.
25:48This Miami offense
25:49loves the motion game.
25:50They fake the toss.
25:52They go over the middle
25:53to Farrell Brown.
25:54There is a marker down.
25:56It's Wilson to Farrell Brown.
25:59It's all the way back
26:00at the 34 at the near side.
26:02It's a gain of 30
26:03if it stands.
26:04But there you see
26:05that all that motion,
26:05the fake toss.
26:07Illegal formation often.
26:09The right tackle
26:10is at the end of the line.
26:12Five yard penalty
26:13may stack it out.
26:17TJ, how does
26:17an illegal formation feel
26:19for an offensive lineman?
26:19Well, it's because
26:20nobody's covering him up.
26:21So he's the end man
26:22on the line.
26:23This receiver has to be able
26:24to get on the line,
26:25especially if that tight end's back.
26:27So I know that the tackle
26:29is going to get credited
26:30with the penalty,
26:32but that's not on you.
26:33That is on the receiver.
26:34You have to know
26:35if you're the end man
26:36on the line,
26:37you have to be on the football.
26:38So Larry Bourne feels okay.
26:40Yes, that's...
26:41Larry Bourne is not going
26:43to get yelled at
26:43by the coaches outside.
26:45Not for that at least.
26:47Wilson on the puck.
26:49He will throw it down
26:50the sideline
26:51and that is incomplete.
26:55TJ Miller
26:56at the coverage
26:57and that was a really nice coverage
26:58on Azucama.
27:00He was stuck to it, TJ.
27:02Great coverage.
27:03We're getting Saul
27:03on his own earlier
27:04in this series.
27:05Now we're getting man
27:06to man with Miller Jr.
27:07out there.
27:08Great job right here too.
27:09Walking back for the football,
27:10right?
27:11You can make contact
27:11if you can try to sell
27:13to the official
27:13that you are going
27:15to try to make a play
27:16on the ball.
27:16If you never get your head around
27:17and you start to get handsy
27:18out there,
27:19you're going to get a flag
27:2090% of the time.
27:22But if you turn your head
27:22and you make it look like
27:23you're trying to make a play
27:24on that football,
27:25they're going to let you compete.
27:26And he did.
27:29Trying to make a play
27:30on it and compete.
27:31Third down and 12
27:32Azucama the motion
27:33and we have a timeout Miami.
27:37You could use the word
27:38disjointed so far
27:40for the offenses,
27:41but the defense
27:42of the Lions
27:43trying to stand up
27:44behind this crowd next.
27:47Imagine this.
27:49Third and 12
27:50coming up.
27:51Those are two guys
27:52you're going to be counting on
27:53during the regular season.
27:54on his way back for week one.
27:56DJ Reader as well.
27:58Great to see
27:58Hutch ready to go.
28:00He's been a menace
28:01in practice evidently
28:02as always.
28:03And Reader and Eve
28:04have good things
28:06in store at Field.
28:07Yeah, so both these guys
28:09seemingly healthy.
28:10I know DJ
28:11slow start to the season
28:13last year coming off an injury
28:14and then obviously
28:15what Hutch is coming back from.
28:16But talk about third and long
28:18right now.
28:18Those are two guys
28:19you're going to be counting on
28:20during the regular season
28:21to get you some pressure.
28:22Let's see if
28:22any of these guys
28:23on the field right now
28:24can find a way
28:24to be disruptive
28:25in that backfield.
28:26See how many
28:27Kelvin Shepard brings.
28:29The linebackers
28:30inch up to the line.
28:31Stewart's coming
28:32for sure.
28:33It's a quick hitter.
28:34It goes to Eskridge
28:35and he breaks free.
28:37Dee Eskridge
28:38down to the 10 yard line.
28:40He got through
28:41the trees there.
28:42It's a gain of 27
28:44picking his way through.
28:46Al-Quinion Muhammad
28:46got down to tackle him.
28:48Yeah, just a quick
28:49spreen out to the right side.
28:50Miami's able to get
28:51you can see three
28:52four off-mix
28:53climbing out front.
28:54Greg Stewart
28:54might have had a chance.
28:56I'll tell you what though.
28:56I mean, I know you
28:57don't want to give up
28:58a big chunk play
28:58on third and long
28:59but Al-Quinion Muhammad
29:00the hustle to be able
29:01to come down here
29:02right at the finish
29:03and be able to save
29:04a touchdown.
29:05That's the effort
29:05that you can coach.
29:07That's a play that
29:07you're going to put up
29:08on the screen tomorrow
29:09and say, you know what?
29:10Didn't go all the way
29:10at the beginning
29:11but find a way to finish.
29:12We heard a lot about
29:13finishing plays
29:14over the last couple of days.
29:15Here's Chandler White
29:16Stewart got the ball through
29:17and it's picked up
29:19behind the play.
29:20Looked like Tanner
29:21Connors scooped
29:22at the tight end
29:23but Grant Stewart
29:25and raked it
29:25out of the hands
29:26of Wright.
29:29And another one
29:30of those just wide zones
29:31right?
29:32It looks like there's
29:32going to be some space.
29:33Grant Stewart
29:33with the physicality
29:34to come knock
29:35the tight end off
29:36and really force
29:37the running back
29:38to probably go
29:38a little bit further
29:39outside than he wanted to
29:40and then watch
29:41we got the rip right there
29:42man, that is good stuff.
29:44That's what Kelvin
29:44Shepard wants.
29:45Attack the football.
29:46Find a way to force
29:47more fumbles
29:47and get the ball
29:49out of the running
29:50back's hands.
29:50I think it has been
29:51a huge emphasis.
29:52We've already seen it
29:53loose a couple times
29:54from this Miami offense.
29:55Kelvin Shepard's
29:56going to like that rep
29:56for a lot
29:57from Grant Stewart.
29:58First couple weeks
29:58not a whole lot
29:59in the turnover department
30:01swinging the ball three.
30:02Wilson drops it off
30:04over the middle.
30:05He's got Eskridge
30:06and Eskridge is
30:08in.
30:09Touchdown.
30:11Brock Yassin
30:12tried to keep him
30:13from the goal line
30:14but Eskridge
30:15breaks through
30:16the former
30:17Western Michigan
30:18Bronco
30:19has the first score
30:21this afternoon.
30:21Let's see though.
30:25Let's see if he got in.
30:29Watch that right knee
30:30doesn't go down to four.
30:33I think he's outside of that.
30:35I don't know that's close.
30:37Yeah, his knee never went down
30:38unless he stayed,
30:39unless he somehow stepped
30:40on that white line
30:41to the outside.
30:43Heck of a second effort
30:44and that's Miami man.
30:46You get a lot of those plays,
30:47especially down in the red zone,
30:48just those crossing routes
30:50and very difficult to
30:51defend when you're in
30:52man-to-man coverage.
30:53There's a lot of traffic
30:54in the middle of that field.
30:55You've got to find a way
30:55to avoid the contact,
30:57avoid the picks.
30:58That time,
30:59nice design from Miami
31:00just finding a wide open
31:01to Eskridge over the middle
31:02of the field
31:02and really good second effort
31:04from him being able
31:04to get to that pylon.
31:08This is the type of eye candy
31:10that we expected to see
31:12last week.
31:13And actually,
31:13I would imagine
31:14truth serum for Dan Campbell
31:17and Kelvin Shepard.
31:17You'd rather have people
31:19run things like this
31:20in a preseason game, right?
31:21You get a ton of valuable reps,
31:25you know what I mean?
31:26And it's just,
31:26man, I thought this was
31:27going to happen,
31:28but it didn't.
31:29And you learn how
31:30to be consistent,
31:31you know what I mean?
31:32You learn how to train
31:32your eyes,
31:33especially if you're
31:34in the secondary,
31:35safety, nickel,
31:36even linebackers,
31:37if you're asked
31:38to drop back in coverage,
31:39how can I be disciplined
31:40with my eyes?
31:41How can I revert back
31:42to my training
31:42and my keys?
31:43What is going to show me
31:44where the routes
31:45are coming from,
31:46where the guys
31:47are expected to be,
31:47what the levels
31:48of the different
31:49combinations of routes
31:50are going to be?
31:51It's difficult
31:52when you get
31:53so much motion
31:54because,
31:55like you said,
31:55if it throws you off
31:56for just a split second,
31:57that's a lot of time,
31:59the only time you need
32:00in the NFL
32:00to make a difference
32:01between a really good play
32:02and potentially
32:04a good defensive stop.
32:05That's what happened
32:06for Eskridge
32:07to get free.
32:08There's a point good
32:08for Jason Sanders
32:10and now this
32:10from our friends at Meijer.
32:14The good life
32:15shouldn't be reserved
32:16for the few.
32:18The finest cuisine
32:19should always be
32:21on the menu.
32:23And looking good
32:24shouldn't just be
32:25for the rich and famous.
32:27At Meijer,
32:28we believe that real life
32:29deserves real good.
32:31We work hard
32:32to bring more of it.
32:33Here, quality meets value.
32:35and selection meets savings.
32:37So the good life
32:38is always within reach.
32:40We do more to make life
32:41a good deal better.
32:43At Meijer.
32:45TJ, I have great news for you.
32:47Let's hear it.
32:48We just got six more seconds together.
32:51Clock was at 118.
32:52They put it to 124.
32:54That is the best news
32:55we've had all day.
32:57They can restart the game
32:57if they want, Jason.
32:58That's not a lot of fun.
32:59How about that one?
33:00Not that far.
33:01Six seconds.
33:02Just push.
33:03How many of the coaches
33:04on the sidelines
33:04would say,
33:05you know what,
33:05let's do another first year.
33:07Yeah, we're good.
33:07We've got plenty of reps
33:08and we're good.
33:09Let's keep this thing moving.
33:10That was a drive of 641
33:13for Miami.
33:1412 plays, 80 yards.
33:15Even after the pedal,
33:16he set them back.
33:18And Sanders boots it.
33:21Stewart on the return
33:22from inside the five.
33:24Grant Stewart
33:24has been very busy
33:25so far today.
33:27He's down to the 30.
33:28And you see the Dolphins
33:29are excited about the coverage.
33:31Last year,
33:32this Lions team,
33:34despite all the injuries,
33:35goes 15-2
33:37in the regular season.
33:39They get the first round by
33:40by virtue of winning
33:41the NFC North
33:42with that great record.
33:43But they ran into
33:44a commander's offense
33:46that was jet-propelled
33:47just like the Lions' offense
33:49was as well.
33:50You see 33 points a game.
33:52New coordinator,
33:53as we know about,
33:54for Dan Campbell
33:54with John Morton
33:56taking over.
33:58But, you know,
33:58the one thing
33:59we haven't seen
33:59this preseason in games
34:01is all the ones together.
34:02And there is a lot of skill
34:04in that room.
34:05Allen will throw.
34:06It's on first down.
34:07It's a little bit high
34:08for Kennedy.
34:09And it's incomplete
34:10with Ethan Bonner
34:11in the area.
34:12Just a couple of balls
34:14off the hand of Allen
34:15that are a little bit high today.
34:17Yeah, and very similar
34:18to the throw
34:18that we saw to
34:19Isaac Teslot
34:20earlier in the game
34:21where it's just going to be
34:22an over route
34:23coming off that play action.
34:25And Tom Kennedy's
34:26a lot shorter
34:27than Isaac Teslot, right?
34:29So, yes,
34:29I think you have to
34:30just be aware
34:30of the personnel
34:31that you have in there.
34:32Kyle Allen,
34:33not a bad decision.
34:34You like the fact
34:35that he's throwing
34:35to the guy
34:36he's supposed to be
34:36throwing to.
34:37The execution
34:38could just be
34:38a little bit smoother
34:39right now.
34:40Here is Vahki
34:41on the run.
34:42You see the toughness
34:42for Sione Vahki.
34:44By the way,
34:44in about a minute
34:46of game time
34:46when we come back
34:47for the beginning
34:47of the second quarter,
34:49the executive vice president,
34:50general manager
34:51for the Lions,
34:52Brad Holmes,
34:52will join us
34:53here in the booth.
34:54We're going to have
34:54an opportunity
34:54to chat about this roster,
34:56its construction,
34:57and where the Lions
34:58are going
34:59in just a couple of weeks
35:00for the opener
35:01against the Packers.
35:02That'll be exciting
35:03to talk to Brad.
35:04We'll pry him away
35:05from the game
35:05for a couple of minutes.
35:07Yeah, a couple plays.
35:08And the one thing
35:08that I think we all know
35:10with Brad,
35:10and even Dan,
35:11everybody that, you know,
35:12does press company,
35:13they're open
35:14and they're honest.
35:15They're going to tell you
35:15exactly what they're thinking
35:16and what they're looking for.
35:17So excited to hear
35:18from Brad Holmes
35:19just to keep getting
35:21the feel of how
35:22how this roster building
35:23continues to grow.
35:24Now, that's an interesting play
35:25for Dominic Lovett.
35:26Back from the abdominal issue,
35:29he may have given back
35:30the first down.
35:31He doubled back
35:32to try to gain more yardage,
35:33and what he ends up with
35:35is a fourth down
35:36and very short,
35:37it looks like.
35:38Oh, they are going to move
35:42the sticks on the far side,
35:44so the far side chains
35:45are moving,
35:46and the near side ones
35:47go right after that,
35:48so they do give Lovett
35:49the first down,
35:50credit to him
35:50for getting to the marker
35:52in his first catch.
35:54And that is the end
35:55of quarter number one.
35:57Brad Holmes will join us
35:58when we come back
35:59here in Detroit.
36:01This Detroit Lions
36:06preseason game broadcast
36:07is presented by
36:09Meyer.
36:11Second quarter,
36:12just getting ready to start
36:14here in Detroit.
36:17And we have a special guest
36:18joining us
36:19as the Lions
36:19are on the ball
36:21at the 40-yard line.
36:23Brad Holmes will join us
36:24after the play,
36:25the executive vice president,
36:26general manager
36:27of the Lions.
36:28For now,
36:29it is first down
36:30from the 40
36:31after the Lovett stretch
36:32to get the line to game.
36:36Second quarter underway.
36:38It is Sione Vaki
36:39on the run.
36:41It's a gain of one,
36:42and we welcome you, Brad Holmes.
36:44Thank you for stopping by the booth.
36:45Thanks for having me.
36:46Appreciate this.
36:47How do you evaluate
36:49a preseason game
36:50in a first quarter
36:51like we just saw?
36:52Yeah, well, really,
36:53you want to see
36:54everything that, you know,
36:55Dan's been preaching
36:56throughout the week
36:58in terms of
36:58what he wants to see
36:59in terms of
36:59the fundamentals,
37:01the technique,
37:01the carryover
37:02from the classroom,
37:04and really just
37:05make sure that
37:05our identity
37:06still shows
37:07regardless of
37:08who's playing, really.
37:11Second down at nine,
37:12Allen the throw,
37:14and it is on target
37:15and reeled in
37:16by Tesla,
37:17which gives us
37:17the opportunity
37:18to talk about
37:19Isaac Tesla,
37:20who has been
37:21one of the standouts
37:22of this camp.
37:23When you first met him,
37:24what did you think?
37:26Yeah, you know,
37:27when I first met him,
37:28he was exactly
37:29what I thought
37:30he was going to be
37:31on his play.
37:32You know,
37:32you see a really gritty,
37:34tough, physical guy,
37:36a lot of confidence
37:37in himself,
37:38knows he has to earn it,
37:39and so then
37:40when you sit down,
37:41you meet with him,
37:41we brought him
37:42on the top 30,
37:43and he was all of that.
37:45He has a sense
37:46of humility,
37:47knows what he needs
37:47to work on,
37:48but you just love
37:49the confidence
37:50that he has,
37:50and it's really cool
37:52that, you know,
37:52he really emulates
37:54his style of football
37:55from what we've been
37:57displaying for the past,
37:59you know,
37:59few years,
38:00so it's been cool,
38:02but he's been doing
38:02a great job.
38:03He's getting better
38:04and better,
38:04but I think Dan
38:05mentioned it last week,
38:06and it's just true
38:07when the pads come on
38:09and those guys
38:10really come alive,
38:11and there's a number
38:11of those guys
38:12that we can say
38:12about that.
38:13Yeah,
38:13flip to the defensive
38:14side real quick.
38:15Another guy that
38:16young player Keith Cooper
38:17seems to not go a day
38:19without being mentioned
38:20by some of the players
38:22or even coach bringing
38:23him up as somebody
38:24that's really standing
38:25out.
38:25Just the development
38:26that he's made
38:27since you brought him
38:27in back in April
38:29with Keith.
38:30What have you seen
38:31from his growth so far?
38:33And, you know,
38:33I've got to give
38:33a lot of credit
38:34to our air scout,
38:35Pat Malarkey,
38:36that was down
38:36to join the area
38:37and has brought him
38:38in as an undrafted
38:39free agent,
38:40you know,
38:40still on the table
38:41for him,
38:42but, you know,
38:42he just has
38:43incredible length,
38:44you know,
38:44a guy that has
38:45close to 35-inch arms
38:47and then has
38:48the athleticism
38:48to go on top of it.
38:50So he's been doing
38:51a lot of stuff
38:52that we've been
38:53intrigued about.
38:54He's another guy
38:54that's still got
38:55a lot of learning
38:56and development to do,
38:58but, you know,
38:59so far he's made
39:01an impression.
39:02As you build
39:03this roster,
39:03we have not seen
39:04the ones in the
39:05preseason,
39:06so we haven't talked
39:06about them a whole lot.
39:08Which area of this team
39:09growth-wise
39:10are you most excited
39:11about with a couple
39:12weeks to go
39:13before the regular season?
39:14Yeah,
39:15that's a really good
39:15question because,
39:16as you said,
39:17in the preseason,
39:18you don't see the ones,
39:18but it was really cool
39:20to see our starting
39:21offensive line
39:22versus the Dolphins
39:24this week
39:25going there
39:25because when you
39:27really think about
39:27a roster,
39:28that's really the only
39:30starting level
39:31positions,
39:32the interior
39:33offensive line
39:34that, you know,
39:35we had an idea
39:36of how it might go,
39:38but it was just
39:39still some things
39:39that were unclear.
39:40It was like,
39:40you know,
39:41was Gray going to be
39:42at center?
39:42Is he going to be
39:43at guard?
39:43Is Tate going to be
39:44at center?
39:44You know,
39:45so that whole combination
39:46and also a young guy
39:47like Christian Mahogany,
39:49you know,
39:49how young he is.
39:51So what I felt like
39:52this past week
39:53that really kind of
39:54got,
39:55we got a lot of clarity
39:56on that front
39:57and that aspect
39:58and that was good
39:59to see.
39:59So we have a lot
40:01of confidence
40:01in that group.
40:02Not saying that we
40:03were not confident
40:04in those players,
40:05but, you know,
40:06it was good to see
40:06it all gel together
40:07this past week.
40:08And just one final
40:09one for you, Brad.
40:10I know you got asked
40:1017,000 times
40:12this offseason
40:13about the entrance.
40:15Absolutely.
40:17And I know you guys
40:17are very thrilled
40:18to have a healthy stack
40:19and pull out there.
40:21Just last week
40:22against Atlanta
40:23really started to look
40:24like it was coming
40:24alive a little bit
40:25with some of these
40:25young players.
40:26Who's just one guy
40:27that you think
40:28is having good camp
40:29so far that might
40:29find his way
40:30to earn a spot
40:31here on this team.
40:32Yeah, well,
40:33I'll tell you what,
40:33Nate Lynn,
40:35you know,
40:35who we brought
40:36as an undrafted guy
40:37that we had
40:38we were excited
40:38about the undrafted
40:39finishing process
40:40last year.
40:41Unfortunately,
40:42he got an injury,
40:44had to get shell
40:44for that whole season,
40:45but being able
40:46to come back,
40:47get an offseason
40:48under his belt
40:48and he's been
40:49had some opportunity
40:50to show some things
40:51and so far so good
40:53he's having a good camp.
40:54We'll let you go,
40:55but I do want to know
40:56what the 10,
40:57your attention level,
40:59watching a preseason game.
41:01Where is it?
41:02Are we red?
41:03Are we blue?
41:04Like, where are we?
41:06It's always kind of
41:07been a little bit of
41:08it hovers in that red area
41:10a little bit
41:11just whenever somebody
41:12goes down.
41:13it's just he just
41:14see man look
41:15he just want
41:16get out healthy
41:17you know
41:17but at the same time
41:19you have to evaluate
41:20these guys as well
41:21so you have to see
41:22enough on them
41:23but so far
41:25you know
41:25we had a pretty
41:26good week
41:27this past week
41:28with the Dolphins
41:28and hopefully
41:29come out good
41:30in this game.
41:31Brad, thank you so much.
41:32Yeah, appreciate it.
41:32that's the line
41:33this season
41:33thank you
41:34Brad Holmes
41:35joining us
41:36from here
41:37in the booth
41:37at Ford Field
41:38Calvin Shepard
41:44can dial it up
41:45right now
41:46second down
41:47the Dolphins
41:48pinned back
41:48at their own
41:5013 yard line
41:52Jalen Wright
41:54the tailback
41:55there's
41:55Taj Washington
41:57in motion
41:58who had a jet
41:59sweep earlier
42:00Wilson
42:01either
42:02he'll throw
42:03coming to the side
42:04with an incomplete
42:05it was
42:06Alan George
42:07who jumped around
42:08and nearly
42:09got himself a pick
42:11just joining up
42:12with his team
42:13recently
42:13and we keep
42:17mentioning
42:17a lot of man coverage
42:19especially in preseason
42:20coaches want to see
42:21who can cover
42:22one on one
42:22really nice
42:23for George
42:25to be able to get
42:26in that throwing motion
42:27and talk about
42:27a guy that just got
42:28signed this week
42:29coming in here
42:30and playing
42:30a lot of meaningful
42:31snaps for this team
42:32that's one way
42:33to make an impression
42:34right there
42:34he's lined up
42:38down at the bottom
42:39of your screen
42:40let's see
42:41if the pass brush
42:42can get there
42:43third down
42:43at ten
42:44the Lions
42:44bring four
42:45with a stunt
42:45Wilson has a clean
42:47pocket
42:48his throw
42:48is incomplete
42:49Luke Barku
42:51on the coverage
42:52at time
42:53and it's fourth down
42:55interesting to see
42:59that Nate Lynn
43:00I know he was
43:01been playing
43:01a lot of edge
43:02rusher
43:02lined up as a
43:03three tech
43:03that time
43:04and good eyes
43:05there
43:05really good eyes
43:06reading the quarterback
43:07when he tries to
43:09step up into that
43:10pocket
43:10you have to
43:11anticipate
43:11when that ball
43:12is going to come
43:12out
43:13that's what it's
43:14all about
43:14when you're
43:14playing secondary
43:15is how can you
43:16time it up
43:17to where you
43:17don't get beat
43:18you're not risking
43:19yourself to a double
43:20move
43:20you make sure
43:21you better be right
43:22a really nice job
43:23that time
43:23from Luke Barku
43:24getting back-to-back
43:26plays with
43:26hands-on football
43:27Jake Bailey
43:29to see him
43:30again
43:31with a fair catch
43:36off a 50-yard punt
43:38Brad Holmes
43:39we thank him
43:40for joining us
43:41here for preseason
43:42football
43:42and watching
43:43all the guys
43:44looking for a
43:45roster spot
43:46Luke Barku
43:46nice coverage
43:47on that drive
43:48Lions football
43:51preseason
43:53home game
43:54number one
43:54I'm pretty sure
43:56that was
43:57my cousin
43:57I'm one of
43:58those shots
43:58really
43:58I was like
44:00what's so funny
44:01about a big crowd
44:02holy cow
44:03did you even know
44:04that your cousin
44:05was going to be
44:05here
44:05no not that
44:06one
44:07amazing
44:09no I didn't
44:10wow
44:10right there
44:11first down
44:16Craig Reynolds
44:17tailback
44:18and Allen
44:21will hand it to
44:22him
44:22right
44:22gets to the
44:23outside
44:24and
44:24to the
44:2643
44:26it's a new
44:27game that we're
44:28playing here on
44:28Lions TV
44:29which one is
44:30TJ's cousin
44:31you got a guess
44:33Jason
44:33the one
44:34the one in the
44:35middle
44:3691
44:36that is
44:37incorrect
44:38this big guy
44:39right there
44:40that's my cousin
44:42at least
