The Turkish frigate TCG İstanbul (F-515) successfully shot down a target drone using the HİSAR-D RF air defence missile, launched from the national vertical launch system MİDLAS.
The test highlighted the integration of Turkey’s defence industry: STM, Roketsan, ASELSAN and HAVELSAN worked together, demonstrating the nation’s technological progress.
In the future, the MİDLAS system will also be capable of launching ATMACA cruise missiles, long-range SİPER Block I missiles, and even torpedo munitions.
