00:00Following what was a huge and positive opening day victory for Bristol City at Bramall Lane against Sheffield United, the side who of course defeated the Robins in last season's playoff semi-final over two legs with an aggregate score of six goals to nil.
00:17That 4-1 victory was so positive for Bristol City but now they are heading back home to Ashton Gate for their first home league game of the season. Of course they did play at home in the League Cup during midweek defeating MK Dons by two goals to nil.
00:32But now they're back at home in the league and taking on Charlton Athletic at Ashton Gate. So what can we expect from this game?
00:40Well certainly after the positive start they've had to the season, Bristol City will be full of confidence. That win against Sheffield United would have done them the absolute world of good because of course there was a lot of dejection following the loss against the Blades at the end of last season in the playoffs and then of course they lost their manager in Liam Manning but then they've gone and done this after a positive summer and things are looking really rosy.
01:02And Gerhard Struber the head coach believes that the Robins are going to continue to grow and progress as the season goes on. In fact let's hear from him now. Let's hear from Gerhard Struber the Bristol City head coach to hear what he thinks after what has been a positive start to the season ahead of their game against Charlton.
01:19I would say of course how we grow in our principles. So the style of play that every single player realize and recognize more what we want and so I would say in Sheffield and also yesterday in our in our first cup game I would say we we find many many synchronized moments in our pressing actions and also I would say gegenpressing and also how we create transition moments was on a very good level.
01:48So yeah and the attitude from the boys the energy what we have together makes me happy at the moment.
01:55You've been here almost a month. How are you settling into the city and here at the training ground?
02:00Yeah I think our training ground is special. I think our environment here is on an outstanding high level and of course this makes every training a little bit easier with a grass on this level.
02:16I have sometimes the feeling we are not on a football field more on a golf grass and I think of course it's very nice to be here and can train on a super high level with my boys.
02:29Yeah and the city. The city is it's it's it's it's I would say it's yeah a very nice place to be and a place where gives me a good feeling a good atmosphere to live and gives me next to the high performance center where I am normally the whole day.
02:54Yeah a good feeling to go out to meet some people to go in different restaurants has a good choice of different clubs and restaurants.
03:05I think in all directions I think in all directions it's very nice to be here.
03:11And you've got your coaching set up all done now with Craig, Bernd, Pat and Alex. How is that dynamic working?
03:19Also in a good way. Yeah it sounds so so nice at the moment but the reality is it is on a very good way.
03:26I would say for me it's not the first time that I took over a completely new stuff but also I had the chance to bring some next to me some coaches with me.
03:43But I would say how we communicate together, how we work together, the workflow, the structure what we built in the last few weeks in our working style I think go in a good way.
03:59Everyone is my feeling at the moment feels good, feels very important.
04:05Everyone knows his role and his responsibility and in this direction I think we have at the moment a very good togetherness also in this group.
04:15And we've spoken a lot about you wanting to implement your style of play. How do you think that's gone now one month in?
04:23I think we are good on the way. I would say also that we are quick on the way and this speaks more for the group.
04:30So how open-minded the boys, how open they are to learn different things and of course we can see we have a very talented group of players.
