00:00Take a look at Hulu Plus here. So Hulu Plus is kind of interesting. I have this application
00:14integrated into my Samsung display, and it's really the same application as far as the
00:26functionality of the application is concerned or the user interface is concerned. My biggest
00:36problem I have with the Roku implementation, though, compared to my Samsung display, this
00:46program, for instance, Glee, if you watch it on the Samsung display, it displays in HD.
00:54On the Roku, it clearly doesn't display in HD, and there's also an indicator, maybe after
01:04this commercial here passes, we'll take a look at that. This is, by the way, one of the most
01:09annoying things with the Hulu Plus service. It's not really a fault of Roku's, but you're
01:15paying, I think it's $7.99 a month, and you have to watch commercials. You can see you
01:25do get captions with the Hulu Plus service, which is a very nice feature, something you'd
01:33expect when you're used to broadcast television. So you can see down here, CC is on, autoplay
01:41is off. Usually on my Samsung display, it would say HD content. I haven't found any content
01:49through Roku that has that. And, you know, this is clearly, when I take a look at it and compare
02:00to what's going on in my Samsung display, it's clearly not HD. And I believe these dots here indicate
02:10commercial breaks. And you can see, you get a nice window to indicate where you are if you're trying
02:19to fast forward and find some place in the program. One thing I really like about Hulu Plus, also compared
02:28to some of the other applications on the Roku, is that the buffering isn't bad at all. I think it's usually
02:39less than 10 seconds or so. Whereas, you know, some of the other, most, I think, if not all of the
02:47applications seem to be, could be anywhere from 20 to 40 seconds or more to buffer up content.
02:56If you're used to the Hulu desktop application, you can sort of see this is actually pretty similar
03:02to that application. So we'll get, I think that's about enough for Hulu Plus.
