00:00people know us from the racing they know us from 2,600 wins from two champions over 150 stake
00:19winners but what people don't realize is that we've had a breeding program almost as long as
00:23our racing program at any given time we'll have between 30 and 50 broodmares they're being bred
00:28to the top stallions in the industry and really that side of the program has been in lockstep
00:36with our racing operation for as long as I can remember. The relationship between TaylorMade
00:41and DJ Stable goes back to when I was just a kid when John Green was a kid I can remember DJ horses
00:49being in the barn that's right here beside me when I was prepping yearlings when I was a kid
00:56and had a lot of great horses back in those days for them horses you know like November Snow we had
01:01a horse that I actually prepped for the sale named Scatmandu and they've got a long track record of
01:06coming up with really nice horses that they bred breeding operation has definitely evolved over
01:11the past 40 years in the beginning we were strictly regional we were breeding speed on speed so about
01:1715 years ago we revamped our entire system our entire program and we went from speed on speed to
01:24classic and more black type and more commercial motivated pedigrees it's been incredible over
01:31the past two decades just the transformation not only in the types of horses that we've bred you know
01:36from November Snow who was a champion to Senate appointee who was a Canadian champion all the way up to
01:41being able to to breed and sell horses in book one in September in select sales like like here at
01:48that basic tipton summer and we've been able to keep some of our home breads like nitrogen who
01:52became you know a Canadian champion and hopefully this year we'll show that she's a grade one winner
01:57as well it took everything in our in our being not to put her in a sale because she's so beautiful
02:04but really it came down to Jeff Hazel at TaylorMade has been calling her nitro really from the day she
02:10was born because he was saying she breathes different air really every step of the way that
02:14we've asked nitrogen to do something she has exceeded those expectations nitrogen all alone in
02:20the wonder again i just feel very fortunate and and blessed that we have you know tiffany case her
02:25mother and hopefully we'll have nitrogen in our breeding operation you know for for 15 20 years
02:31i think what makes dj special and and unique is the fact that it's a family affair on their side i think
02:39that lynn really went through the early stages of learning about breeding lois who passed away a
02:45couple years back was a big part of their program and she loved it i think john has taken the baton
02:52and continued to elevate it from there the nice thing about our breeding program is that we've done
02:58a lot of the legwork we've gone ahead and and had people go out and look for the best athletes possible
03:05what we're doing in the at the keynote november sale is something called a curated reduction and it does
03:10not mean that we're getting out of the business because we're still going to keep roughly about a
03:13third of our breeding program in-house but we're giving the general public an opportunity to buy
03:19these turnkey mares by these mares that are already proven our goal is to kind of cut back a little bit
03:25on the numbers that we have and give the marketplace an opportunity to have mares in fall to these top
03:33stallions at taylormade we're trying to help our customers achieve their dreams and goals and when
03:40you get a customer like dj whose dreams and goals align with ours that's where the real fun in this game
03:48is is getting the customer and taylormade merged together to try to come up with results that just
03:54say quality that's what we're trying to do i hope when people are looking at our consignment especially for
03:59the you know for the breeding stock that they know that there's been quality and care that's gone
04:05into making sure that this horse is absolutely the best it can be
