00:00Bristol City's unbeaten start to the season continued on Saturday afternoon, but they were frustrated at not gaining all three points at home to Charlton Athletic in the championship.
00:11This comes, of course, after the Robins won 4-1 on the opening day away at Sheffield United, before then booking their place in the second round of the Carabao Cup with a 2-0 victory at home to MK Dons.
00:22So, ultimately, frustration on their home bow in the league season against Charlton Athletic, but, overall, a positive start for the Robins.
00:32They'll certainly look to use this as motivation, the fact that they didn't win when they probably would have liked to, to kick on as the campaign really gets underway.
00:42Of course, Gerhard Struber coming into a new club and imposing his playing style on the squad and bringing in a few new faces as well.
00:51It's meant that pre-season has been tough for a lot of the squad and physical, but, overall, they've certainly shown that they are up to the standard and up to capabilities that Gerhard Struber is demanding of them.
01:03It's just frustrating that they were not able to pick up the three points that they would have liked against Charlton Athletic.
01:09But, I think it's fair to say that a lot of Bristol City supporters probably would have taken this start of the season so far.
01:15They probably would have taken a point at Bramall Lane and then a win at home to Charlton and Progression in the Cup.
01:20So, it's come the other way around, but I think four points after two games they would have been happy with.
01:25But, let's hear now from Gerhard Struber himself.
01:28The expectation was a win and, of course, we are disappointed in this direction.
01:32We have a standard to win our home games and we don't realise that on the way what we want.
01:40I would say, first half, we go in a good direction.
01:43We break them down, but in the end, we were in our decision-making in the last third.
01:47But, not always on the level of what we want and, of course, Charlton, with a good energy on the way, with momentum on the way,
01:54we could see that it's a reason behind why they promoted.
01:59On the same time, I think, yeah, this game gave us some good feedback.
02:06What can we improve to have also more control over the whole game time?
02:12The second half, we played too much.
02:14The game from Charlton, what they want.
02:17And then this was more so a 50-50 game.
02:21Because there were plenty of shots, weren't there?
02:23Perhaps not the clear-cut chances to get the ball in the back of the net.
02:26Yeah, I think these are some moments where we could do it better and this is decision-making.
02:31Is this a shoot or is this maybe a small switch?
02:34And in this direction, of course, we have to improve.
02:36But we have, in the end, also under-pressure moments, always a good solution.
02:41And I think this is something where we can train and can we improve.
02:46But in terms of your back line and your goalkeeper, another good save, a couple of good saves from Vitek
02:51and a really strong defensive performance.
02:53You must be pleased about that.
02:54Yes, I think one more time we can see on which level we are with our back line.
02:59Of course, also with our goalkeeper.
03:01We need him the one or other time.
03:03We were also a little bit unlucky with a shoot from Anis.
03:06We met on the crossbar.
03:07Also in the first half, we had, I would say, we were close to coming front.
03:14But in the end, I would say, it's a clean sheet what we take.
03:19And many, many good learnings there has helped to grow.
03:23And you did try and change it, particularly towards the last 10 minutes, try and get that late winner, Sinks and Fally.
03:28They mean, they did cause some problems.
03:30Yeah, I think, of course.
03:31We have a roster.
03:32We have many, many players.
03:33They are ready for game time and they are ready to help the team.
03:38And in this way, yeah, it was also good to see Fally with game time and Sinks again.
03:42And some more league minutes for Rob Dickey.
03:45I mean, he came on and was very strong as well.
03:47Yes, of course.
03:48I think this is not a surprise that Rob Dickey helped us and is strong.
03:52He's, of course, a player with big experience on the same time with, I would say, with a very, very good quality and in this direction.
04:02Yeah, it's not a surprise that he bring us in the end with the team together, the equaliser.
04:09And looking ahead, Derby on Friday night.
04:12How are you looking to prepare for that in this week of training?
04:15Yeah, I think we have right now four days to prepare from Monday on.
04:20And I think, of course, it's also a difficult game in Derby.
04:24We know they have also in set play big power.
04:27But also we realised that they get and conceded many goals in the last two games.
04:32So, yeah, we have to be with us.
04:35I think we have to train in our principles and then I would say this is a Friday night game.
04:43What wish you more?
